I hated this. The brush is big and loads up too much product, which makes application difficult without removing most of the product onto tissue. I’m not fan of curved brushes because they don’t always allow me to easily to twirl the brush around lashes- as this brush is very big & I found it tricky to use.
I tried using it 3/4 times but application was never successful – so threw it out

I always have trouble finding a great non-waterproof mascara that’ll hold up to my oily lids but this wasn’t it because it smudged within an hour plus it only offered average length & volume. Nothing exciting. And the brush was huge.

HOLY GRAIL. It really does lift your lashes which I personally find incredible. I have very stubbornly flat eyelashes and this finally makes them look how I always wished they would look. And they STAY curled!!! All day!! 😮
I also LOVE that it doesn’t dry immediately because I like to take my time to apply it as evenly as possible before adding a second coat. The half thick, half thin brush makes it really easy to do this on both the top and bottom lashes. It’s also the first mascara I’ve ever tried that hasn’t irritated my eyes. And it doesn’t have that chemical smell most mascara has.
It doesn’t clump, flake off or crumble. It’s actually perfect. And for under $5, too. Amazing. I wish I could give it more lippies.

I think this is the one makeup product that I have ever re-purchased. it’s a perfect combination of great result, ease of application, staying power, ease of removal.
when I was researching this, lots of people talked about being very wet, and drying slowly. I LOVE this, as it gives me enough time to brush all of the lashes, coat them just the way I like it, put a second coat if I want. and then it dries. and stays put. it doesn’t end up anywhere it’s not supposed to be.
(with other mascaras, by the second layer, it’s already dry, and I can almost feel lashes breaking when I comb through).
the slightly curved brush works great for me – it does actually curve my lashes (I don’t use a curler).
it doesn’t add a tone of volume (the pink Volume Stylist 18H adds a lot more, for instance, for a more dramatic look, but it’s a pain to take of, and it crumbles all over my face), but it adds enough, plus good length.
all in all, a great mascara.
and shockingly cheap too.

The wand is to big! It’s horrible to work with. I really love essence masacaras but I was disappointed with this one

Holy grail mascara!!
To be fair I have long lashes and they’re not very straight, but that wouldnt make a mascara automatically work for me.
This product provides lots of volume, is very very black and also lengthens.
Has a nice densly packed and big applicator which I love. Although it picks up too much product in my opninion and you have to wipe some off since the formula is so wet it will clump up no matter how you apply it.
The thing I find the most amazing about this is that once it has dried down I can curl my lashes pushing them with my index finger, and they keep the shape!!
I have respurchased this mascara twice and will continue to.

Short review
Pros
+cheap price
+widely available
+doesn’t dry out or finish soon
+very good volumizing
+moderate lengthening
+it’s wand is able to give a bit of curl to lashes by itself
+no flakes
+very black formula
+it’s buildable and is versatile
+doesn’t irritate eyes
+doesn’t dry out and harden lashes
+isn’t very difficult to remove
Cons
-a lot of product clumps on it’s wand
-it can be clumpy and stick lashes together a bit
-it’s wand isn’t able to seprate lashes and using a comb is necessary
-it’s not perfect in holding curls
-it’s not easy to apply(big wand,wet formula)
-can smudge a bit(but not too much)
I already have a new mascara which I really like,(Oriflame Giordani Gold Incredible Length),but when I saw this essence mascara in an online sale for just 3$ I didn’t hesitate to order it.I’ve read many positive reviews about it in different forums,so I couldn’t wait to try it
“Get big lashes volume curl mascara”is a very temting name for me.I have average lashes but I love very big, dramatic ones, and my biggest problem with my lashes is that they’re straight;so I have to use eyelash curler.
Yesterday I recieved my essence mascara.I was very pleased to see it’s brush as I like mascaras with huge brushes.it’s not too thick to be difficult to use, just the right size.I don’t like mascars with thin, plastic brushes
As usual I curled my lashes, then started to test my new mascara.I was afraid to see it’s wet texture.I can’t get along well with wet mascaras and I prefer more creamy ones.wet ones make my lashes dificult to hold curl, even if I use my eyelash curler ten times more than usual!
But strangely this didn’t happen with essence GBLVC!it doesn’t straighten my lashes.maybe it’s curved brush helps my lashes stay curled.and it doesn’t stay wet on lashes for a long time
I can already say that it’s a good mascara with a single test.better than some high ends.it makes my lashes look longer and more volumized.but I have had better ones in this field.it doesn’t seprate my lashes and unfortunately it’s a bit clumpy.it did’t flake in four hours that it was on my eye lashes
It also doesn’t irritate my eyes(well I don’t have sensitive eyes,it rarely happens that cosmetics iriritate my eyes).it was not too difficult to remove.I removed it with two phase eye makeup remover so I don’t know if it’s easy to remove just by washing or not.all in all not bad,but not good enough to make me want to repurchase it
Edit:
I bought this mascara last year.didn’t like it that much and gave it 3 stars and forgot about it.I thought I had lost it but yesterday I found it in dark depthes of my drawer.I was surprised to see it hasn’t dried,no bad smell either.I knew I have to try it and now I have to write another review as my feeling has changed about it
I remembered it was veryyy wet but right now it’s not too wet anymore, not dry either.it still leans a bit towards being wet but not being intolerable
It gives my lashes some length and curl, lots of volume and thickness.if I want to rate it’s lengthening power I’d say 2.5/5 it’s volumizing is 4/5 and it’s ability to keep a curl is 3.5/5 in my case
yes, there’s a bit clumping with more coats but not too much.I actually like how my lashes look with it and it can be perfect if I comb my lashes right after using it.I believe it’s better suited for people who want big lashes but it’s also good for daily use as it’s buildable, but if you’re into very natural look you may prefer others because it thickens and darkens lashes even with one coat
there’s zero fall out.I don’t see flakes under my eyes or on my cheeks even after a long day.you have to be careful when you first apply it as it’s almost wet but after a few minutes that it sets it doesn’t smear anymore.not much smudges at the end of the day.zero smudge if I don’t apply it to my lower lashes(I have dry skin and I powder under my eyes)(I have a friend with hooded eyes and oily skin and she says this mascara smudges on her but not very badly)
to be honest it seems to be better than all mascaras I have right now( Lancome M.Big, Rimmel Scandaleyes LycraFlex,Rimmel Superspeed,Royal Eternity 3D XXL)and it’s cheaper than all of them.I have to give it 5 stars.it’s not the best mascara ever, not my HG(I haven’t found my HG yet) but considering it’s price tag,it’s definitely very good, specially if you give it some time as it’s formula is too wet when you first open it
One of it’s biggest cons is that it’s wand is always a clump city.I wipe off the extra product sitting on it’s brush with a tissue every week, still whenever I open it I see there’s loads of product clumping on it’s wand.this doesn’t make it look uneven on lashes but it definitely makes the application more difficult and it’s wand can’t separate the lashes as it’s bristles are burried under tones of product.but I learned that if I clean up it’s wand and comb my lashes afterward It can give my lashes a nice,at least 3.5 out of 5, look.another Con is that the way I apply mascara,it definitely transfers to my upper lid and upper lash line but this is about the way I use mascara(the method I use usually tightlines and helps with curling lashes) happens with almost all mascaras except the really dry ones.good point is that unlike some other mascara,it’s wand doesn’t hurt my eyes and I’m able to clean up the mess easily by a Q tip soaked in micellar water.another good point is that it doesn’t make my lashes too dry and stiff
it helps curling lashes a bit by itself but it’s power to keep a curl isn’t one of the bests.it doesn’t droop lashes immediately like most mascaras with wet formula but after a while my lashes don’t have their 90degree curl anymore.
I’m happy that I found it but I’m not sure about repurchasing.I’d like to try different ones until I find my HG mascara

New love! This is even better than Catrice’s mascara. I get up really early cuz of work (damn) so I’m always in a rush to get my mascara done, and this is soooo wonderful. 2 coats, nice long lashes with curls that last the entire day. Comes off really easily too, with biore’ jelly makeup remover.

Great mascara. I personally like this over the ‘lash princess’ mascara in the line.
long full curled lashes in 2 coats 🙂
Just a tip! Wipe the excess with a tissue prior to use for best application.
Give it a try! Great product and super cheap.
Will continue to repurchase.

imagine my surprise when I went to Target and saw they had added not only Milani, but Essence, a brand that has popped up in my periphery lately, but I had never seen in the wild.
I love this weird comic packaging (I love any mascara packaging that isn’t black because then I can FIND IT), and I just purchased it on a whim because it was 3.99 and said it could do all the things. I have naturally quite long lashes, but I always want better volume and they don’t hold curl well. I have to say I am pleasantly surprised by this! if you work and build it you can definitely get a doll eye effect. the formula is super wet, which I’m not normally into because usually I find when it dries out a little with most other wet formulas (L’Oreal) is when it’s best. but this stuff is working great, and even though the brush is huge I don’t get it all over myself. yet. my only issue with the packaging on this brand is that none of the Essence products have any type of seal. so I got the mascara tube farthest back, but you can’t guarantee it has never been exposed to air or fingers.
