I honestly can’t tell a difference between this primer and the expensive ones I have from Lancome and Shiseido. They all do the exact same thing – give my lashes a little more oomph, make them look longer and thicker, but not unnaturally so, and definitely not looking like a set of falsies.
I love the tube, it’s cheery, and the subtle scent of the product (I love anything peach-scented), but no worries, the scent is very faint and goes away immediately. It applies white but turns more clear as it dries out, and mascara applies easily on top. It works just as well with Essence mascaras, as well as other brands.
It goes without saying that I will be buying this again, as I see no point in splurging on expensive stuff when this one works just as well.

I found essence Volume Boosting Lash Primer at CVS, and I’ve been using it regularly since. It works just as well as higher end lash primers at a fraction of the cost. I am left with the fanned out, eye-enhancing lash look, without having to put on multiple coats of mascara. I already have long lashes, but this definitely adds additional volume without being too obvious or fake looking. The primer goes on white, but is undetectable once you apply mascara. The brush itself allows for easy lash separation, as long as you take care when applying. I only put on one coat with a light hand, and make sure to evenly apply to avoid lashes sticking together. I then apply a couple coats of mascara (I like L’Oreal Voluminous in Carbon Black) and am good to go. I have not had difficulty removing mascara when washing with a foaming face wash either, which is a big plus, as it has not contributed to higher lash loss. I also like that it is made in Italy, as E.U. cosmetic safety regulations are more strict than they are in the U.S. I will definitely purchase again.

I love this! Its abit thick and can get messy but thats ok lol. I have used with other mascaras and its ok but when paired with Essence Lash Princess false lash effect..WOW. its gorgeous i got asked if i was wearing falsies. I like that clumped look. I will definitely purchase again.

I like this product, but not quite as much as I’d hoped to.
It works, but requires some effort to make it look good.
Don’t even consider going near this lash primer unless you have a good lash comb, and are prepared to use it. I really think that the keys to success with this primer are wiping down the wand and applying the product sparingly.
If you really want sky-high lashes, you may be tempted to load on this primer, and if you do, I promise the results will be a heavy, clumpy mess.
If I put a very light coat on lash tips only, then apply a light-to-moderate coat of mascara (my current favorite is Palladio Aqua Force), then comb with a metal comb, my lashes look long, full, and “feathery,” which is the look I want. It can be difficult to get all of the primer, which is white, covered, but that may depend on what mascara you’re using.
In general, I like this primer, except for its tendency to clump.
I’ll probably buy this again, unless I find a better inexpensive lash primer from a cruelty-free company.
