I bit the bullet buying this $30 mascara after reading good reviews in other places. Ouch. It is really not worth the money compared to other drugstore mascaras. Yes, it DID give a “feathery” look and did not clump and was dependable, but I’m so picky that it wasn’t enough for the price. Somehow, I am still hoping and wishing that one mascara will do it all. Until then, it’s off to layering several different ones for length, volume and no clumps…Tired of it, LOL! Best! —- Edited: the brush on Dior is VERY large and hard to use and ends up on your brow bone…. Sometimes I think these companies create a large brush thinking that we will equate this with a larger lash?? LOL. Nope. Edit: There are other mascaras out there with very similar results at a fraction of the price. Two I use are: Maybelline Big Shot and No 7 Lash Extender. You may want to try these out as they are so much cheaper and comparable to to Dior’s. Best.

It takes forever to dry. This mascara is something for a very, very dry climate. So that it can dry. It smudges a lot, the wand is beautiful and the color as well. But wouldn’t repurchase it because of the price and the fact that it smudges quite a lot. Probably something for a collection but nothing for use on a daily base…

I tried this a while back and it was an okay mascara. I felt that the formula was a bit runny for my liking and it did smudge because of the fact that it took forever to dry. When it did dry though, it looked nice. I wouldn’t buy this again because it wasn’t worth the money or the hype.

I didn’t like it that much

HG mascara! I am now finishing my second bottle of this and I plan to repurchase it. I wasn’t crazy about it at first, but I realised it is still the best I’ve used so far. I guess there is no such thing as “the perfect mascara” so my struggle to find it stops here.
Diorshow gives both volume and length to my lashes and the effect is quite elegant. It is very easy to clean and very gentle to the eyes and the skin around the eyes.

I love the brush. The best way to use this is to scrape of the excess blob into the tube or on the back of your hand. Then use it vertically seemingly one lash at a time, painting up and out. Then use it normally (horizontally wiggled a bit n up). This way it looks great. And no smudging by accident. Looks clean defined and volumized. The black is not the blackest possible which I like as the extreme black ones are not good for subtle everyday makeup. YSL is v black and that I can imagine best suited for when you want to look more formal and dressy.
Btw YSL does not irritate my eyes and Diorshow CAn. Most (all the ones I’ve tried) drugstore mascaras irritate my eyes except for Marcelle Natural Lash. Even thr La Roche Posay mascara supposedly aimed at those with sensitive eyes, irritated my eyes unbelievably while looking like Maybelline Great Lash (ie not good). So I may just be a particular case.
The formula is good in the sense that it does not flake and lasts long. So you can use it for a few months rather than toss out. However overall I am iffy on the price. I found a Clarins mascara that gives a good effect but happens to be lower priced.

This is the worst mascara I have ever used.
I got my first tube in a makeup set in 2008 and bought it at least one more time and every time the results are the same.
They put rose scented whatever into this mascara. That is very unnessecary.
I do NOT want my mascara to smell like roses.
The wand is way too big and overall this maecara just plain sucks!!!

I went through 20 of these back in highschool. About 10 years ago. I just took off my lash extenstions and have hideous short wimpy straight lashes. I have this in waterproof. Though i dont like it as much as i did in highschool because i have less lashes now and this is a separating and defining type of mascara. I love this in conjunction with a volumizing mascara like Chanel Le Volume. This coats the lashes naturally and lengthens the lashes while somewhat holding the curl. I am sure there are drugstore dupes but i honestly bought this for nostalgic reasons. The perfume does not bother me in this. I dont know if i would repurchase, for now i do love using it! I will check back, maybe i will find a dupe, but obviously it wont be as pretty of packaging , i am a sucker for sleek and elegant packaging.
Edit- after this mascara had some time to dry its been hard to layer. I now am waiting to try pml essense mascara base to go under Le volume de chanel to see how it works. Sigh i guess this oldie isnt that much of a goodie after all.

I love the Diorshow Pump & Volume so was excited to try out the original version.
I like the brush for application, although it’s kind of big for people who have smaller eyes, like me. Your lashes will look lovely and feathery. The formula is slightly dry and great at separating your lashes for a natural look.
It’s not quite dramatic enough for me to want to wear every day and it flakes quite a lot throughout the day. I’d pass on this one.

Pros:
– natural looking volumized lashes
– no flaking
– no clumping (but then I only applied 1-2 light coats)
– held the curl (somewhat)
– comes off easily with jojoba oil
– scent is pleasant or strong (but then I am a daily perfume wearer)
Cons:
– expensive
– does not lengthen
Good treat but not practical on the wallet.
