I cannot understand the bad reviews. This is the mascara I’ve been looking for all my life! I have short, thin, puny eyelashes that laugh at me when I pull out my mascara. I’ve tried all sorts – even the much-touted 4D silk fiber ones – always with the same frustrating, maddening result: unnatural, unflattering gunky lashes that look like they have tar on them. And none of those mascaras made my lashes look longer. So I settled for falsies (Ardell has some very natural ones). Problem is the glue is sometimes a you-know-what to remove.
I was roaming about the supermarket the other day and stumbled on this little gem. It was on sale so I said, Why not. Well, what do you know. FINALLY, A WINNER! Not too dry, not too liquid, goes on like a dream. I put a coat on, comb it gently with a metal lash comb, do the other eye. Repeat. Perfect. I have long (yes, long), full, flirty eyelashes that do not look gunky. Do they look like falsies? Of course not. How can ghost lashes like mine look like falsies, without looking gunky. Besides, I have my Adrells for that. But my eyes look wonderfully open and expressive, even with minimal e/shadow-e/liner. And, oh look, I have lashes. I’m definitely going to stock up on this lovely mascara before some idiot at L’Oreal decides to discontinue it (shudders and crosses fingers).

I have gone through about three tubes of this mascara so far. It’s lengthening and volumnizing, and it’s really easy to layer without getting spider lashes. One coat is pretty natural, while three coats is a lot more dramatic. However, I will say that like most mascaras it’s a little more difficult to work with when it’s fresh, up to about a week old. As it dries out just a bit it becomes the best drugstore mascara I’ve found so far, comparable to the covergirl lashblast lines (but less spidery).
It does flake if you end up wearing it for a long time, but I’d rather dust off some flakies throughout the day than have spider lashes (aka the Falsies mascara). Doing setting spray before mascara has helped with the flaking quite a bit. The container is fine, but sometimes extra mascara gets gunked up on the screw portion and can make it difficult to open and close when it’s really old.
Still, this is my daily mascara right now, and I’m very happy with it.

I bought this when i was looking for thr classic loreal Voluminous in blackest black. The original has been out forever and is still a very good mascara, especially for the price. (It was only 5.75 at the store I went to). I decided to try this instead. I have used all the popular high-end options like Benefit “they’re real” and “roller lash”, Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir (which is a great mascara if u are looking for a high-end one), 5 different varieties of Lancome, Too faced better than sex, various ones by tarts, guerlain, etc. This gives as full of a lash as the expensive varieties, but it is extTemely hard to work with. You will definitely need a lash comb. I’m not sure if it’s due to the “fibers” ( I’m not sure if there are literally fibers in this, since when u try it on ur hand it has very few if any), but this mascara is extremely hard to apply evenly and without your lashes clumping together. Even the first coat will be clumpy and thick. I would not attempt anything more than 2 coats of this. As I stated, you will definitely need a lash comb to comb out the clumps and separate your lashes between coats. I’m serious, don’t buy this if you don’t have a lash comb or are not willing to buy one or go through the hassle of using it between coats. This will give long full lashes, but I suspect anyone who is a makeup beginner will be covered in clumps and “spider leg” looking lashes. I am not a makeup beginner by any means, and even I had a hard time making this look nice. The other issue is that is has quite a bit of fall out, perhaps also due to the fibers. What I mean by that, is that you may end up with little black dots on your face more than likely. To be honest, if you have seen the ads for the brand Younique and you laugh at the clumpy Spider-leg look, this is not for you unless you are ok with taking your time and being careful. This is also not for you if you are very inexperienced with makeup. As far as mascaras go, this was is not user-friendly at all. (I know it sounds wierd to say That about a mascara, but some are easier than other to make look nice) That being said, it is capable of giving long and thick eyelashes. The look is very comparable to the aforementioned Younique. If you don’t like that look, then avoid.

I am really impressed by Loreal lash paradise, but I prefer the wand of this false fiber mascara. The concept of fibers really sparked my curiosity. I have very straight lashes that go straight out and down. I have to heat my eyelash curler and hold in place until it cools off to keep my lashes curled up.
I used Lash Paradise on one eye and this mascara on the other. When I applied this to my eye, it was like watching a flower die. My eyelashes went straight down slowly. I was so sad, I had one beautiful eyelash and one sad eyelash.
I do like the wand and the gold case even though the gold container looks cheap. The price is right and it might work for someone else.

I must admit, I was in a BOGO mood at Walgreens a few days ago, yet only select L’Oreal mascaras were on sale, really shaping the purchases made. I knew nothing of this mascara in terms of reviews which is unlike so it is a happy surprise that I can say how well Voluminous False Fiber Lashes solves my needs.
Be aware that I use this product over L’Oreal’s lash primer, really using it to stretch my lashes. Although this does make my lashes white I have no problems with covering this as one applies this mascara. I typically have more hate than love with different formulas but I found this mascara really easy to apply from lash to tip. The Brush does not look like anything special but it leaves me with long, think, defined and clump free lashes. It is worth explaining that I have dry skin that I add beauty oil that may get on my lashes leading all mascaras to smear and flake and look horrible after a short while. Because of this, I now seal mascara with L’Oreal’s tubing mascara which make the entire lash basically bullet-proof. No smearing or flaking and I don’t break off tubes and loose them as fallout, an issue I have with other tubing mascaras. This combination gives me hyper-natural looking and I give all the credit to Voluminous False Fiber Lashes, not the tubes I add over it as the tubes have no volumizing powers of it’s own, and don’t look great on their own.
The only thing I would change is that the top of the tube which I hold in my hand during application pokes me uncomfortably. I would love the design of the top to be changed as the poking is really distracting, to the point that I tried a disposable mascara wand but the I prefer the included brush better, as it really makes me look like I have feathery, fanned out lashes so I will get over the poking, but makes me wonder if anybody actually held it in their hand while designing this mascara tube.
I totally recommend this mascara, I hope it does not fail anybody in the longevity department, and if so maybe try the tubing mascara over it and see what happens.

It’s definitely not for everyone (as you can tell by the variance in reviews, lol.) However, personally I love it. Careful application will give you a true falsie lash look. Never experienced any fallout, smudging as far as clumping – I always comb through each application if needed. Leaves a semi matte finish on lashes.

Will not buy again. Actually makes lashes appear longer and little fuller but makes them hard. Clumps flake off sometimes with actual lashes. Definitely not for everyday use as I believe it eventually makes your lashes thin out.

Meh. I tried this on the recommendation of a customer but sadly did not work for me. I love the idea of fibers to elongate my lashes, and it did give nice length AND volume, but it just ended up flaking tiny clumps into my eyes. I rarely get flaking but this one did. It seemed to make my lashes feel rough and if I touched my lashes, I got flakes on my fingers. Not sure if perhaps layering another mascara over top would help prevent this.
The brush is decent, the colour a nice rich black (I got blackest black) and the packaging is snazzy (what’s not to like about shiny gold packaging?) but it just did not blow me away. I haven’t discarded it yet… but I think twice about giving it another go. I give it the ‘side eye’… “you gonna flake in my eye again?”

If you are looking for a “natural” look then do not purchase this mascara. This is for people who love dramatic voluminous lashes. When I first began using this I loved how quickly I can apply my mascara because it dries very fast and I am one who does more than 1 coat of mascara. If gave me lots of volume and length without smudging. After continuous use I noticed the wand and product was more dry therefore giving me volume but not much length so I now mix it with the original voluminous mascara. I also wish the wand were shaped like a regular mascara. The twisted bristles make application a bit more difficult. I liked it but I will not repurchase because I prefer the original voluminous mascara.

No matter what other mascara I try I always end up coming back to this one. With proper application, this mascara adds volume and length while leaving no clumps. For a more dramatic look, you are able to build volume with extra coats and it will still not clump! Not many mascaras will allow that. I’ve gotten many complements on my lashes since using this mascara and I recommend it to anyone and everyone who asks.
Disclaimer: I have read the other reviews left for this product and many complain about smudges after a few hours of wear. I do not experience this problem at all, however I don’t tend to get oily eye lids or undereyes. I WILL say that if you do tend to have oily/water eyes it does not surprise me that you would experience smudging because this product comes off VERY easily when exposed to water (or oils). I would not recommend this mascara be worn to the pool or beach if you are looking to go for a swim.
