It is very hard to find fragrance free facial sheet masks. And I was mainly concerned about this product as I have tried Hada Labo hyaluronic acid serums in the past and they seemed to make my very dry face drier some hours after applying. This mask really temporarily plumps up my skin and it does not irritate my sensitive, rash prone skin. I don’t have issues with butylene glycol and my skin loves glycerin (both ingredients are at top of the ingredient list) so I rub in the left over serum and this helps smooth out tones lines for the evening (if only it was permanent). I use it for special occasions and love it and find it extremely effective.

Not a fan. The envelope says “Free from parabens, fragrance, dyes and mineral oils”, which sounds great until you see that BHT is the 4th ingredient!!!
It’s a super wet mask and you’re not supposed to rinse the excess serum off after you remove the mask. But it was running down my face, BHT and all, so I wiped it off and woke up the next morning with awful cystic acne.

This is a 100% cotton sheet mask containing .7 oz of serum in mask packet. This is an unscented, very wet mask that is easy to apply. Press the mask on and leave it for 10-15 minutes. You are not supposed to rinse off the excess serum, but I did because it was a lot of serum left on my face after removing the sheet mask. Overall, I found this to be non-irritating, easy to use and hydrating. My skin felt soft and moisturized after use. It did not look like I had improved skin texture, elasticity, smoothness or firmness like the package claims it will. A novelty item that was fun to try as I am a true mask addict. I like the Karuna hydrating mask better than this one.

I am very familiar with Asian sheet masks so I tried this one since it was gaining hype. Immediately I wasn’t impressed since BHT was listed as the fourth ingredient (meaning it was fourth largest amount of an ingredient used) and this is a known, medium-level offensive toxin (not all antioxidants are made the same!) and “old school” preservative. However, I tried it for the sake of beauty reviewing and again, was not impressed. The following day my pores were gigantic, and somehow I had pores on my cheek that I’ve never seen before. My normally beautiful wearing Armani foundation emphasized pores and dots all along my face, the entire day and following day. My skin felt soft but looked horrible! Overall, the mask did nothing to improve the overall texture and didn’t provide any more hydration than any other mask I’ve used.
I recommend passing on this one; if sheet masks are your thing, try out a Korean-based sheet mask which usually boast natural, plant-based benefits (like aloe, pomegranate, etc) but overall provide better skin benefits with healthier ingredients. I’ve been using Korean sheet masks for years and they really do work and also provide great value!

These are really fun. Very much like Asian sheet masks, though this is part of Hada Labo’s US line. So the formulations of the products are slightly different than Hada Labo masks. This has no oil in it which I like. I was worried it has Methylisothiazolinone, a sensitizing preservative. it didn’t bother me. You open the pack and take out the dripping sticky mask and carefully unfold it and place it on your face. This is typical of Asian sheet masks, but very different than western masks. It’s made of cotton and has holes for the eyes ,mouth and nose. This one has slits so you can adjust the size to your face a bit, overlapping them. It’s messy but fun.
The Tonly Moly Hyaluronic masks I have used were a little bit smaller, otherwise quite similar. This has Hada Labos Super Hyaluronic Acid though and no castor oil. Also has soy peptides. I was using the Korean masks wrong (not reading Korean). I left them on longer and saved the extra serum for reuse. I left this on the recommended 20 minutes and added all the extra serum. That makes you super sticky for a while, which I liked. I sprayed a mist of water on my face after as HA soaks up water. This is supposed to be uesd at night. But it did not give me that plumped look that I get from the Tony Moly HA mask. Nor did I feel as moisturized. Those are cheeper. I am really surprised as I love Hada Labo products. But this is still a very good mask and available in the US.
