The key to this mascara system is to apply the mascara and QUICKLY apply the fibers while the mascara is still wet so the fibers stick onto your lashes instead of drop down all over your face, and, UGH, when it does!! I purchased several of these Physicians Formula mascaras JUST TO HAVE THE FIBER tube, as it can be used with any slow drying mascara (so they stick on.) However, the mascara with this dries out very quickly and doesn’t work so well over time, so try your fav slow-drying mascara and it may be helpful as to not throw out the fiber tube….However again, it you apply your mascara over the fibers your mascara may be clogged up with fibers afterwards… OH, so complicated!! Sorry. Best to all you wishing for great lashes girls, like me.

This mascara does take some time to get use to. The first time I used it, my lashes looked like a hot clumpy mess and I didn’t want to use it anymore. So I started reading other reviews online and I used some of the tips I saw. You first use the big tube of mascara first. I make sure to put on a nice coat of mascara first. Then you have to use smaller tube, which have the fibers in them, and I tap the wand to get the excess fibers off and then apply the fibers. I focus from the middle to the tip of my lashes. This seems to make things less clumpy and I don’t get any into my eyes or on my face. Last, you put one more coat of mascara on. And when I’m done, my eye lashes are so much longer and fuller. I know the extra steps can be time consuming, but it is worth it in the end for fuller and longer lashes.

I actually like this mascara, but I see how it might not be for everybody. I had never seen or heard of a system like this where you apply mascara, then add additional loose fibers to create the illusion of longer lashes before applying a final coat, so I didn’t know what I was getting myself into. The first time I used it I looked crazy. All it did was make my short but dense lashes look clumpy and messy… After some trial and error however, I got the length and the volume I was after, and though it can get a little messy, I would say for a drugstore brand, it’s worth the price. I usually wear falsies because my natural lashes are so short, but on days I don’t have time for falsies, this mascara works wonders for me. To get the product to lengthen be sure not to apply the fibers like a regular mascara… Slowly build them up on the tips of your lashes and go from there!

I am a mascara junkie and I saw hype about this, I forget where, Good Housekeeping maybe, and boy did they ever talk this up. It’s three steps, first what is a mediocre at best mascara, followed by some dry stuff that I suppose it the extension, then while wet finish with the first product again. You get NO significant length, it smudges big time a couple hours later and it’s a lot of work for what ends up being one of the worst mascaras I’ve ever used. Don’t believe what’s written about this, you’ll see this off the market as soon as women wise up and don’t purchase or repurchase.

Neat idea but a complete fail for me. So this mascara comes in 2 bottles, one is like a traditional mascara (you apply this first), then you apply the smaller tube which is a bunch of little lint-like fibers that attach to the mascara and your face and everywhere else. Then you reapply the mascara tube again to hold your lash lint in place and are left with a clumpy awful mess, itchy red eyes and bits of lint all over your face. I really wanted this to work out but it was terrible. Will not repurchase.

I wanted to like this. Pooh, how I wanted to like this. Being a mascara aficionado, I was excited at the prospect of fabulous false lashes. Sigh. First of all, the fibers make a mess under my eyes no matter what I do, as I apply. Secondly. They make a mess under my eyes as they fall off throughout the day. And thirdly they make a mess under my eyes as my eyes tear after same fibers fall into my eyes throughout the day! My question to the Physician Formula folks – did you ever test this stuff? Lesson? Save your $12

For reference I have very long lashes, and down-turned eyes.
I received this as full size free sample, and was very disappointed. It includes the two products.
First, the fiber product. This was unbelievably messy to work with. Even after strongly tapping the excess on the wand away, I still ended up with product on my eyeballs. (not fun) After a few solid attempts at making this work, it went into the trash bin. I couldn’t apply it without getting it in my eyes, and all over my face.
Then you have the mascara. Applied with the fiber, it did add a bit of fullness. But it was incredibly difficult to work with. It applied so clumpy and sticky. I combed through lashes, but many were still stuck together. After I tossed the fiber product, I tried to use just the mascara by itself. It adds nice length, ok curl, but very little fullness. Same problems though, very clumpy and applied to lashes unevenly. The product stayed quite tacky on my lashes. It left my lashes very hard and crispy feeling, and when I touched around my eyes, it rubbed off onto fingers, and flaked. After it finally sets, it is difficult to remove.
It is just a very messy product that is difficult to work with. You can achieve decent fullness and length, but it takes a LOT of work and time.
There are tons of other great products out there, that work just as well and are half the work. I get better fullness from smashbox, and better curling from roller lash. (both are easy to use)

This is, by far, the BEST mascara I have ever used. Makes your lashes long and luscious looking…..don’t use the extra powder too much, find it gets in my eyes and makes them water but, if used sparingly and carefully, really thickens up sparse eyelashes. Well worth the $$. Have tried just about every mascara on the market….this one is the best.

I love this mascara! I was a loyal customer of Younique 3D Fiber mascara, but I got tired of paying the $35.00 and I had to always wait 3-4 days to get it shipped from CA because the representative I purchased it from lives in CA.
I had used the older version of Physicians Formula Booster Instant Lash Extension mascara. I did like it but not enough to stop using Younique 3D Fiber mascara. Recently I went to my near Ulta Beauty store to get a few beauty products and there it was on the register counter. Same packaging but the mascara tubes looked different, so I figured they must have changed something? Sure enough when I got home I compared them to the one I had at home and they were different. From the brush of the mascara to the outside look of the fiber tube. I am so impressed! WOW better and easier than before!!!
Yes, you will get some fiber flakes around the eyes but that comes with the territory when using this particular mascara either Physicians Formula or Younique. All I do is apply the mascara then the fibers and once I am completely done, I use a blush brush and remove the fiber around my eyes. If you try to remove them while applying the mascara it can be very annoying. So I just wait till the end.
I love it and the price is worth it $14.99 and you can buy it at any drug store anytime without waiting for shipping, I got it from Ulta.
FYI: the new packaging box says “Eye Booster Instant Doll Lash Extension Kit”

I have been experimenting with a few different lash fiber products. The mascara in this sucks. .it makes my lashes too curley, but I use the extentions part with pf Sexy cat eyes mascara and it works great. I like this product more then the younique 3d fiber but prefer the Essence lash powder.
