This mascara is a fairly thick formula that applies a little wet. It adds a fair amount of fullness but not much length, even with successive coats. I didn’t really notice the extra black color that it was supposed to deliver. I did notice that my lashes were kind of firm or crunchy giving a feeling of heaviness. I also think I had a reaction to this mascara and had watery, teary eyes every time I wore it. This did lead to some smudging, but I won’t blame the mascara for that. When mascara isn’t waterproof, its going to smudge with watery eyes. Overall, I just didn’t have a good experience with this mascara.

This was $10 at Ulta so I decided to give it a try. I really like it and don’t have any complaints! It’s a wet formula and can get a bit clumpy. I don’t mind some clumps. It also keeps my lashes lifted. It does dry hard, so some may not like it. Overall, it provides good volume and decent separation. I would buy again, but only for $10 at Ulta. That’s the price of a drugstore mascara and you get more product. They often have this $10 deal so keep an eye out for it!

I was very excited to try this mascara but unfortunately it doesn’t live up to my expectations. The brush is a nice size, but the formula is quite thick and wet and can apply quite clumpy. It gives a lot of volume but not length. I also find that it does tend to smudge and smear throughout the day – if you live somewhere humid then this is not the mascara for you. You can find much better at a much lower price point.

I am reevaluating all the mascaras I tested and this one is really performing well now. I think because I’ve had it a month it works better because it has dried out slightly. I love the soft brush which makes application so easy. It’s giving me lashes that are lush and full with no flaking or black clumps to comb out. It’s really superior to almost every other mascara I’ve tried lately. It just doesn’t give the amazing length that Telescopic gives, or I would give it the highest marks. It’s comparable to Diorshow and Chanel. Also, it does require pressing the lashes up with a finger before they dry, to give some curl and lift. I love this look even if it’s not perfect. It can look natural or dramatic depending on how much you put on.
This is why I go back and try again if I think I don’t like a new mascara. Sometimes it’s all in the application technique. Also a lot of the look depends on the other makeup used with it. Experimenting is the way to improve the look.
This is impressing me more as the day goes on. It’s not irritating, it’s not flaking, and the curl is still there. This is worth the premium price as it is comparable to all of the best high end mascaras I used in the past ten years.
– Update later in the evening. After precisely 11 hours a chunk of this product fell off my lashes and into my eye while I was in the grocery store. I tried to blink it away to no avail. I got home and saw that there were other stray flakes under the eye. Even after washing it off, which was not that easy, I can’t get that speck of mascara out. This is a deal breaker. I don’t care how stunning the lashes looked – it’s not worth any hazard to my eyes. Lowering my rating to 2, and reviewing my notes to stick with the ones that did not flake and were easy to wash off.

This is a pretty ordinary mascars (with an unjustifiably high price tag) but the real deal-breaker for me is that it smudges under my eyes after only a few hours. It does give my lashes some volume (some – not a lot), but there are better mascaras out there. Waste of money.

Ehh…..fairly standard mascara, nothing special in my opinion. It lengthens okay, but it is a stickier formula, so if you’re like me and it drives you crazy when your upper and lower lashes stick to each other, I would go with something else. This is also one of the only mascaras that has ever bled onto my upper lid….my lashes aren’t super long so it is apparently very sensitive to oil/smudges easily.

My sister swears by this mascara so I thought it would be great for me too. Her eyelashes look amazing with this mascara! She definitely has longer lashes than mine though, and that makes a difference. This gives me decent-but-not-too-thick volume, but it doesn’t give me much length at all. Also, it’s not as black as I wish it would be. Or maybe it’s just too matte? In any case, this is merely and okay mascara, and I’m super glad I bought the $12.00 sample size and not the full tube. I think this is probably supposed to be used with the Subversion Lash Primer. I’m not paying $46.00 (cost of primer and mascara) for lashes that aren’t a dream come true. I’ve tried this with my lash primer (Essence) and it didn’t look any different. I think this formula is for those who want volume but not length and curl.

I’ve repurchased this a few times because it’s just a good go-to mascara. The results aren’t dramatic, life changing epic lashes, but it is a mascara that’s fuss-free, reliable, and looks good.
If you’re looking for heavy dramatic lashes, this is not the mascara for you. I personally opt for length and definition over volume, so I like mascaras that look natural, and this fits all my criteria. Good length, great definition, decent curling and volume.
The formula is a little wetter than the average mascara, so it needs a bit of drying time in between layers, but this then allows for better definition, plus you can really build layers if you want to.
It stays on all day, doesn’t smudge or flake, and is easy to remove. However, I do find it smudges and gradually disappears if used on the bottom lid. I especially love this for travel because then I’ll only need to bring one kind of makeup remover for the whole face (usually micellar water).
I only every buy the travel size for high end mascaras because I throw them out religiously every 4-6 months. In my experience, the travel size is more than enough to last you 5 months of almost daily use.

Average mascara for me. Not awful, but not “pull out my wallet” worthy either.
It did give some volume/length to my eyelashes. However, it wasn’t to the same extent I have gotten other mascaras to work for me. I was pretty surprised because when I first saw the wand head (full/lots of bristle) I thought it would have more punch once applied. For whatever reason I had difficulty using the wand! The head was almost too big and I keep (to this day) bumping it on my eyelid during application. This might just be user error and that I need to get used to this particular brush, but I’ve never had issues with other mascaras!
A big positive for me is I never encountered flaking or smudging after the mascara set. However, this isn’t something that would push it to above average. I have other products that are easier for me to apply, look better, and stay all day. All in all – it’s okay. I’d use if I have to or if I got a sample, but wouldn’t put it on a bday wish list!

This is my love mascara for the last 3 years.
It makes the lashes long, full, almost false lash effect, it doesn’t dissolve in water, tears or other liquids, it doesn’t spread, it’s easy to apply, it stays on even after working out, it doesn’t dry in the vial.
It is a bit pricey, but I use it every day and the product lasts for 8 months, up to an year.
I buy it over and over.
