I heard the great reviews for this so I had to have it. I couldn’t find it in store so I ordered online from ebay. I only had to pay about $2 more, which I try to avoid, but I was hoping it would be worth it. I admit I have to update when I actually use it, but I had to post now because I realized right away that the ingredients list on here was wrong. It left out the last few items, including butylene glycol, which I try to avoid. I hope it still works for me, but I might not have bought if if I knew. I updated the ingredients list and will update this review as well.
Ok on to the review:
So I finally tried it a few times so I could get an idea of how it works. I put it repeatedly on a stubborn bump to see if it would go down and I definitely did not see the ‘over night shrinking’ that others mentioned. I did that for a few days too, not just one. I recently changed face washes and that’s been helping my skin overall get less pimples. But. I also sometimes use a 10%BP cream as a spot treatment along with this, and though that’s also high rated, the truth is that for me, nothing really makes them go down that fast once they start to form. What usually happens (to me, and including when I tried this product) they shrink a little but often come back up and that game goes on for a few days until I cave and pop them. They seem to never really vanish unless I get the gunk out. Idk if that’s just my skin, but I’ve noticed mine never seem to go away on their own (or with a product) even weeks later, unless I pop them.
To it’s credit, I will say this has been tremendously helpful for applying to a popped pimple and having it heal really quickly without getting infected or leaving a red mark. So while I’m happy for that, I still wish it would be a bit more preventative. I still use it on new pimples though, hoping it will make them go down anyway before I pop them. But I notice it really working best after the fact.
Price wise this is great and I wish I could find it in store for the $3 it’s advertised as. Even buying on ebay for about $6 isn’t bad and possibly worth it. I also like the applicator a lot. I was looking at the Zit Zapper when I found this and I agree it’s a better package design. The other thing I absolutely love is that it’s clear. Because I suffered from chronic acne and whiteheads and tend to pretty much pop way too much, I’m always wearing some kind of spot treatment and they usually aren’t clear so I never want to leave the house or have to wait until night time. Having this in a clear formula is sooo fantastic for ongoing treatment that no one else can see.
The biggest downside is it’s extremely small and runs out super fast. Like FAST. Pretty much all the product you get is in that clear little window, which is just a major bummer. Mine ran out in like, a month? So while I like it, it’s hard for me to keep buying it with shipping costs and all. But I feel like I’d get desperate and need it and buy it during sales.
On my second one, and after thinking I couldn’t use any SA I realize this does help a little, but like all acne treatments, you have to be careful with sensitive skin because it does peel after too many uses. I use it now on unpopped deep ones as well as ones I popped, and I’m seeing some results.
Update: I couldn’t tell if this was helpful or not but I do tend to have problems with chemical exfoliants (salicylic, etc). It would seem to help and then a few days later I’d have a lot more bumps around the area which would then kind or grow or I’d mess with them (or both). So while I sometimes liked this, after the second one I decided I probably won’t get it again.

Love it. For 3$ it’s a steal and actually works much better than other spot treatments (I have Burt’s bees herbal blemish stick and anti-blemish solution, tea tree oil from BodyShop and several other pricy spot treatments) This one simply works the best. I apply it for night on the pimple and it will disappear (or at least gets smaller) the next morning. Of course it works best if you apply it at the early stage of acne/pimple/zit.
Main ingredient is Salicylic Acid and I know there are people for whom it doesn’t works well, but for me it works great, faster and more effective than other treatments. In general I don’t have much problems with skin, but have pimples from time to time during stress and hormone issues.
Great pros:
– no smell,
– absorbs fast,
– transparent and
– doesn’t leave any film on the skin!
It has the brush at the tip, so you don’t need to touch your skin with fingers or apply it with cotton balls: good economy + hygienic.
Packaging is great: so easy to use and to take with you in the bag.
Highly recommended. Will definitely repurchase!

$3. Great to have on hand. Put it in your purse, whatever. It is slick and nice. I like how you can twist the bottom to dispense the product (unlike the zit eraser for $1) and put as much as you want on your zit area. When I feel like a zit is going to pop up, I rub it on the area, and ta da, no zit the next day! No irritated skin! It does have a smell but I’m not sure what – kind of like tea tree oil or something? I have had no problems with how much it lasts. I’ve been overusing mine and there’s still plenty of product.

For this to be so cheap, this is actually a very effective product. It has several beneficial ingredients. Clears up blemishes quickly.

I bought this again cause i was breaking out really bad. For a couple of days a gave my face break from makeup. The only thing that i would apply was this product. So i applied it through out the day. It really help did help me with the redness and for the zit to go away.

I had a deep pimple (gross) that I tried a number of products on and this was the only thing that actually worked! This product is great!

I don`t get many pimples, but when I do this makes them go away very quickly. I like the packaging, you can`t beat the price. $3.00 on the elf website.

I ordered this last month because I had gone through two samples of Clinique Spot Healing Gel and still wasn’t convinced I needed to go for the full size. (That stuff was all right … but pretty heavy duty in terms of smell and it was just too drying. Definitely not a miracle worker anyway.) When I first used the Zit Eraser, I was skeptical, thinking, “It can’t be working! It’s not making my eyes tear! I don’t feel it stinging!” (I guess sometimes when you have a zit that’s really driving you nuts, you almost want to feel it die.) Well, in the morning the swelling had completely disappeared without looking dried up and crusty; I still noticed redness but my skin felt smooth. Although the clearing-up time was about the same, usually my breakouts get worse before they get better … This time, it actually didn’t get worse. I did try another reviewer’s idea of applying it over the pores around my nose and saw a significant improvement. Now I feel like I can actually put some of my trust in this little pen, even if it doesn’t smell like permanent marker or burn like battery acid.

NOT to be confused with e.l.f. zit zapper – this is “zit eraser”.
I was hesitant to purchase this, but I was putting in a big order and decided to add it in. When I got it, I used it that night and already I saw a difference in my skin, so I continued to use it every day. It has dried up my acne without drying out my skin. I also used it on my nose to cleanse my pores and my pores are less noticeable now. It’s a great product and for $3 it’s a total steal. I will be purchasing again!
