I’ve been trying it. I don’t have acne problems just a few sun spots and old scars from large zits etc. my skins always been good, even, not dry not oily. So it’s been a little over a week and it’s made my skin completely uneven red bumpy mess. It was fine before! I keep looking at reviews to keep me going and of course all I find is it’s great. It goes away and comes back on every time I apply.
I usually use the simple line with less chemicals bc apparently my skin is picky. Even after applying this moisturizer it it’s feels like it’s very lightly burning. So if you have skin that hates chemicals/fragrance etc I’d stay clear. Now if only the stores around here carried the whole simple line ugh!

I have just finished up a bottle, after about 3 months use. There are some good things about this serum, but my TLDR judgement is that I wouldn’t rebuy.
First off, the packaging is very pretty; futuristic and flashy. It was obviously carefully designed to make people think that this is fancy and effective. Airtight, keeps the ingredients stable and hygienic, the pump dispenses just the right amount. I’m going to try to repurpose the bottle.
The serum is pearly and has shimmer and leaves a “glow” that is purely cosmetic. It has a bit of scent, which usually doesn’t work for me but didn’t aggravate my skin. It sets to a slightly tacky finish. It didn’t play well with any of my makeup, it rolled and balled up despite multiple formulas and application techniques. Powder was the only one that worked.
It was effective in fading newer post acne marks. I get quite bad red marks on my cheeks and chin, and this was amazing at getting rid of the newest red marks in about 2 weeks. It also did not cause breakouts, and did not trigger redness due to sensitivity, which was pretty amazing for me. Older marks (like 3+ months) were a bit more variable, there might have been some slight fading, and maybe with time it would have worked. But I feel like there must be better options out there, that will give me more in terms of anti aging and moisture (when I was younger and my skin was more hardy, glycolic acid toners were my jam). I’m now testing out Olay 7 effects fragrance free.

I bought this serum about a couple of weeks ago along with the day/night cream..So i far I haven’t seen any noticeable results. I like how the serum feels on my skin but it really didn’t help fade my post acne/dark spots which is the sole reason for purchasing this. It is too illuminating for my skin, no matter how little I put on. Ive tried many products that illuminate my skin that I find to work better than this does. I would not repurchase this serum or the day/night cream.

I decided to buy this after watching a video on youtube, where a girl kept saying “It works!”. well, she was right, after only 1 week, I already notice that my sunspots are less visible, so, for me this works. I have 2 big sunspots on my cheeks, and the one in the right side was reduced to half the original size. I live in Europe where loreal is not very expensive, so I will probably buy the day cream too.
edit: great results after 2 weeks, I am now also using the day cream
edit 2: unfortunatelly, this seems to agravatte blackheads

I had such high hopes for this product and I am so disappointed. Wasted $20 just for a product that breaks me out. I don’t see any red marks healing, all it does is give me huge painful white heads.

Since I wanted a serum and was looking for something to diminish the dark spot on my check, I purchased this product. While it feels nice on the skin, it had not helped the spot nor does it really help improve the look of my skin. I have almost finished the bottle and will not purchase again.

I normally don’t like the Youth Code products but i absolutely LOVE this product. I have an uneven skintone to begin with but recently developed sun spots on my forehead which is why i decided to try the dark spot corrector serum. I use it after washing my face and before applying my moisturizer, twice daily all over my face. It’s only been 2 weeks and the sun spots are less noticable & my overall skintone has improved greatly. I’ll definitely continue using this and highly recommend it. It’s great for dark spots and/or uneven skin tone. Even my acne spots are less noticable

For the love of God, don’t buy this!
I never had good experience with L’Oreal moisturizer products. They are just useless. They don’t really do anything or improve anything. However, they seem to be harmless, only give you occasional break out. But it can go away quickly and I can get rid of them easily with some cream that contains retinol. So I always manage to finish the whole bottles just to be not wasteful and want to finish my product test. You have to finish the whole bottle to confirm the test result, right? Otherwise, people can always say you don’t see the good result because you didn’t continue using it until you finished the whole thing.
This product is probably more useless than other L’Oreal products. This time, I can not finish the whole bottle because my skin not only did not improve but gets worse. Darker spots didn’t fade one bit of course, my skin tone looks even more uneven than before. Oh my God, what have I done to myself? Now my pores get bigger, Jesus Christ. My pores used to be very small and I felt lucky I had one less problem to deal with. Now I have one more problem to deal – big pores. Thanks to L’Oreal.
Finally, I had it. I threw the whole bottle away. I will never buy L’Oreal skin products again.

I happen to be in a department store and was looking at the Lancome counter and saw Dreamtone serum being touted as being the most amazing new serum on earth for lightening dark spots. Knowing that L’Oreal and Lancome are owned by the same company I decided to try Youth Code Dark Spot corrector as supposedly the ingredients are the same.
I currently use renova and kinerase for my skincare routine, and have a small smattering of sun spots beneath both eyes that I cover everyday with concealer. I used this serum faithfully for two months now applying twice a day, and have noticed absolutely no difference in the sun spots beneath my eyes. It did not break me out, I did not have any negative reaction whatsoever to the product, but it really did nothing for me. Packaging was nice, the price was not expensive considering that it does last awhile, and I’ll use it until it’s completely empty, but I will not repurchase.
Maybe it will work best for people with very light melasma, or speeds the process of fading acne marks, but my sun spots that were unable to be lightened/eliminated by renova still very much remain the same.

I bought this product with high expectations, assuming that it would be the answer to my sunspots and acne scar, unfortunately, after using this product for a few weeks I don’t see any significant results, and I can’t stand the oily/ stick residue feeling it leaves behind.
Definitely will not purchase this product again.
