This is the face mist from hell. Let me start off by saying that I don’t consider myself to have sensitive skin by any means… I can slap on almost any product and never have reactions. This time however, I did. I was strolling through Ulta and saw the Say Yes to Cucumbers Face Mist, and it being a typical hot day in Miami decided to give myself a quick trial mist. Not more than 5 seconds after spraying, my face felt sticky. Right after it started itching, and then the burning commenced. By the time I got to a mirror I saw that my face was red and shiny… Completely gross. This went away after a few hours, but I’m still traumatized. Beware, and test this befor you buy it!

This product is a great facial mist to prep my face in the morning for moisturizer. I also use it as a makeup setting spray. The mist is even and stayed even until the last spritz when it suddenly fizzled out. I highly recommend this product, but I wish a cap came with the product.

The Cooling Hydrating Mist is awesome for the reason that it’s a multiuse facial mist by the “Yes To” skincare line; I have been using their skincare products for over a year now & this is now one of the few treatments I will even put on my face. I consider this to be a combination hydrator or moisturizer / cooling mask / makeup setting spray. It’s a new product & it only took a week for me to decide I like it more than both of the other moisturizes I have from the Tomato & Grapefruit lines. Prior to this, I was using “Daily Balancing Moisturizer” & “Even Skin & Tone Moisturizer.” I’m not going to pitch them since they’re good, but this has been better for me. Like I said, it’s to the point where I’ll be honest & say I’m not interested in using anything else anymore. I recommend this product.
I was surprised the first time I applied it. I wasn’t expecting any sensation or any scent. The aloe’s actually soothing & the menthol really has a cooling effect. The mist is comforting because aloe has anti-inflammatory properties; it’s just an opinion… don’t quote me on that! The effect is a sigh of relief – finally putting aloe vera on a sunburn. It’s the same refreshing or relaxing feeling. I’m all for the minty smell & feeling, too. Menthol gives a feeling of coolness & I like that it smells fine. I don’t mind it since it’s natural & didn’t affect me negatively.
I apply this daily both on my bare face & over makeup because it doesn’t mess up my foundation or eyeliner. They don’t market this as a makeup setting spray, but you can double up & use it to treat your face if you’re wearing any that day. I mostly use this on my bare skin to enjoy the cooling hydrating & cooling benefits after I cleanse my skin, or if I’m going outside. What I do is close my eyes (obviously haha) & hold the pump down 3 or 4 seconds. So I can cover all my face, I move my arm in a spiral motion. It’s dry in less than a minute & leaves my skin soft. It didn’t take a week for me to see the different not touching my face as much makes.
Cooling Hydrating Mist is formulated for sensitive skin, but is fine for all skin types to use. I hit the trifecta with such lovely oily, acne prone, sensitive skin ~end sarcasm~. Thankfully, I didn’t break out (any worse than usual) & I didn’t have any allergic reaction. My skin looks & feels better after using this than nearly anything similar that I have tried. I can hydrate my skin during the daytime & not look oily; hydrating without adding oil or clogging my pores is what I want & need. It means a lot that I can feel confident in knowing I no longer have to choose between moisturizing, looking sweaty & dirty, or breaking out.
There is a “con,” which I dismiss on a personal level, but it is something I know people would be concerned about. While this treatment is 95% natural, there is added fragrance/perfume. I’m sensitive to ingredients & not scents, so I don’t care. I can hardly do anything to treat my acne & I have skin that’s too sensitive to acne treatments; though, I won’t cough, sneeze, or get headaches if something isn’t unscented. It’s not a con for me in particular. I just know that might be to someone else.
