This is a review for the Vitamin A Renewal cream. It’s a fairly thick cream, kind of like a night cream texture. It stings a bit going on. Admittedly I’ve only been using it for a couple of weeks, but I haven’t noticed a difference in any of my skin issues. I do note that the key ingredient in this is retinyl palmitate, not retinoid which, while not the ‘retinol’ of the prescription treatments, apparently is converted to retinol by the body. According to an Allure article, retinyl palmitate and a few other retinol derivatives are not as effective and do not convert readily. So they are very gentle but may not being doing much. This checks out with my experience with this cream so far; I am trying to get rid of a patch of sun damage from a summer spent almost entirely outdoors a couple of years ago; and so far no improvement. I am going to take a look at The Ordinary granactive retinoid 2% Emulsion, which is apparently fairly highly acting and non-irritating. Also the price point is similar to Derma-E.
This isn’t a bad cream though per se. It’s a bit drying, but it’s not really irritating, and the ingredients list is very clean. It would be nice if Derma-E were to make a stronger retinol formulation, as their base formula for their creams is so great and soothing (at least in my experience).

I’ve been using this for a week, and truthfully my skin is doing a 180! Anything with retinol is essential for good skin care, and this was a fabulous price so I decided to try it. I suspect this product is now discontinued and replaced with something else since I cannot find it on their website. But anyway, the texture of skin is smoothing, more even, less bumpy, less broken out… likely less wrinkles but I have been “blessed” with oily skin so wrinkles aren’t my concern (at the moment! lol) … LOVE IT! The scent is not strong to me at all, and dries to a nice matte. I put it on at night only, along with an anti-aging serum. During the day I wear a light day cream. I will be purchasing either this exact creme or a different Derma E retinol product when I am finished this jar. 🙂

Sadly, I’ve been using this night cream for four months with virtually zero results.
I agree with the other reviewers: this night cream leaves a greasy feeling film that does not agree with oily or combination skin at all. It does moisturize, but that’s all it does. In all the time I’ve been using it, it hasn’t done a thing for my fine lines and forehead creases/wrinkles. In fact, they have even deepened due to some serious stress in my life lately showing on my face.
This night cream has been demoted to hand cream duty in order to use it up while I go in search of something that will be effective.

At first I really liked this product. It has a really nice texture that feels like a lot of other super expensive ant-aging creams out there. It does hydrate nicely, but it was bit greasy for me. The fragrance was way too strong and what I suspect caused me to break out from this creme. Price point is good, so maybe worth a try if you don’t have sensitive skin.

Oh, how I hate this night cream. The scent, although “natural,” is unnaturally STRONG. It’s what the term “old lady perfume” should mean in my mind.
I could have perhaps gotten over the scent as it fades, but it has other faults; the greasy texture feels like a film over my skin for sometimes hours on my combo-dry skintype. On top of that, it broke me out very badly! I am not talking retinol “purging” but full-on cystic acne.
My advice? Skip this product!
