In general, I have to say that The Ordinary products are working very well. I tried this serum in my morning routine instead of the magnesium one. It makes my skin softer, and it feels not as dry anymore, it’s an oily feeling but not bad though. I do feel like you have to use more products; otherwise, you won’t see any results. That’s a little drawback for me. I tried them for more than 2months, but in general, I am happy. But I am not sure if I am going to continue using them when they are empty!

I had moderate acne, dark spots from acne, and oily skin. I decided to try The Ordinary. I started using 4 products: salicylic acid solution, niacinimide + zinc, 5% lactic acid, and ascorbyl glucoside. My regimen is Just facial wash then one of those serums. Nothing else. I use the niacinimide then salicylic acid in the day (I wash my face twice at daytime) and on alternate nights, the lactic acid and ascorbyl Glucoside Solution. In two weeks, I saw improvement in my skin. I’ve been using it for two months now. My skin is so much smoother, clearer, brighter, and less oily. I love these products. They are so effective yet very affordable.

Background: oily t zone, acne prone & redness
I’m not really sure if this product brightened up my skin in the dark spots – like the shadow around my mouth. This serum has brightened the rest of my face though…to an extent. I don’t see too much benefit from using this so as soon as I finish the bottle, I won’t repurchase to see how my skin looks without it in my routine. It’s also one of the pricier products from The Ordinary line.

I’ll start with the pros. It works well with TO niacinamide to remove *recent* acne scars or PIH. Old PIH will take longer to fade and they don’t fade as much as the recent scars. I noticed a very minimal glow – a brightening effect the morning after use.
It doesn’t help fade the sun damage and hyperpigmentation patches.
There’s nothing to rave about and I found decent ordinary products that work better at fading scars and evening skin tone (ex. glycolic toner 7%).

I love Deciem products for their simplicity and effectiveness. Unfortunately I felt this serum has done nothing for my skin in any way. The formula feels sticky at first and will cause any water based treatments used before it to pill and flake even when you pat this into the skin. It’s moisturizing and sets quickly, however I will be trying another Vit C product from them when this is empty. (I might not even bother finishing this on my face, and just use it on the backs of my hands.) I had better and more immediate results with a crappy offbrand Vit C serum front winners.

I have extremely oily skin with some small normal areas near the perimeter of my face. I purchased this serum to treat the hyperpigmentation on my jaw and neck and for an overall glow. I found this serum moisturizing and very comfortable. It absorbed easily and did not reacted badly with my daily essences, toners, acids, moisturizers and sunscreen. I used it twice a day for a month and then only once a day in the morning. I won’t be repurchasing because, other than providing some moisture, I saw no discernible difference in my hyperpigmentation or the overall tone of my skin. If you are looking to add an vitamin c product for it’s antioxidant benefits only this may work for you but I did not achieve the results I was after.

Gentle (works nicely with Retin-a), effective and pleasing to use. well-packaged and cheap as chips. Not the fiercest Vitamin C serum out there but a good choice for a combination regime. Kudos to The Ordinary for making effective, affordable skincare accessible to the masses!

The Ordinary has healed my very sensitive, rosacea and acne prone skin. I use their hyaluronic acid as a base every morning and night. This smooths and plumps up my skin and prevents acne and rosacea from appearing. But in order to clear up redness and have some antioxidant support I layer this glucoside on top during the day. I like it because it’s water based and not at all greasy, which is great under sunscreen and makeup. It dries up quickly and then I don’t feel it at all. It makes my skin immediately brighter by clearing up redness and dullness. It’s completely non-irritating when I layer it on top of hyaluronic acid. Great for rosacea!!

I used this on every 3rd night for almost 2 months and saw nothing beneficial. I’m almost halfway through the bottle. One of my night creams has retinol in it – I wake up the next day looking great. The next night I use another night cream that has a variety of ingredients – I wake up looking good. The third night, I use this Ascorbyl Glucoside solution and layer a very mild cream over it for hydration. The next day, my skin looks the worst it’s looked all week. This gel just doesn’t do anything, and it has a sticky, tacky feel. It’s something that I *never* looked forward to putting on. I guess the selling point of Vitamin C is that it’s supposed to lighten pigmentation, but I have a longstanding acne scar that’s still just kickin’.
All I can say is, I never looked forward to putting this on because I hated the way it felt, and the next day I found nothing happy in the mirror, and I don’t think this has had any long term effect on my complexion. Canning it. At least it was cheap, I guess??? I have a drugstore night cream that was cheap, too, but it actually gives me results.
