The name of this product has change to Naruko Shine Control & Blemish Clear Serum.
It’s wierd because i’ve been using this for a few days now and i realized my skin popping more pimples. I do wear this before sleep and i found a few pimples coming out in the morning. I have check the ingredients and i’m sure i’m not allergic to any of the active ingredients.
The texture the other side is quite thick. I’m expecting the serume texture is light, thin and very absorbing. But this serum is thick and leaves sticky feeling on the skin.
I am very disappointed with this product as i’m loving the tea tree mask and cleaner in 1 so much.

Works wonderfully in oily skin and has a fantastic price.

I guess this just isn’t for me. Probably because my skin isn’t very oily. I have dry, clogged skin, and I bought this, hoping it can reduce the oil on the surface of my skin. It’s definitely not moisturising enough for me, and therefore it’s very light moisturiser.

I love this serum! I’ve used so many bottles and i keep buying 2 at a time so i won’t ra out of it. I feel this balances my skin and i won’t break out that much than without this. It’s really light and you only need a little. It soaks in nicely and doesn’t feel sticky or anything. Also it doesn’t make my break out which happens always very easily. I love this!

I’ve always had oily skin, so I’m often hesitant to use serums/moisturisers in the mornings. This product has slotted into my morning routine seamlessly. I’ve noticed that this has helped to reduced the amount of oil my face produces during the day. The other way I use this is at night premenstrually when I’m prone to bouts of acne. In these circumstances I’ll use this with the Tea Tree Oil Out Night gelly. This has worked rather well with maintaining my skin and preventing bad breakouts. You won’t see anything overnight but with continued use you’ll find it helps prevent acne and maintain your skin.
This serum has a cool, gel-like texture. It has a moderately strong tea tree scent but it doesn’t last too long. It absorbs fairly quickly but has a slight sticky feeling on first application. I love how clean and refreshed my skin feels when I use this and it works really well under makeup.
I bought this from the Naruko Australia site for about $19 which isn’t cheap but having said that I think it’ll last me about 3 months with daily use (2 pumps). The bottle’s quite a nice, sleek glass bottle with a pump so very hygienic. Can’t that this is the same for all Naruko’s serums e.g. the Majoram & lavender serum has a giant dropper which doesn’t work so well. I’ll probably use the tea tree serum pump for the major am/lavender serum when I finish the tea tree serum.
Anyway, all in all…I highly recommend this for girls battling oily/acne prone skin. I must admit, I was hesitant to try this brand at first because I’d never heard of it but the products have a higher percentage of ‘natural’ ingredients and it’s been really mild on my skin. I’ve tried two of their product lines now and I really recommend giving this brand a go.

A serum CAN be used as a moisturiser, based on your skin needs. Naruko’s founder, Niu Er has even said that for cash-strapped students, you can use their night gellies as a serum plus moisturizer. Everyone’s skin type differ. What works well for one may be an utter disaster for another.
Anyway, this retails for S$26.90 at selected Watsons outlets in Singapore. I decided to grab it after I ran out of the night gelly from the range. (I chose to try out their Lavender night gelly instead). This does help reduce oil production for me for around 3 hours, which isn’t spectacular but since my skin is so oily, it is quite alright as a product. What I really liked about this was how it significantly reduced my acne flare ups after four days of usage.
I use one pump of product per time, twice a day. I foresee this will last me for two months. I can’t say much for blackheads since I don’t really have any.
Texture-wise it is slightly thick but absorbs real quickly into your skin without forming a “layer”. You do need to massage it in, however.
I love the classy purple glass pump bottle it is stored in. I’m sure this bottle can be reused for other products, which is good.
Overall, I will repurchase this, only when there’s a discount or when i really have terrible breakouts.

In correction to the previous reviewer’s comments, this product is a serum – it should be used after toner and before a moisturizer. it cannot be used AS a moisturizer. If no moisturizer is applied after the serum, the slightly sticky texture remains, since it is not meant to be the end of a routine. Having said that, the serum may not work well with just any moisturizer. I am using the Narcissus hydrating & firming gel from Naruko and they seem to work perfectly together.
The serum is a clear, liquidy texture with the scent of tea tree and mint. It is somewhat cooling when applied. If you don’t like the minty scent, you probably won’t like this product at all as it is quite prominent.
This serum has helped reduce the oil production on my T-zone and helped clear and reduce the appearnce of my pores. In my opinion, it is quite effective, as I saw the effects after my 1st use and have continued to see effects. Yes, the texture feels slightly sticky after you massage it on. However, it is completely dissapeared after applying the Narcissus hydrating & firming gel, which completes my routine. The 2 together works well for reducing oil control and hydrating at the same time. My skin is left cooled and supple, no shine whatsoever, and pores are cleared and less visible.
The packaging is nice. Sturdy glass bottle with a pump dispenser. 2 pumps is enough for the whole face, 1 pump if only using for T-zone area. Definitely a must as part of my morning routine, especially for warmer months. It’s 20-something dollars, and it works!

This products is supposed to be for oily/acne-prone skin however the texture of it just did not sit well with me. It has a slight sticky consistency that reminds me of slime. gross much. After applying on my face, i have to massage it in and when it sets in, somehow my face appears shiny and feels sticky to touch. I tried using it as a moisturizer and also as a serum treatment but it’s no good for me at all. I feel like it doesn’t help me to reduce oil nor help with acne and as such I would not buy this again. Don’t recommend this item at all. Felt like i wasted my money. However, i would like to try the other lines from Naruko.
