…”However, it didn’t seem to do any more than that, and sometimes I think that it gives me more red spots on the forehead (this could be a coincidence, but I think that the citrus oils might irritate my skin there a little)…”
Well, not a coincident. I have the same problem. My forehead got totally red and itchy. Definitely not recommended for sensitive and allergic skin.

I got this product at a discount when ordering a bunch of other products online. I have always been intrigued by snail products, since they are said to have healing properties. I have rosacea, which means that my skin gets red and irritated, and sometimes I get red spots/rashes too.
I found this gel to be soothing and moisturising, and that it may have helped to calm my skin down after being in the sun (which usually wreaks havoc on my skin). However, it didn’t seem to do any more than that, and sometimes I think that it gives me more red spots on the forehead (this could be a coincidence, but I think that the citrus oils might irritate my skin there a little).
I probably won’t buy this product again, since it’s not very cheap and since I didn’t seem to get the results I wanted. I think it might be better for anti-aging purposes.

I bought the Dr Organic Snail Gel and also the Snail Cream and have been using the two products now for 2 weeks. Both are packaged in attractive jars, but I would have preferred a pump application due to hygienic reasons.
The snail gel is of a thick consistency and glides on the skin, it seems slightly tacky at first but it absorbs in well. It has a strong lemony smell, which personally I don’t like. Dr Organic’s instructions mention that you should use a moisturizer afterwards. I actually got the gel first and thought how good my skin looked, then went to buy the moisturizer.
The snail cream is very rich and moisturizing. Once again in a jar. To me, it is amazing. I have been using it on my neck and face, and noticed after only a week how the lines on my neck are looking much improved. My skin feels buttery soft after the application.
I think that you need to use a product for several months to get good results, since your skin takes a month or so to regenerate. But in the 2 weeks I’ve been using Dr Organic Snail Gel and Cream, I have already seen an improvement in the glow and texture of my skin.

As part of the 2 for 1 deal at Holland & Barrett (IRELAND), I bought this on a surprising whim. Initially, it was the Vitamin E oil that I was after because I needed some hydration.
After my nightly cleansing routine, I applied a few drops of the Vitamin E on face and gave it time to settle (about 5-10 minutes) before applying the Snail Gel. It came in the pump pack so the application was clean and even. Since I wasn’t used to cold climates, I used 2 pumps of the gel because my skin was so dry! It feels like a watery scone cream and smells like lemon grass. At first it appeared greasy after application which was most likely due to putting too much on but in the morning my skin looked super awesome!
You can use it in the morning just before you apply your daily moisturiser but I feel that it’s more suitable for a night routine.
My skin is a combination of oily and dry. Whilst in cold climates, it becomes super dry and in warm climates like the one in Melbourne, I have a constant oil slick sheen on my face.
I did this for about a week until I was satisfied and only used 1 pump after that. My skin started became more even and drifted into the normal skin category! I have to buy this in bulk when I’m Ireland because I have even scraped up every last amount I could find in that darn bottle.
Unfortunately, they don’t have these stores in Australia 🙁

I personally think this is amazing. When I first smelt it I was surprised by the lemon smell. The consistency was a nice clear gel which I liked. I really didn’t care about the snail stuff. This really did help my skin look less pale and more alive. I would recommend this. But it’s a little pricey!

Although I did like this product, the reason why I will not be purchasing it again is due to the following factors.
Firstly, and most importantly, the gel is packaged in a JAR. Now I know most people out there still buy jar packaged moisturisers and don’t see a problem with it, however, there is a massive problem. Beside the fact that it’s obviously not very hygenic, the main issue is that when active ingredients (antioxidants, skin reparing agents, natural ingredients etc) come into contact with air and light, they oxidize and start to break down and with every time you open the jar the ingredients become less and less effective. Not only is this a jar, it is also a clear jar. Double problem.
If you want to know more about the issue of jar packaging check out the following links:
Apart from the packaging, my other issue with this product is the fact that it contains so many fragrant ingredients, and although they are natural, they can be irritative and break down collagen barriers overtime.
Such a shame because I really did like this product, and the consistency was lovely. If they started packaging it in a more secure and stable tube or pump, I would buy it again (despite the potentially irritating ingredients).

I bought Dr Organic’s Snail Gel on a “Buy one get one half price” deal at Holland and Barrett. I’ve always had spot-prone skin and now I’m in my early twenties the search for a miracle product has continued…
I incorporated the Snail Gel into my evening routine, before moisturising and ever since I started using it (approx. 3 weeks ago now) and after the spots I had already had healed up, I have had precisely three new spots! 🙂
Very very pleased with the effect it has had on my skin. The gel itself smells citrusy due to the essential oils added and I personally have to try not to think about the snail aspect! 😉
Give it a try 🙂
