Peels are a great way to speed up the treatment time of you skin. This particular peel is a superficial peel so you may not get a great deal of peeling. I usually never peel or flake with this particular peel.
About my skin: Oily, PIH Prone, Uneven texture, Uneven color. These are the issues I like to treat.
Glycolic and Lactic acid are both used to treat hyperpigmentation (sunspots, blemishes, etc.) of the skin. Lactic is more gentle and is the preferred Alpha Hydroxy for Black women, although many Black women can successfully use glycolic acid, as I am myself.
Lactic acid is also better for dark spots, which I commonly get after acne. It will take a couple of peels before you start seeing results so you have to be consistent and your skin will brighten over time. Both peels are good for erasing uneven texture and fine lines.
I have bought a number of peels from this particular brand and they are high quality, pure acids with nothing added.
This peel will sting a bit but that is to be expected. After 2 uses I have noticed a lightening effect of some stubborn, very old PIH, and after the second use it was almost immediately. I highly recommend this peel if you have dark spots. Be sure to work your way up and also use serums in between peels as up keep as long as it doesn’t irritate your skin.
