I actually just returned this today. My skin is oily, redness and breakout prone and extremely sensitive/reactive. I like the Bioderma Sensibio Light very much but was looking for something mattifying to use if needed during the day under sunscreen. The Mat Control had an unpleasant feel, caused redness and on second day started clogging skin. Sensibio Micellar water, Sensibio Light Cream and Sebium Pore Refiner have all worked just great for me but Sensibio Cleanser and Sebium Mat Control don’t at all.

The product doesn’t do anything for me, it’s okay to put on if you truly have no other choice but it performs horribly under makeup and overall too. The texture and formula starts to roll on the skin when you put makeup on or layer other products on top or just touch your face a little.

I have sensitive combo skin that needs lots of hydration. My t-zone can be oily, so I need a moisturiser that controls a bit of shine. I bought this on a whim, hoping that maybe, this would work for me. It’s not a bad moisturiser, but it’s not moisturising enough for my skin. I have to add a moisturising serum underneath, which I would like the option not to always have to do. In the mornings, I prefer to use only a moisturiser and SPF under my makeup, but with this moisturiser, I need to add the extra serum.
On the plus side, it doesn’t seem to clog my pores, which is great, and it’s cheap. However, it doesn’t keep my skin matte for 8 hours; I still need to blot the same way I always have to. The blotting would be fine, if the cream-gel moisturised my skin properly, but… I will continue my search for the perfect moisturiser.

I bought it only because it was on sale – the regular price is crazy! I’m really glad I did not spend much money on it as it does not work for me. It has a nice texture and it is moisturising but when it comes to its mattifying properties it’s a joke. It keeps me mat for an hour or so… I will use it up but I will definitely not buy it again. A very good one

UPDATED: This product isn not bad. It does what is says for only a couple of hours.
I have combination/oily/ acne prone yet sensitive skin, I have been using it for 3 months, I personally find it better to use this product under your sunscreen or spf moisturizer.
Reason I would not buy it again is the price. I could find something much more affordable, that does the same job. Plus, I am still breaking out.

I’m a huge fan of the Bioderma Sebium products, but this is not for me. I have acne-prone and oily skin and i bought this one to use it in the morning as a makeup base (hoping that my makeup will look matte for longer time). It mattifies(but not more than Sebium Global), but my makeup looks really weird after few hours…kind of cakey. Also, if i used it for 3 days morning and evening (when i ran out of Sebium Global) i had lot of brake-outs. For me was not good, and i wouldn’t buy again.

I bought this thinking it could be a a less expensive dupe for my favourite Institut Esthederm Pure System Shine Control Fluid as they are owned by the same company. Unfortunately, it is not.
From my experience, the Bioderma Sebium Mat Anti-shine Cream-gel does make the complexion velvety-mat for a few hours if you apply immediately after cleanser + toner.
The problem is if you want to wear make-up with a pea-size amount of this product.
Under foundation, this product pills and separates into its own layer throughout the day. Mixed with foundation, this product oxidizes/changes the colour of my foundation, and has no mattifying benefits. Over foundation, it creates a smooth layer, but foundation separates in patches throughout the day.
What I mean is, once you combine this product with makeup, it forms a kind of silicone layer, and if I touch and very gently rub my skin, a little rubbery pill will easily come off, taking with it my makeup. My makeup lasts longer and fresher if I DON’T use this product.
I really regret buying this, because it’s pretty useless to me if I can’t use it with makeup, which I will always wear a little bit if I go out. On my no-makeup days that I spend indoors, I usually apply a generous layer of rich facial oils + cream, and so this product is irrelevant. Instead, I highly recommend oily skin gals to consider the Institut Esthederm Pure System Shine Control Fluid, which actually does create a long-lasting, powder-velvet smooth texture for the skin, under/over/mixed in with any kind of foundation.
My skin type is sensitive, oily/combination.
The foundation I used was Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum.

It doesnt help with the shine at all. I put this on in the morning and by noon my face is shining with oil like I put any other regular moisturizer. Waste of money, doesnt do what it says to do. wont buy again

This is the best matifying moisturizer I ever came across. It does what it says it keeps ur face matte all day everyday! I have combo skin n my cheeks tends to feel very dry compare to my T zone so I use a lil bit of moisturizer on there jus for extra comfort but if I’m in an rush (often time) it’s just perfect as is. I use it as a primer right before foundation or powder n it stays put (fyi I live in the caribbean). Give it a try it’s really worth it
