I’ve officially been using this for a little over 2 months. I like the consistency (more substance than a liquify serum) and I think doesn’t irritate my face.
I started using this because after a 6mo long battle with perioral dermatitis, I was left with scarring that actually looked like a permanent 5o’clock goatee shadow. Because of the hyperpigmentation I went balls deep into skincare and incorporated more/better/higher concentrations of actives. This fit the bill.
I do get tiniest bit of the warmth the package warns of, but nothing like “my face is on fire.”
After about 4/5 weeks, my son pointed out that he can’t even really tell I had the scarring/hyperpigmentation. And after comparing photos of my face before, during (a couple of weeks in) and now, you can DEFINITELY TELL A DIFFERENCE.
I’ll try other things, but I’m sure I’ll repurchase at some point.

I am a big fan of Clinique’s vitamin c product, but not of the fact that the packaging doesn’t keep the air out of the product and it’s comparatively kaput in two weeks. Enter L’Oreal’s new vitamin C serum and I decided to try it.
It’s around $20-30, available everywhere (rather than going to a Clinique counter), and the packaging has kept the product stable for the several weeks I’ve had it. When you buy it, you unscrew the lid, remove a little white ring and screw the cap back on, thereby puncturing the tube. It doesn’t stand up on its own and it’s lackadaisical little habit of needing to lie down on the counter is annoying, but it keeps the C stable. It’s a delightfully silky, unscented serum. It sinks it quickly and doesn’t ball up under makeup or SPF. I get a very warm face, which the packaging warns of.
I’ve used it for over a month and I hate it. I don’t know if I’m using too much or what, but my face has been redder and generally less attractive than it was without and far worse looking than it was with the Clinique. Is this one stronger or just less buffered? I don’t know. I really like what L’oreal tried here even though it didn’t work for me. I wouldn’t buy it again, but if the Clinique vitamin c serum wasn’t enough for you, this might be worth your money (just not mine! My knees and elbow will be looking great after using this up!)
