If you’re looking for an all around Vitamin C serum that creates a glow, this is NOT the product.
However, it is a very effective spot treatment especially for recent post acne marks. This is the type of product to have on hand when you need it, not for all the time use. It can tingle and hurt a little when you put it on too.

This cleared up some old, super-persistent red acne scars on my chin after just a couple of weeks. Wow! My poor concealer has since been pretty much neglected.
My facial skin tolerates it very well, no irritation. In fact, I was surprised that I didn’t feel any tingle, so just out of curiosity applied it to some eczema on my hand. OUCH, ok ok, yes, there be actives in this product! Won’t be doing that again.
Has a nice consistency, a smooth cream with a slight chalkiness. Smells a bit like plastic toys of my youth, but very faint, hardly noticeable. Overall a nice product to use. Great packaging and so much easier to apply than annoying serums with droppers…
One lippie off for the high price. This is available as a deluxe sample though so I’d recommend anyone interested in trying the product to get that. 5 mL still goes a long way as a spot treatment and you can try it out before committing to the bigger (15 mL), pricier tube.

Extremely expensive (for me) but it works on fading melasma so I will repurchase when they have a sale! Also it does not break me out or make my skin itch!

Erm, I don’t know why people are using this all I’ve their face, it’s says SPOT TREATMENT meaning you spot treat only dab a little on your pigmentation marks and not all over the face lol.

I have been using this for about two weeks now so I cannot speak on its effectiveness (but I am pretty sure it works given that it is 25% and it seems that it has been effective in lightening marks for lots of people), but this is very difficult to use – the cream is quite thick and must be dabbed on, not spread, but even when I do that, it tends to ball up, and quite a bit stays on my finger. It is also very expensive. On the plus side, it does absorb well into the skin, and I can layer another cream on top of it for more hydration. But there are a lot of vit c products out there which I feel are cheaper and easier to use (serums). So once I finish my tube, will not be repurchasing.

I got a 14 ml. trail size with other purchases. I’ve had good result with PC 15% Vitamin C except it always expired (oxidized) when I reached to half way rendering the rest ineffective.
I put it on a hour before bedtime, as Paula’s mentioned on youtube, she used it all over her face, and I agreed. All over my oily T zone and both sides of the face, which is quite dry. The cream may appeared thick at first but absorbed well after 20 minutes later, and I have to slather some heavier cream on both cheeks.
Needless to say, the skin will receive this product or any treatment effectively when it properly exfoliated, perhaps a day ahead of time because it may sting a bit.
I woke up the next morning, with a brighter, smoother & plumper skin. It is expensive, but so are all Vitamin C skin care, not to mention this is 25%, I think its well worth the price, when I used up both tubes of trails, I will definitely order more.

i don’t think this is meant to be used as an overall face cream, it balls and curls up and wouldn’t stay on. it has a thick, chalky/creamy, slightly lumpy, densely white texture and will show where having been applied. the smell is very faint, slightly metallic but not unpleasant.
i got a small sample tube of this with my last purchase at pc. didn’t think that i actually might use it. i tried it on a very old acne mark, where the skin is completely healed and it did not do anything – but sting and burn. badly.
but i develop one of those odd spots on my cheek, it is something between a whitehead and a blocked pore. trying to open it would only make it worse and lead to hurt skin, swelling, bleeding, very slow healing and a deep scar in the end. … so i just left that darn thing alone and applied this treatment. result: the next morning the spot had dramatically reduced in size and color! i could only feel, but not see it anymore. plus: it did not sting or hurt at all. i kept applying for the next few nights and the spot was gone. amazing, i must say. so i will keep this around as an emergency treatment.
(sidenote: i only get those stupid stubborn spots if i happen to consume dairy or soy – at restaurants or when someone else cooks for me. since i consciously stopped eating dairy and soy i have the clearest skin of my life, at 35.)
i don’t know if i would repurchase this at the full price, even the sample is very expensive. but i see it’s on sale quite regularly (on the european website).
tl;dr: does nothing on old marks for me – but hurt. worked wonders on a new spot. good choice when it’s on sale or available as free sample.

I suffer from pigmentation problems ever since I started using the acne treatment creams that my dr. prescribed (various creams that include bleaching properties). It shows so much more since the sun has been out (Finland). I started using this cream around 3 weeks ago and I am amazed and happy how my entire face color has evened out! Whenever I didn’t put sunscreen on my face the darker spots reoccurred (even though I was just a few minutes out), so now I put everyday sunscreen 50 whenever I go ou(la roche posay antehlios wokrs well for my combination/ acne probe skin) and in addition 1-2 times per day this cream and I am able to see great results. Thanks to Paula!

I got a sample sized tube of this product and a little goes a long way. I don’t incorporate much vitamin C into my skincare (I probably should), I use the Andalou Turmeric + C serum a few times a week but that’s about it. I have medium olive skin, oily/acne-prone but currently 99% managed. I do have some uneven tone and hyperpigmentation from past breakouts that always take FOREVER to fade.
The texture is thick and almost chalky, which is not the best sensory experience but makes it easy to apply on just the marks. I’ve been using it 2/day (my skin is hardy, use your own judgement) and have definitely noticed reduced hyperpigmentation and improved overall clarity. The marks are fairly old (from what I’ve noticed, it’s easier to fade fresher ones) so I wasn’t hoping for much, but was pleasantly surprised.
Tl;dr version: it might be too expensive and if you’re knowledgable about Vit C products you can maybe do better, no miracles, but it does work.

I have been battling moderate acne for years, finally got it managed, and am now dealing with pockmarks all over my cheeks. I am using a prescription retinoid, and it did not do much for the scaring or hyperpigmentation, plus it dried out my skin, occasionally. The dermatologist suggested laser resurfacing and a few other outpatient procedures, but they’re not worth it for me when you consider the cost and recovery time. Also, much of these procedures are not covered by insurance. If you are an independent woman like me with bills to pay, this product the way of least resistance. Got two to three months of time to seek an alternative to outpatient procedures? I think this product is a good one to try.
After four months of regular usage, I saw a significant difference in the depth of my pockmarks and a lot of of lightening of the pigmentation from the acne. I can actually wear a tinted moisturizer and a light powder! Honestly, I never thought I would see the day. People who have dealt with bad acne–you guys know what I’m talking about. I still have some red marks and pockmarks on my face, but they are much less noticeable than when I started using this product.
Note that I am using this in conjuction with a prescription retinoid. I alternate, each night, between the retinoid and the Vitamin C spot treatment. I have oily, combination skin that flares up with hormonal fluctuations, and I find alternating the retinoid with the Vitamin C was strong enough to improve the texture and look of my skin, but was gentle enough not to irritate it. The directions say to dab it on, but I rub it on with no problem. I just make sure that my skin is dry during application.
For me, this product was a good investment, and I think I will keep on seeing improvements to my acne scarring and pigmentation within the next few months. Paula’s Choice said that the product is good for every day use for two months. I am nearing the end of my first tube at the fourth month, so their calculation is correct.
CONs:
– expensive
– must use up within the short expiry date
– can sting upon application, especially the first time
– not recommended for use during the day, due to the photosensitivty of the product
PROs:
– product often goes on sale
– I found it does work to improve skin texture and pigmentation.
– good packaging to protect ingredients; packaging is TSA-friendly
– must try to those dealing with acne scarring, especially if using a retinoid
– can alternative to outpatient procedures, if you are afraid of the doctor, etc.
