The only reason this dark spot corrector gets 1 star is the pump attached to the tube to dispense product. As for the product itself, completely useless. After daily use for a number of weeks specifically targeting 2 small areas on face, it’s made zero difference – looks exactly the same as before. I have sensitive skin and although there is a fragrance to this product and it does cause some tingling when first applied (this is noted as being “normal” on the packaging), both the fragrance and tingling disappear soon after applying and it doesn’t cause any irritation. It definitely makes the skin feel drier, so if your skin tends to run normal to dry, you will likely want to apply some moisturizer over the top.
With several coupons I had, I was able to get this product for about $10 at my local drugstore, but given it doesn’t seem to do anything, to me it was a waste of $10 and I’d be more irked if I had paid full price for this ($23). So the search continues because I’d never buy this again.

The product itself is lovely: great texture, smell and the feel after applying it. The packaging is sleek and handy. Yet the corrector itself is quite a let down, I could not detect much effect at all. If not the pleasantness of use, it would be a 1 or 2 from me.

This works well for me, it has really transformed my skin. I had dark spots, one that really bothered me on my cheek, and it has faded. The really dark spot started fading right away. It is not all the way gone, but it has broken up into several smaller lighter spots. I use this once a day under sunscreen since it makes the overall tone of my skin look great. I didn’t realize that it was supposed to go just on the spots, I used it as a “serum” all over, just lightly.
Anyway, it took many years to get these spots, so I didn’t expect to get rid of them overnight. This is working well for me, and it’s not expensive. I’m probably not supposed to use it all over my face, but I think it’s probably OK since the active ingredient is Vit. C. I don’t need foundation any more, my skin has evened out from this, except the spot is still lightly there, and I cover it up. I’ve been using this for – I’m thinking it’s been over a year now, and it is still working on that darn spot- I can see it getting lighter and smaller still! I’m sure it’s going to fade completely eventually since I can see it continuing to fade. (It was a very dark spot.)
I also use it on my neck, when I was pregnant I got a bunch spots there, and it has worked great there. It’s much lighter, one side has completely faded. I’m happy with it so far 🙂

After having a terrible time with melasma on my forehead some years ago (and fading it considerably with Alpha Hydrox Spotlight), my melasma came back with a vengeance. I used to have 2 patches on my forehead, now I have one HUGE patch on my forehead, and patches that circle both of my eyes. Very unsightly. So I am starting again with treating these patches and trying some different products.
I picked this product up in Ulta when I was looking for a quick, safe treatment. This is a thick cream which applies easily and dries down to almost a powdery matte finish. The packaging states that this is good as a makeup primer, but actually I found it to make my foundation ball up and flake off when applied over it. So I only apply this on a night now, and still stick to my SPF50 (PA+++) sunscreen during the day. It has a pleasant inoffensive fragrance which I don’t mind at all (although I would prefer fragrance free.)
But the real issue is that this didn’t work. Not one bit. I used this faithfully every night for about 8 weeks and there wasn’t a single change to any of my dark patches, not even the smaller, paler ones.
With other products I tend to notice that the edges of the patches seem to break up first, then the treatment works towards the middle. With this product there was nothing, I may as well have been applying a regular moisturizer. I am very disappointed in this product and can’t recommend at all. If you do have melasma, try Alpha Hydrox Spotlight (see my review) and avoid this cream at all costs.
