This product, though well intentioned, fails to deliver on its basic advertised function. First of all there are countless other brands on the market these days that utilise these same ingredients yet at a much more affordable price range. They also happen to be better formulated as well. Dermalogica, as much as being all about “Skin Health” and not luxury, they are still very much a beauty therapist “Spa” brand, and so, the pervasive use of essential oils are almost always employed in each product, as is this one. To the extent where their use is almost questionable. What is lemon peel oil doing in a peel? My estimate is that is almost entirely for fragrance purposes, lemon peel cannot exfoliate or brighten skin it is a fragrant volatile oil.
The enzymes and AHA’s in this formula do yield some exfoliative ability however they do not need to followed by irritating fragrance oils and menthyl lactate, a derivative or like ingredient of Menthol, that is why there is a cooling sensation on the skin when this is used. Also alot of product is wasted, what should have been a leave on chemical exfoliant, you are instructed to use this for three days in a row on first use, then follow with once weekly use. Considering the price that is a total waste of money, particularly since your are instructed to rinse of the product after only 7 minutes.
This can easily be left on the skin if your skin can tolerate it, there is nothing questionable about the formula other than the fragrance and menthol substitutes. I would not recommend this product, it is totally overpriced, the formula is misguided and there are plenty of more affordable options either online or on the shelves.
For the money you are expected to pay for this product you might as well go in for a real professional peel provided by your dermatologist or cosmetic nurse once a month, than pay over $100 for something that doesn’t even yield adequate results.
The pumpkin ferment enzyme is a nice touch but not as effective as the well established Lactic Acid and Gylcolic Acids in the skin care world. Why make a second rate product? Dermalogica need to get it together and stop overcharging consumers!!! DO NOT BUY!

I am a licensed Esthetician and I bought this product because 1. I got 50% Off (when i attended a Dernalogica party in Santa Monica) and 2. I really wanted a peel to improve my over-all skin texture and also to brighten my skin. Did the 3 consecutive nights 7 minute routine. But after the 3 days, I never really saw any improvements nor did my skin peeled in anyway. So i stopped using it altogether. For a product this expensive, i was counting on a positive reaction to my skin within the 3 days. Ftankly, I am extremely disappointed with this product. I’ve done microneedling (once a month) instead and using retinol at bedtime and those did the trick of peeling my skin while the retinol helped kept my skin softer, clearer, brighter and glowing.
I’m never buying nor recommending this product!

I got the 3 day sample and to be honest the only difference I felt was my skin felt softer and a little tighter!
I didn’t feel any irritation whatsoever which is a good thing, but all in all there was no difference in fine lines etc, unfortunately I won’t be buying this but glad I got to sample before spending a small fortune on something that didn’t do much.

Rapid Reveal peel contains lactic acid, and lactobacillus/pumpkin filtrate which is supposed to be a gentle exfoliant. I do weekly 40% lactic acid peels and use 10% glycolic acid pads daily. This Rapid Peel formula is not very strong at all and did not do much for my skin but leave it feeling soft. My concerns for this product are the inclusion of two known skin irritants : lemon peel oil and citral. For the price, I do not feel this product is worth the money. I like Bliss Incredipeel pads or DCl 10% glycolic acid peel pads better.

Over the last six years I’ve spent a great deal of time and money getting my skin in the best condition possible. It’s only since I started using medically prescribed cosmeceutical products that my skin transformed so I’m very sceptical about beauty salon or department store skincare brands, which I now know, don’t really do anything.
I have used Dermalogica before, several years ago and wasn’t impressed then, as it did nothing to address my skin issues, so ten years on, I saw Peel to Reveal and saw the many positive reviews so thought I’d give it a go.
The product is supplied in 10 single use vials, presented in a fabric pouch, although I think up to three uses could be obtained from a single vial, if only the face was being treated. It is recommended to use everyday for three days and then once weekly thereafter. Skin cell renewal will be sped up, by means of exfoliation and the manufacturer claims this treatment is close to salon strength. Skin will feel softer, firmer and look brighter, minimising fine lines and wrinkles.
I used the peel for 4 days in a row initially, applying it to my face, neck, décolletage and the backs of my hands. It is recommended to leave the solution on the skin for up to 7 minutes and that a slight burning or tingling sensation may be experienced. I left the solution on for around 10 minutes and experienced no tingling or burning or anything really.
As my skin is fairly good, in fact, it’s younger than it was 10 years ago, I can’t say I noticed any further improvements in my facial skin. I did, however notice the backs of my hands seemed a little smoother and to be fair, I don’t pay half as much attention to my hands as I do my face.
In conclusion, perhaps this product might be beneficial to those new to regular exfoliation, but for me, it did very little. It doesn’t compare to my current exfoliant (Obagi Exfoderm) which I can see working, by way of actual peeling and this Dermalogica peel was very expensive and really not worth the money. I won’t purchase this product again.
