I have oily skin and large pores on my cheeks, nose, and chin, so I bought this primer after reading positive reviews online. $45 is pretty steep for a primer, but the reviews were good, so I bought it. What a major disappointment. This did absolutely NOTHING. Did not cover my pores. Did not make my skin more matte. Sometimes I wouldn’t put it on just to make sure that I wasn’t seeing a difference, and my skin/makeup looked the same with and without it. Truly awful product, major disappointment.

I’m giving it 4 stars because it does it’s job amazingly well, even though it’s not meant for me.
I can see the similarities between this and Porefessonal; they’re both velvety, matte, almost gel-like (in a silky matte kind of way), and are both tinted.
But the similarities stop there because this product does what the Porefessional wishes it could do, and that’s smooth over the biggest of pores.
Don’t get me wrong, the Porefessional is great too, it’s just that it’s like a really weakened version of this product. Sort of like you don’t know what you’re missing until you try something way better, which is this stuff.
The reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is twofold. Number one, it accentuates dry patches, so if you’ve got a problem with dry patches even if you exfoliate, either steer clear of this product or use it sparingly.
Number two, it has a fairly strong smell that is reminiscent of pine trees. It does disappear, but it’s a rather strong odor at first, which is very off-putting. I literally walked around as soon as I applied it to my face in order to make the smell go away faster.
Another poster mentioned that it smells minty, but I guess everyone’s perception is different.
Overall, this is magical stuff for oily skinned people with enlarged pores, but still works great for those of us with dry skin, too.

I’ve always stuck it with my POREfessional but then I saw NG (youtube) use this and claim it was amazing, so with Sephora’s 15% off why not? I’ll usually use this on it’s own and it’s perfect – my pore literally disappear and makes my skin look sooo smooth & matte. Haven’t really tried with makeup since my BB cream does a good job with filling the pores. Perfect if your just running around doing errands and such. My go-to: this primer, mascara, brows, lip gloss done.

Kind of minty smelling, it kind of felt refreshing when going on but I didn’t really notice much if any improvement in my pore appearance. I think I can get equal results with some of my drug store primers.

I got this in an ipsy bag awhile back. I never used pore primers so this was my first one. I have blackheads on my nose so when i apply foundation it doesnt really stick to the nose area. When i apply this primer on my nose, my foundation sticks to my nose much better. Prob wont repurchase tho as I have a nyx pore filler to use after this

Finally, I find a primer that doesn’t make my combination skin more oily, and it’s so pricy!
This primer does a great job at evening my skin tone, blurring my pores and making my makeup stay. It puts a great barrier between my skin/moisturizer and my makeup, and settles fairly quickly. I put on my moisturizer, let that set and then a few minutes later, I add the primer. I let that set about a minute.
It goes on not unlike a silicone based primer, but it’s very matte, which I haven’t found in any other primer. The smell could be offputting, but dissipates fairly quickly. I only have to use a pea sized amount for my entire face, so the bottle does last. When I do my makeup it goes on smoothly and blends extremely well. I’ve noticed i have to ensure that i get an even coating on my entire face, and this stuff is FINE, so it takes a light hand and quick work.
When I started using it, I noticed that my makeup stayed put all day, and that my skin seemed to even out over the course of a few weeks. I don’t notice a huge reduction in my pore size, but my T zone seems to be clearer than before I started using it.
I just wish for something that isn’t seen that it wasn’t so gosh darn expensive!

While the feel of the product is nice and the initial matte effect is good, the product does not hold up to wear during the day.
In addition, I find the price offensive! If they are going to charge $45 for a basic primer, it should be the best primer I’ve ever used!!

When you first use this the results look amazing. I used my 10X magnifying to see the difference and it was pretty amazing but….when I looked again 10 minutes later the product had sunk into my pores making them even more pronounced. When I added foundation on top of it, it made my foundation look splotchy and patchy. I was so disappointed because my first impression made me think I had found a Holy Grail product but alas it was just a dream. This product also contains tea tree oil and lavender, both are major skin irritants so my dream of an awesome primer have turned into a nightmare.
