I use this as a daytime serum because I think I need something more consistent and moisturizing for nighttime. It absorbs really well and it seems to plump and make my skin matte at the same time. I`ve noticed a mild breakout on my forehead, but I`m not sure if the serum is responsible for this or my hormones. I`ve also recently switched my exfoliating treatment, so this could also be a reason for the breakout. Anyway, it is mild and it seems to be receding already. I like the way this serum works for the texture and hydration of my skin. However that sweet sickly smell might be a problem in the long run. I hate the way it lingers, too, even on my hands, after washing them. I swear it smells like those fermented fruit I used to feed fruit-flies on in the lab in college. Also the dropper dispenser seems to become clogged with the white solids from the serum (it is a liquid serum with bits of white stuff sitting in suspension). Not sure if I would repurchase or not, it depends on whether or not I find something better for the day.
UPDATE: I`ve just finished one jar of this and despite gently swirling the white solids with the pipette every time I applied, I`ve noticed that a huge chunk of it was still sitting on the bottom. So I diluted it with some of my toner and I am still using it as a day serum. The application results are about the same as before. But I am a little dumbfounded: why would you not mention anything in the package insert about this issue, Caudalie? I mean, it`s not the cheapest of serums, so I am expecting it to be more user-friendly than this.

A lightweight serum that contains the antioxidants of vitamin C & E, plush grapeseed extract. The type of vitamin C in this product, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate has not shown to be very effective in studies. I have combination skin and this product caused my skin to breakout. Has an odd, sweet fragrance.

I’m on my third bottle of this serum, and I love it. I’ve tried l-ascorbic acid serums in the past, but they didn’t seem to do much for me and were always a bit of a hassle to use so I went looking for a different type of vit c and found this. I have dehydrated combination skin and this serum is very hydrating without breaking me out. I also find that my skin looks brighter when I use it and acne marks fading quicker. It has become a staple for me and I will repurchase again when I run out.
