This is an excellent serum for my skin that I’m really loving! It works so well at smoothing out fine lines like my genetic forehead lines and slight smile lines. I also like how smooth, soft, and even toned this leaves my skin. The bottle is small and pricey but I only need the tiniest amount to cover my whole face. It doesn’t sting nor has it made me peel. I also find my skin feels firmer after I use this. I like to layer this with other serums like my mandelic acid it leaves my skin in the best shape, For a retinal I find this serum to be so gentle but it works! I find this also helps minimize my acne scarring leaving my skin so smooth. So I’m very happy with the results I’m getting from this. I wouldn’t hesitate to repurchase. Recommended.

This is by far THE BEST product that I have used across all brands. It absolutely does what it says. I am 53 years old and do not have one line on my face. The more I use this product, the better my skin looks.
At first my cheeks were a little pink but that only lasted for a couple of days of use. I use this product daily and I can tell when I don’t.
My pores are smaller and my skin texture is amazing. Of course the only drawback is the $155 price tag but it’s well worth it. I am about to purchase my 3rd bottle.
AMAZING !!
(PS…no Perricone smell ) 🙂

Between the exorbitant prices, the mannish packaging, the fishy smells, and the hype, I am not ordinarily a Perricone fan. However, this particular product has excellent reviews at Sephora, and is being pushed in the stores these days, and eventually I became tempted to try it.
The premise is that this is made from eggshell membrane and is intended to improve the skin’s “youthful cushion.” You are supposed to use it in the day, under moisturizer. It retails for $165 for 2 fluid ounces and comes in a nice, white, smooth, heavy jar that feels like eggshell.
The product itself is a smooth cream, on the thin side, nicely spreadable, and whitish yellow. It smells like something resembling eggs, but not in a bad way. The scent is actually strangely relaxing. This scent does seem to fade away once you apply it, and particularly once you put other products on top. Thankfully, there is no fishy smell here whatsoever.
You are supposed to “work” it into your face until it whitens. After that, it becomes nearly impossible to massage the product any further. It is as though it has disappeared; there is nothing more to feel, and no layer of anything to speak of, except for a sort of thin web of comfy, bouncy tightness (cushion?) that feels as though it comes from within your skin. This will happen no matter how much of the product you apply.
I must stress that, although this is a cream, it is *not* a moisturizer in any sense, and you will definitely need to apply a separate one if you want your skin to have any hydration at all. However, this should not be a problem, as this product feels even *less* like a stifling, greasy layer than most serums do. To say it is light is an understatement; it’s completely weightless, and even the oiliest people should not be afraid of it.
In addition to the egg stuff, this also supposedly contains 2% retinol. (I say “supposedly” because I don’t actually know; it’s just what I’ve heard in various places online.) Retinol is on the ingredients list, but it’s down among the preservatives, so I don’t know if it could really be 2%. However, if this does actually contain 2% retinol, that is a great amount. For reference, most OTC “retinols” contain only .5-1% retinol, with only a few going up to 2%. If this product in fact has 2% retinol, that’s a reason to consider it even if you don’t believe in eggshell membrane miracles. (However, be sure to use good sun protection, especially if you’re going to do as they suggest and wear this product during the day.)
I have been using it day and night for approximately two weeks. My usual night treatment is a prescription retinoid, and I’ve replaced that to a large extent with this treatment. (I still use my prescription 1-2 nights a week). So far, my skin is very happy, clear, calm, radiant, and smooth. It tends to be angry, broken out, and sensitive to just about everything, but I’ve had great luck with this product. It actually seems to be keeping my acne at bay in between uses of my prescription, so I do believe there is a good amount of retinol in it.
The best part is the “youthful cushion,” which I am definitely feeling, although I can’t tell if it’s a cosmetic effect or a long-term effect. For sure, this does have a temporary tightening effect in the manner of an egg-white mask, which makes your skin look great when the product is on. The wonderfully plump, cushiony feeling it gives your face may or may not be part of that. The few times I have skipped using this product in the last two weeks, my skin has seemed to look and feel a bit worse immediately, so at least some of the product’s effect is probably superficial. However, when I wash my face in the morning after using this product at night, my face always looks clear, bright, and smooth, with no hint of either dryness or oiliness, which extremely rare for my skin. So it does seem to be doing something positive beyond the surface.
As far as I’m concerned, the main drawback of this product is the jar packaging…but it seems like it would be hard to package in any other way. The price is definitely high, but when you compare it to other high-end treatments, $82.50 an ounce is not that extreme. It is possible to get (comparatively) good deals on Perricone products through his website specials and the QVC daily offers.
I’m not saying every Perricone product is worth it, or that any of them do miracles, but the truth is that many of his products are low on filler and high on good–or at least interesting–ingredients. So this brand may be worth a second look even if you consider yourself a reasonable person. Certainly, if you can find a good deal on OVM, I think it is worth trying.
