Not worth the price and hype at all. Not much difference to my skin. Hate the smell.

Unfortunately this product has given me pimples. And believe me, it is the only one in mote than twenty five years!

I really like this night serum a lot. It applies on blue but the colour disappears as you rub this into your skin. This doesn’t leave any greasiness, sinks into your skin and preps it for your night cream. It’s highly emollient and supports the rest of your night time routine without any pilling. I’ve been using the travel size for the last week and will buy the full sized bottle later. I haven’t used this long enough to comment about the retinol or anti aging benefits, I’ll update later.

I have to say, I am a big fan of Sunday Riley’s oils and this is probably their most popular hyped up, popular oil because you use it with the good genes at night. I do like this oil, but it’s not my favorite. I am a huge fan of blue tansy and that is what makes this oil blue in color, but I have to say it has not done as much for my skin as I thought that it would. I do still like it and I use it a few times a week, but with it containing retinol, this really limits what I can put on my skin along with it. It works week with good genes (oil first, then good genes after), but I honestly expected more from this oil because it was so hyped up. I would prefer the other Sunday Riley oils to this one. But that’s just my skin, yours could react differently as everyone’s skin is different! I do still always keep it on hand

I am 49 with dry mature skin. I got this in the Wayne Goss beauty box from Cult Beauty and was so excited after seeing such rave reviews!
I can’t say I’ve been blown away to be honest. The smell doesn’t bother me, or the blue color. I have noticed that my skin is softer but nothing else seems to be happening. Maybe I need to wait a few more weeks, so far I am not impressed, which is a disappointment for me as I was expecting so much more.
The price point is quite high so I don’t think I will be buying this again.

My skin really likes this stuff! I have a lot of different products that I try out/rotate, and I end up using this maybe twice a week at night, before bed. While it does feel greasy going on, it absorbs nicely throughout the night and I woke up with soft, supple skin and noticeably reduced redness and irritation.
I’m nearly to the bottom of my first bottle of this and plan to repurchase once it’s gone.

I received a pretty good size sample in a subscription box and have been alternating it with my Retin A. This winter has been brutal to my poor face and I have been having lots of tightness, redness, and peeling. I think I like this, but did notice a tiny whitehead on my chin after first use. Otherwise, my face feels soft and smooth in the morning. I am not sure if I would buy since it is crazy expensive but plan to use up this sample and then decide. Kind of on the fence at this point.
EDIT: I am back to amend my previous review to state that I used this 3-4 nights a week for the last few winter months (alternating with Retin A) and had no further breakouts. It was a soothing treatment on days when my skin was particularly dry or sensitive. I have purchased this in the small size, but I actually still have some in my tester vial because only such a small amount is needed. This has been a great find for my aging skin!

I have oily/combo skin and I started using this again regularly for the last two weeks and I found a little goes a long way. I bought this a while ago and followed the directions, then found the amount was too greasy for my skin and stopped using it. I then read a review a couple of weeks ago and the reviewer said that she used this on its own without following her night cream for a month and found her skin was much smoother and had less breakouts. So I decided to do the same. I use maximum three drops and rubbing my hands together to warm it up and then patted it on my face using my palms instead of massaging it. The oil absorbed a lot faster and my face felt silky smooth and supple after ten minutes. This was a game changer for me and now I do it this way and I haven’t used my night cream since. My skin feels soft in the morning and is less oily on my T-zone. I don’t mind the scent as for me it smells more medicinal rather than awful. What used to be a fail for me ended up being a success.

I’m probably the only person here, but I must confess…I actually like the smell of Luna Night Oil! It’s natural and been described as smelling like rotting lettuce by one person to ‘rancid oil’ by another. To me it’s just an interesting smell. Different.
Background: I received a generous sample of this with my purchase of ‘Good Genes’ – a product that I loved using and delivered results. However I’m still on the fence about this one. What attracted me to it the most was the ingredients, very impressive and very natural with a good selection of Omega-rich and antioxidant oils utilized in the formulation, plus a retinoic acid ester in the form of ‘Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate’ – one of the newest forms of retinoids and also seen in ‘The Ordinary’s’ Granactive Retinoid range. I was somewhat concerned about ‘Blood Orange’ oil being phototoxic, however a quick search revealed I had nothing to worry about. Phew! Still, just to be extra cautious I decided only to use it on a night time.
Sunday Riley suggest one of the ways to use this is to layer it apply it before ‘Good Genes’, something I just couldn’t get my head around (why would you layer any product over another one which is composed almost totally of oils and therefore create an impenetrable layer, preventing the 2nd product from even reaching the skin?). I decide to do it my way and use just Good Genes on one side (my left) and Luna Sleeping Night Oil on my right. Turns out although both sides were softer and more glowing, the side with the night oil was less so, although better hydrated. Nevertheless there was a discernible difference on both sides compared to the previous week when using a different product.
All in all I do like this but wouldn’t necessarily go out and purchase a full bottle now that my GWP has ran out as I can’t justify the high cost in return for only ‘average’ results. Although it didn’t break me out or cause any negative reaction (aside from slight redness on my face for the first few nights) it just didn’t blow me away either. To be fair a good part of how I feel about it is when comparing its results to Good Genes and also my high expectations from the super-impressive ingredients list.

Have tried several retinol based products over the years. This is great. My skin looked so much rested with a reduction in redness, overnight . I do tend to overapply, as the product is fun to use ( blue oil ).
Update : still loving it . Overnight difference . Amazingly expensive though
