I love this. This product has always been on my ‘to try’ list because of the excellent online reviews. I was on vacation and accidentally dropped my Josie Maran on the bathroom floor and had to find a replacement. This treatment oil has a very strong herbaceous scent that I don’t love, but it’s such a well balanced face oil that leaves my skin so silky smooth that I can overlook the scent. My make up looks flawless with this treatment oil underneath, and I love putting this on before I go to sleep. I will definitely re-purchase this again.

I decided to do a little experiment by applying this to one half of my face and Clarins ‘Blue Orchid’ on the other. Both were GWP a couple of years back but only just getting round to writing up on them. A couple of negative points are the packaging – completely wrong for an oil as sunlight can and will ruin oils and turn them rancid in next to no time. Also the fragrance – far too high up on the ingredients list and not good at all for some sensitive skin folks (although won’t affect all). I used a couple of drops each time and only on a night, following with SPF during the day.
The good: despite this being an oil and me having oily skin it did slightly reduce oil production throughout the day. Also the odd pimple that surfaced would disappear a lot sooner with a dab of this applied onto it. I can’t say for definite that it helped with pores but they did appear to be slightly less prominent than normal. Also gave me a bit of glow as I noticed upon waking each morning.
One of the better oil treatments I’ve used.

I’d have to say that this is my favourite oil! Previously I was using the Sunday Riley UFO but this one delivers faster and better results. My skin just looks brighter and more even, just nice and plump. I’ve noticed that I hardly get any pimples when I started using this and it also cuts down on the amount of oil I produce throughout the day.

This stuff is amazing! I look forward to my morning & night face routine just so I could use it. My bf & I were on vaca in Europe and the hotel spa was sponsored by Clarins. We saw this oil and at first I wasn’t interested but I warmed up to it. Thank God I did! I have oily to combination and am prone to breaking out easily, especially when I use too many products on my face. This oil balances, softens & hydrates my skin, leaving it super glowy. I tend to get oily throughout the day but when I apply this in the morning, my skin stays pretty balanced. The Clarins spa employee recommended using it on damp skin- so wash your face & apply the oil after. I absolutely love doing this. My face feels so fresh & clean and applying it with a damp face makes me feel like I just left the spa. The smell is beautiful, very herbal. It is a little bit pricey but it’s worth the buy!! 3-4 drops is all you really need so it’ll last you a long time 🙂

I wouldn’t buy again because since I bought this oil so many other things have come onto the market that I think I’d try them next. I really want to try some Kypris and Vintners Daughter for example…. compared to them this oil is cheap!
I have acne prone combination skin and pressing this oil into clean skin at night rebalances and works wonders for my complexion. My skin seems to hate too many products so sticking to this alone really seems to get some results.
The scent of this oil is beautifully herbal and therapeutic which is a huge plus for me. I’d definitely come back to this if others didn’t work out, it’s a truly beautiful product and I really enjoy using it. For reference I use this at night and sunscreen in the day and that works really well for me. I am trying not to use makeup either and this is helping me avoid clogged pores and redness.

**********I just bought a new bottle at Macy’s. This time there is something not right about it. The smell is no longer the same. I don’t think Macy’s is selling counterfeit products, but there is something definitely wrong. I will go Sephora and Nordstroom to try their lotus oil and compare. ***************
I always use this oil as my night moisture because it doesn’t break me out. It smells really great, and very moisturizing. I normally use 4 drops each on my face and neck. Don’t expect it will having any anti aging or oil control effects. it doesn’t control oil production at all, at least for me that’s the case. It’s a basic and safe oil for me to use because I breakout very easily.

I heard a lot of hype about this product and finally decided to try it. It is better to use it when your skin is still moist after toner. I mix it with my moisturizer and they work beautifully together. I don’t feel the stickiness when using this oil alone. It’s more blendable when mixed with a moisturizer. It’s not a miracle worker I have to say. But indeed, what IS? I like the scent a lot actually, rather calming. The ingredients are natural and not too complicated, therefore good for my somewhat sensitive skin. Will repurchase for fall/winter.

I have now bought this item twice- which is unusual as I like to try new things all the time. I have oily extremely sensitive skin with breakouts and this stuff-omg. Firstly it smells like a spa all natural plant botanicals… Then it sinks so deep in your skin it cleans it from the bottom up, hydrates and moistures like nothing else. Added with clarins night time moistures on top you will have optimum hydration and glowy healthy skin ????. Slightly expensive but lasts long long time. Worth it
Don’t waste any more time and go and buy now!

For me, this is a perfect night-time treatment.
I haven’t used this product every night (but every other night), as I was told by the girl at Sephora that this is a treatment and should be used 2-3 times a week.
It works great with my skin, feels a bit oily at first (I first mist some thermal water on my face and then use 3-4 drops), but I wake up with great skin, that isn’t oil or dry (as some products for oily skin used to dry my skin out,) but looks nourished.
Don’t let the price tag put you off – one bottle will last you a veeeery long time, I have had the same bottle for well over a year and used it every other night for the past year.
The scent is intense- in the beginning i kind of liked it, but after a few uses it really started to bother me. This is also the only reason why i rate it with 4 and not with 5 stars.

This is one long-ass review but i wanted to share it so that someone else might learn from my experience.
I have normal-combination skin and i went through almost one-and-a-half bottles of this. I started using it two years ago just because i wanted a night-time routine of some sort. I was 20 then and knew practically nothing about fragrance in skincare being harmful. This was a highly rated facial oil and i got it.
What i loved about it (the same thing that made me repurchase it) was that it seemed to shrink whatever pimples i had and make my skin clearer. Over time however, my formerly perfect skin became acne-prone; pores i never had, appeared. I did not blame this oil for a long time and kept on using it whenever a spot appeared. Eventually, i got tired of my fucked up skin and stopped using this. I gave my skin a break for about two weeks and then started using virgin grapeseed oil at night. Let me tell you, it works as brilliantly, if not more, as this oil, especially in the reduction of pimple size. I ve been using it for a few months now and my skin is returning to its previous unblemished state. I cannot stress enough the importance of avoiding irritating substances in your skincare. I know many find fragrance in their products to be pleasing and therapy-like and I’m glad it works for them.
The ingredients list has hazelnut oil at the top. While it is moisturizing, the high oleic to linoleic acid ratio is not exactly ideal for oily, acne-prone skin.
If you are new to the facial oil routine, i would suggest you to start with rosehip or grapeseed oil. They have many antioxidants and if they suit you, you can even try blending them and applying at once. Use chemical exfoliants if you have clogged pores and non-alcoholic toners. Trust me, your skin will improve much more than it would with this oil.
