I was looking for an serum which gave my skin moisture, kept my oily t-zone under controle and would help with pigmentation spots. A salesperson i my local beautystore convinced me to invest in this product (Notice INVEST, it’s that expensive!), I was deeply disapointed.
1. The product gives moisture and then dryes the skin out. I felt no what-so-ever benefits in my skin.
2. The scent is so strong. Its a perfume bomb, which I dont find attractive or healty for my skin.
3. The packaging is nice, ofcause its Chanel they make everything look nice.

I love Chanel’s expensive skincare stuff. This serum plumps out your skin with tiny microbeads of ? magical-ness and fine lines disappear. It’s really a nice feeling serum, without any stickiness or gooey-ness, it melts into the skin with the activation of those little blue microbeads. The fragrance is nice and light, so I like putting this on at night before bed. Probably wont repurchase just because I dont need more steps in my skincare, but we’ll see…

Really like this for when my nose and forehead get flaky and my regular moisturizer doesn’t quite cut it. The bottle lasts forever – I don’t need to use it every single day so I’m frantically trying to finish it before it expires. I just put on any old moisturizer on top of this and within an hour I have really nicely plumped-up skin. It’s helped me use up a lot of so-so face creams, too.
It’s expensive for what it is, but I haven’t found a similar serum with a texture I like so much, so will repurchase if I ever run out.
Bonus: it makes my neck look fantastic. I have yet to notice a difference in my neck with any other similar serum. I’m 24, so I haven’t quite hit that paying-attention-to-the-neck phase of my skincare life…but I actually see a noticeable difference with this stuff under my moisturizer so maybe I ought to start 😉

I have rosacea and dehydrated, sometimes flaky, skin on my nose and normal/dry skin on cheeks.
Everytime my skin gets flaky I scrub lightly, apply this and the flakes are instantly gone and my skin is calmed noticeably down. It really does provide intense moisture and quickly too. Because of the consistency it is absorbed almost immediately, leaving a pleasant nourished feeling in your skin. Its one of the greatest products i have tried for dry skin and I can wholeheartedly recommend it.
Only con? It smells like a mixture of algae and rotten roses.

I’ve been using the Hydramax Serum for about 6 months now, after getting a free sample from a Chanel counter. At first I was bitterly disappointed with the results because it dried my face out. A quick trip to a Chanel counter revealed I had been using it incorrectly as a moisturiser on its own – Doh! I was told to put it on every evening after cleansing and then to wait a few minutes before applying my moisturiser.
Used the correct way, in conjunction with a moisturiser (I use the Hydramax gel moisturiser) the serum instantly rehydrates my skin, leaving it soft and silky . It seems to sink straight into my skin without leaving an oily residue. At first I used it every evening but soon discovered I was getting under skin pimples. Now I only use it when my skin feels dry or has dried out from using another product. Used this way I have really made my bottle last.
This product is expensive – I paid about £72. However, I have had my bottle for about 4 months now and I expect it to last until Xmas. The bottle has a pump which means there’s no wastage and I find one pump is enough to cover my face and neck. In my opinion it is money well spent!

i love this product i like to use it in the mornings before i apply make up and i like to apply it at night with moisturiser on top and it has made the texture of my skin feel wonderful but the only down side to this product is the price !

I’m assuming this is supposed to be a moisturizer?! I got this as a free sample, so i can’t comment on long term usage, but i was really pleasantly suprised by its initial effects. My skin is combination/oily, i’m not sure exactly what skin type this is designed for, but it does seem to work on my skin! The texture of this cream is a quite thick and gel-like consistency. It strikes me as a good moisturizer to go underneath foundation as it seals and smooths the skin….and my studio fix foundation seems to set on top of it nicely! However, this isn’t my favourite of moisturizers and its really rather expensive!! So even though its okay its not special enough to make me wanna shell out for it!

I tend to peel on the nose as well as the corners of the mouth as a result of using too much oil control products for my oil-slick of a face. The oil-control stuff tends to dry out the skin’s surface after time and skin starts to peel even in the super oily areas. When i went for a recent makeover, the SA prepped my skin with the serum and the fluid. After effects was lightweight on the skin yet an intensely hydrated, no tight feeling skin. Makeup went on smooth even over patchy, peeling areas. After purchasing this and the Hydramax+ Active Fluid, I been using them day and night as well as on trips. My skin now does not peel anymore and also the skin looks more refined with pores looking less obvious and dehydration lines not as wrinkly. This works well to soothe the tight feeling I get on the plane also. After finishing this, I will repurchase!

I have used three different types of Hydramax Serum, from the original to the moisture boost to this current one and I have to say this one is my favourite. I use this every second night (as I have two sets of skincare routing) along with either the ‘Hydramax + Active Moisture Cream’ or the ‘Hydramax + Active Moisture Gel’. I love the smell of this serum which is the same as all of the Hydramax range. Currently it’s winter in Australia atm hence this serum is very appropriate. I have used this bottle for 3 months and its still going strong 🙂 I also used it on some long haul flights recently… perfection! In my previous reviews I always talk about going back to Chanel skincare everynow and then.. it’s such a good quality staple. The cost is also a lot cheap then most other serums at $118 AUD

This product is probably suitable only for oily skin but not combination skin or normal skin. This serum dries skin a bit, I did not feel hydration. Also it’s very sticky and smells with alchogol. Will never buy it again.
