What on earth was la Roche posay thinking !..? That serum contains a lot of alcohol, which isn’t good for normal to dry skin n the long run….how can a serum designed to moisturize contain alcohol in the top ingredients ,. !? Doesn’t make any sense to me? You can even smell it. Hopefully they remove it

I had high expectations with this serum and was very disappointed. I didn’t like the sticky texture and the smell was quite intense. I have sensitive skin and thought La Roche Posay was sensitive skin friendly but it’s not. The serum gave me eczema on the hands after a week of use so I don’t recommand it for sensitive skin.

I have gone through a couple bottles of this serum. Overall it’s nice, but there are a few setbacks. The packing isn’t ideal, it would be better if it wasn’t in a light sensitive bottle. Light can change the formula. Also it is quite scented, which I do not enjoy. Otherwise, I have no qualms about using this serum. It’s very hydrating and plumps the skin, including fine lines. My skin overall feels softer and looks more luminous when I use this.

To get a rating like this from me, then I have to see or feel definite visible results. I really wish I had of found this product two years earlier! I take care with my skin, and overall it is smooth and glowing, but as I was aging I could not get rid of the v shaped bags under my eyes, this actually improved this immensely, so much so that they have pretty much disappeared! The area under my eyes has plumped back up, and looks more youthful again. I drink plenty of water, and have used tretinoin for the last 10yrs along with an excellent vitamin c based moisturiser, this Hyalu B5 Serum was the thing my eyes were missing! The serum is not specifically for the eye area, but that is where I saw the most change, it is a clear thin gel like substance with little to no fragrance, it goes on smoothly, and is absorbed quickly. I use makeup over the top with no issues. I use after I hop out of the shower in the evening, and also around my eye and lip areas in the morning as well. We are all different, and no one diet, or skin regime suits absolutely everyone, but this is definitely worth a try, I think I will be buying this forever now!

Well, I use this product without any expectation and it’s just as what I expected.
It has floral scent that can be overwhelming if I put too much.
I’m not sure about its effect because it doesn’t do much different than my other hydrating serums. Considering the price, I think I can get a similar product with lower price.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this product; I knew it was aimed at ‘plumping’ my skin and smoothing, but I didn’t expect anything dramatic…and it hasn’t been. The serum is on the thicker side, and has the consistency of a gel (just a bit thinner than a true gel). I have been using it for a few weeks and it does the job of hydrating and plumping, just not in a very dramatic way. I think this product would be great in Fall or Winter, when the air is much dryer, as I could see it being great at helping skin maintain hydration. I like it, I’m just not blown away – but again, I think this will be a winner in the colder months when my skin is really dry and needs extra help in staying moisturized. For that reason, I think I would re-purchase.
**Update: I’ve been using this consistently…and now it is dramatic. As in, I look like I’m wearing highlighter on days when I’m not wearing anything (zero makeup) on my face. I’ll take that! 😉 Since it is on the thicker side, I do tend to use it a bit sparingly on my face, but the results are now very apparent and I’m very impressed. It took a while to make an impact, but now I love it and expect that as the weather gets cooler and my skin naturally gets drier, I won’t be as scared of putting ‘too much’ on my skin.

This is a somewhat sticky turbid gel containing two types of hyaluronic acids (according to La Roche-Posay/L’Oreal) and vitamin B5 (Panthenol). The amount of the Vitamin B5 is unspecified, but my guess is that it is somewhere between 1-3%. It also contains Madecassoside that is excellent for aging skin but also as an anti-inflammatory agent.
The gel has some oils and some modified oils that are water soluble PEG-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, Dimethicone, , PPG-6-Decyltetradeceth-30, Glyceryl Isostearate.
It contains some glycols for hydration (and microbiological protection of the product).
It also has a higher amount of alcohol for compensating for the heavier feel contributed by the oils and for microbiological protection of the product.
The gel is stabilized with Ammonium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate and Xanthan Gum.
Theoretically it should be suitable for even sensitive skin, however, the amount of alcohol and the added fragrance would not be advisable for people with such skin type.
Since the gel is a richer type of serum and it is perceptibly present on the skin even after absorption, I believe that it is most suitable for dry/very dry skin types and normal/combination skin in colder weather or as a temporary supplement more like a cure.
