I have all but finished a bottle of this after stalking it in shops for several years but never really having the guts to spend the money on it given that it is a pretty pricey product. Eventually I plucked up the courage and bought it, so what do I think of it?
Well the first thing you might notice about this product is its unique appearance, which is what drew me in. I am all for “get up and glow” and thought that this would be a lovely product to wear in the mornings to wake up my face before makeup. I was disappointed but not entirely surprised that the opalescent glow of the serum does not translate to your face, so please don’t expect this when you buy it. It isn’t the best under makeup base either actually, some people have said it balls up, I have found that this can happen if you don’t massage it in enough – perhaps people have been laying it on thicker and not massaging in an effort to get some of that glow to translate onto the face, I don’t blame them but it doesn’t work unfortunately. Massaging it in will allow you to lay makeup over the top unhindered.
I have noticed no difference in my skin, but do find this a lovely lightly hydrating serum with a beautiful appearance and smell. It’s nice to use if you want just those things, but if you’re expecting more then it might be best to look elsewhere. I use it when I don’t want much on my skin and feel like it needs refreshing and it’s a very nice experience applying it. I have given it 4 lippies because I’ve really enjoyed it, but I won’t buy it again because it’s not worth the price and it doesn’t do much beyond feel nice, look nice and cost a lot.

This review is based on two samples I received from an agent, so I cannot say anything about longer term benefits for the skin. I will just comment on the look and feel of it.
This serum looks and feels great. It really is glowing, not shimmery. It’s a runny gel liquid that has an opalescent sheen, reminds me of the sheen in gasoline/crude oil when it floats on water. Lots of different colors floating in and out of each other. One sample was enough for four applications here, so everything seemed very promising.
It spreads easily and if you can get it to work, it does shine through your moisturiser and foundation and provides that healthy glowing skin I was looking for.
Unfortunately I can only get it to work on its own. Whenever I put a moisturiser or foundation or TM on top, this serum makes it pill within an hour or so. I tried exfoilating, using lighter moisturisers, using waterbased, using oil-based. I pills every time. I just cant get it to work. I really wish it worked, because I love the glow it provides, but since it’s not moisturising enough for me to use alone, I will not buy the full size. Get a sample before you buy, since it’s pretty expensive.

I like this serum for daywear. It has loads of hylauronic acid in there which plumps skin. It contains anti oxidants, anti aging ingredients (milk proteins etc) and infuses the skin with glow. Oily skin might be able to use it on its own but I definitely use an SPF cream on top. It has much in it which diffuses light, so it’s nothing for nightwear. The only negative thing I have to say about it is the smell. It had a very strong rose-lychee smell. I would prefer a less intense and more subtle scent.

What this is:
A serum that doubles as an illuminator and can be used on its own instead of moisturizer, or on top of makeup as a higlighter.
The packaging is a very pretty transparent bottle that comes with a pump.

My thoughts on the product.
First thing I noticed about this product is that it spreads extremely well on the skin, so one little pump is more than enough to do your whole face and neck.
The consistency doesn’t feel oily at all, but it definitely feels like a serum and I don’t find it extremely moisturizing. I would say that in Summer it would be great used on its own but in Winter or if your skin is on the dryer side, you’ll need to use a moisturizer on top. (My Becca hydrating primer works well on top of this).
The product is infused with little particles that do reflect the light once they’re applied on the skin. I’m not talking glitter, obviously, but it’s like a fine shimmer that shows through the serum and gives you a nice subtle glow. I really mean subtle, to the point that, if you put moisturizer or foundation on top, I find this practically disappears. Bummer, because you lose the “glow” part of the “get up and glow” concept.
But I need to say that the product has other benefits, and that spending that kind of money for an illuminator would be too much in my opinion, so let’s focus on these other features.
About the active ingredients:
As you read, Oskia claims this serum is infused with tons of natural and efficient ingredients.
The fact that hyaluronic acid is very high in the ingredient list indicates there’s a high concentration of it in the product, and this is good because we love hyaluronic acid for its anti-aging action. The glycerin, also in high concentration, is a good thing for moisture.
The Yeast extract are also used in the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum that I love so much, so that’s good as well, and that the MSM is said to contain sulfur, which has clarifying properties.
On a negative note, there’s benzyl alcohol in the formula, which can be drying, but personally I haven’t had any problem.
So I would say this product is packed with a lot of good ingredients and that I think it makes a good daytime version of my Advanced Night Repair, also with a texture more suitable under makeup.
The “negative” point.
Oskia (London) position themselves as a high-end brand with scientific background and innovative ingredients coming from nature, as such, they place the price tag quite high.
At £ 64,50 ( € 76, USD 99) this is an expensive serum, but it’s definitely a nice treat.
NOTE: I wasn’t sure I’d repurchase, until I dropped and broke the bottle. I really missed using it and did spend the £64.50 again, so that shows how much I love it.
