DHC Extra Concentrate Collagen Serum ?
Though this felt and looked like an oil product, it was lightweight and absorbed quickly into my skin. My dry/dehydrated skin immediately sucked it up and felt more hydrated without any oiliness.
Since I only had a single sample that provided about 3-4 uses, I can’t say anything about long-term effect, but it definitely got me curious about the product and I did some more research. I found that this product actually comes as a series of vials at $45/ 0.2 fl. oz. x 5 with suggested use of one vial per week. Does anyone know if the product changes after opening? I am the kind of person that would try to extend the number of uses as much as possible! This seems to be pretty pricey to maintain, so I may not purchase the full sized product unless it goes on super sale or it’s significantly cheaper in Japan. It would be a sad situation for me if I tried the full-sized product and see results, then have to stop using it because I can’t afford to maintain it. There are plenty of other Japanese/Korean products out there where you get more bang for your buck.
As you probably know, with an oil acne product you need to mix your oil with each nascole. Before adding it, apply 2-3 fl oz. of oil a.l.p., a product will fall out if you don’t get hydrated. The rest of the oil drops off your face and hair without any noticeable stain. It can taste really good as well as moisturizer. If it is going to be overly sensitive, a dab can soften your skin and leave your skin feeling a bit dry. For my skin, that’s the most important to find, but for whatever reason it doesn’t seem to work for me. The clean-burning option you get is usually the thinner part of the product in my case, but it doesn’t seem to do the trick for me. It will take some time to figure out why, but it does take me a bit of time to figure out and fix my skin.
2. Primer Naturals Repair
My skin never has to deal with a blister problem, especially if it is after any oil that I had on hand. This fragrant pal from Primer is a great alternative for oily skin. The formula is all epoxy and it was very hydrating. I found myself swimming in a mixture of hydrated hydrating and dry, almost washing my face. The dry soap oil that comes with the product has an overbaked smell to it that gives it the hydrating and cleansed characteristics of a mousse. It is very watery. I usually blend it into different shades of toners and colors so that it will naturally soften my skin. For some people I have been using it for the past 4-5 weeks, and a fairly large amount went into it right away. And even so, I found myself washing my face with it constantly and liking it that much more.
3. Time Saving Flame Concealer Brush
In the morning before makeup went out of the bag, my other Morning Primer formula had broken down. It told me my face was now fine. However, when I came home to dry-wash it, that was before I even took a photo. Now I know my face doesn’t need to worry about having a whole room to dry it, but it really didn’t

This is the first thing I’ve bought from DHC that I’m actually returning. It had the opposite result of what I expected. It immediately made my skin very tight and dry and it looked like I had more lines than I had before! I couldn’t believe it, so I did some experiments using it on only half of my face, but sure enough this makes my skin worse. I didn’t see any other comments here like mine, but this is what happened to me. (I have very dry skin.)
I have better luck using the Water Base moisture as a serum. It’s very gentle, like water but full of hyaluronic acid to help draw moisture to skin. I put it all over my face, even around my eyes, and then I use a moisturizer on top.

While I’ve had positive results with this in the past, I totally get why it might get mixed reviews. On the one hand, this one of the few products w/DHC where their generous sample policy isn’t useful. I think you need a few days of regular use to notice the effect. On the other hand, have noticed that with long term sustained use, its effectiveness may dull. In the past, great for me plumping up skin w/fine lines, won’t totally rid you of fine lines(sigh), but with the skin will look fresher and play down the fatigue on face. I almost took a lippie off for the price. Am not currently using it, not because of effectiveness, but because I’ve had to tighten my belt a bit in this economy. Packaging can be awkward, especially when first using it. I got pretty good at getting out just the right amount and not wasting. I find it helps to tap it on, and to make sure your face isn’t sweaty or damp from a hot bath. It will absorb more quickly with a dry canvas. My advice, buy a month’s worth supply(one package) when you want to plump up your skin a little for when you may be photographed in month’s time or are about to visit hometown where you might run into high school nemesis. Use it sporadically rather than consistently. So, it’s a four lippie for me, but I could totally get why it would be less for others. Also, this isn’t a time reverser, more like when you want to freshen up plumpness of skin without looking like you had “work done”.

I used a sample of this and based on that I won’t be buying the bigger bottles. Maybe if I used a entire full size I would be more impressed. I did not like that it is really liquidy and feels like a lot is being wasted.

I bought this set of 4 glass vials of this magical serum after reading an utterly convincing review in DHC’s “magalogue.” The user said her husband instantly noticed her face up close and saw a huge diminishment in lines and improved overall texture. The website states:
“This concentrated collagen treatment softens the signs of environmental damage almost as soon as it’s applied to your skin. Use one vial per week of this preservative-free, skin-plumping treatment and sun damage and wrinkles will be noticeably less apparent; the moisture content of your skin dramatically increased.”
The texture is just like water (no thickeners, fillers, or residue) and absorbs into skin right away. no peeling, residual stickiness, or film. The package is a weeks worth in a vial, which you have to keep in the fridge if you don’t use it up right away, since it’s preservative free.
Well, the first 2 weeks were right on target. heavenly, heavenly results! my skin was tighter, smoother, more plumped and hydrated, and fine lines virtually went into hiding. (Being very strict in my own clinical trials, i monitor product usage carefully with other contributing factors to make sure what i am using is attributable to the product and not other factors) The effects were so astonishingly dramatic that i almost thought i had found my HG. However, by week 4, the glowy results were not as strong as before, and i feel that my skin adjusted to the product, rendering it very weak.
At $40 for 4 weeks worth of serum, it’s pricey. I may just give it another shot one day, but my results were mixed.
