There are two listings for this, so will post on both, but I used to use the Stridex in the red container/box with 2% SA but since I also use a topical BP acne gel, the combo was just too much for my skin.
Decided to try these instead with only 0.5% SA and aloe and witch hazel, so much better. I mostly use this like a toner after washing AM and PM and let my skin dry, then follow with my BP. Works very well, no issues! Compared to all the toners on the market, this is one of the only I could find where the ingredients werent comedogenic, most toners have something in them that my reactive skin just doesnt like. This doesnt bother my skin, and makes it smooth. I also think its helped balance my oil. Highly recommend if you are looking for something to tone thats gentle and non-comedogenic.
These are very saturated, which is great, but if I dont squeeze the pad out a bit before applying, it can take awhile for my skin to dry, so squeezing out excess works when Im in a rush and dont have time to wait for my skin to dry before BP and makeup. Good stuff!!!! Also– someone mentioned that Stridex has alcohol in them— no they do not. They specifically state that on the box, which is why they are so great!

Is this for real or just a dream? Honestly, I am blown away by this product!
Ok here’s the story: my skin is a mess. Oily t zone, dry cheeks, clogged pores everywhere, bumpy skin, very clog and acne prone. My derm prescribed me tretinoin, lowest dose and I’ve been using that every third day or so, sometimes more. The tretinoin definitley works and I have seen improvement but I also feel like it sloughs off the dead skin but that dead skin is not removed from my face enough by just using a washcloth so it clogs my pores a bit more? Does that make sense? Probably not lol but anyway, I have been getting rough dry spots and some acne, who knows, could be purging my skin.
Last night I was so sick of my skin, I ended up getting this, thinking maybe I should try a chemical exfoliant. A mild one like this. I really expected to wake up with the worst skin ever but it was the opposite!!!! That rough and bumpy skin on my forehead was smooth!! Could.not.believe.it. From using it just overnight?? Crazy but it did work for me so well!
So now I’m going to do tretinoin every other night and this on alternating nights and let’s all hope my skin doesn’t melt off 😀 let’s hope it continues to work this awesome.
I will update shortly.
Update: 9/14/17 Still working awesome!!

I have used this product for over 10 years, and it is the best toner I have ever used. I say that without qualification: it’s not that it’s great for the price, it’s that it simply is a fantastic product, period. If you have normal to oily skin this is a godsend. The 0.5% salicyclic acid and alcohol and fragrance free formula makes it perfect for daily toning and is a gentle but very effective chemical exfoliant. It also helps to treat and prevent acne (in conjunction with more aggressive acne medications). It cuts all of the excess oil on the skin without stripping or overdrying (no skin flaking, ever). It leaves no tacky residue behind. You just feel your skin is clean, fresh, and lightly exfoliated. It comes in pre-soaked pads, which makes it very convenient. The pads are truly generously soaked so that by the time you get to the bottom you’ll have to wring the last two out (nice). The pads themselves are a great texture: sturdy yet completely unabrasive and with the right amount and type of texture that if you wanted to you could physically exfoliate with them as well.
I recommend the 0.5% formula for daily use, but it is nice to have the 2.0% formula around for occasions when your skin is flaring up and you need a stronger toner.
I have tried many different toners at many different price points and this is the best I’ve ever used by leagues and bounds. Even though it is also the most unassuming, unfancy toner of all of them. The packaging borders on ugly. But the product itself is the best. I love it so much that I would buy it at any price point: it’s just my luck that it also happens to be super cheap.

I have very sensitive skin. Eczema prone, combination skin and hormonal acne. This is the only product I have purchased in a store that has helped my skin not only defend against acne, but improve my overall complexion.

I’m very surprised about the ratings on this product! The much touted stridex 2% BHA pads in the red box that everyone raves about on the boards didn’t do nearly as much for me as the sensitive skin pads in the green box. I think perhaps the maximum strength ones (in the red box) were too harsh- the next day after using them my acne would just be kind of tight and even more inflamed, my skin would be flaky from being dried out but oily at the same time to compensate for lack of moisture (even after using moisturizer!). The stridex sensitive skin pads (green box) seem to do the trick though. The lower dose of salicylic acid combined with the disinfecting witch hazel makes all my zits fade by the next morning without irritating or drying the crap out of my skin. BCP usually controls most of my acne but when my skin looks like it’s getting into a downward spiral I just use one of these at night for control purposes and the next morning my zits seem to be mostly healed, and pretty much completely gone by the end of the day. I know the menthol could stand to be left out, ingredient wise, but it doesn’t seem to effect my skin negatively so I really don’t care. I know that everyone’s skin is very different, thus the different results from each product for each person. Your mileage may certainly vary with this sort of product, if you ask anyone what cured their acne you’ll always get a different answer. But if your skin sounds anything like mine and if the stridex pads in the red box were too harsh for you too, this may work better for you like it did for me. I second what someone below me mentioned, I don’t regularly use this as a toner but it works awesome when you have clogged pores and you need a salicylic acid/ BHA toner to dissolve the dirt in them.

Edit: This product broke me out around my eyes and chin. Will be returning this product, yuck…

I debated between trying these, the Clinique Mild Toner of .5 saylic acid, and Paula’s Choice. As I was at the drugstore, it was too easy to pick these up, and based on the results, I have no reason to not stick with them.
I have overall normal to dry skin with occasional breakouts. However, since starting a workout routine a few months ago, I have been plagued with little bumps on my forehead from clogged pores. In just 3 days, by using the pad following my normal routine, the bumps are almost completely gone.
No negative effects ie. irritation or too drying (again, it’s only been 3 days)
For someone with serious blemish problems, I’m not sure if this would be strong enough, but it is perfect for my needs

the best way to describe these is “meh” there alright. love that it has aloe in it but it smells weird and for some reason when I use it, it kind of foams up, so first I ring out all the extra water type thing then I use it

I use Stridex Daily Care, alcohol free, maximum strength (2%), soft touch pads, red box. Nice little find here, effective pH BHA with no alcohol. The menthol needs to go (one lippie off), but it’s not actually causing any problems for me. I paid $3.97 and you get 90 pads!

I’ve tried these pads, and the Maximum Strength ones by Stridex. Out of the two, I like the Sensitive Skin ones less, but they’re still good and work if you have very minor acne. The difference is the amount of salicylic acid, and in this product, there is only .5%, so it is slightly effective in battling acne, but very easy on your skin.
