I bought this to fade some acne scars on my face; however; the scent was very noticeable and couldn’t get past it. I only used it for about 2 nights before deciding to give up on using it for my face.
It went back into my medicine cabinet, to be ignored until spring cleaning. Now, background of my skin: I have eczema – atopic dermatitis. I recently had a flare up (not due to this product) and went on to take oral medication to rescue my skin. I had recovered, but was left with loads of dark scab marks scattered on my arms, abdomen, and back. For me, these usually take months to fade. I was desperate for a remedy, as I’m getting married in October and my dress is backless and sleeveless ):
I remembered this product and how it’s supposed to fade dark spots. I know, I shouldn’t be applying creams that contain fragrance on my sensitive skin. But that was a chance I was willing to take. And I’m so glad I did!
I applied this cream generously to my body after taking a shower and while my skin was still damp. 1 week in, I noticed significant improvement. My scab marks are far less pronounced and closer to the shade of the surrounding skin.
TL;DR I didn’t end up using this as a facial cream due to scent, but used it for my body to fade scab marks from eczema and I’m super happy with results! 5 stars!!!!!!!!!!

Really wanted this work but it didn’t. Used it 2X a day for 2 months and there is barely any lightening on the tiny freckles and absolutely zero impact on a larger, darker spot on my arm.
The fragrance is noticeable but it wasn’t off-putting for me. Even though I used the Normal to Dry skin version it made my skin dry.
With the low price point it was worth trying but I won’t be buying it again.

I bought the travel-sized version in Normal to Dry. This cream feels nice and hydrating on my sensitive, dehydrated yet oily, acne-prone skin. Especially during the winter months! It doesn’t feel heavy greasy upon application, but I always wake up feeling disgustingly greasy and shiny the next morning. Thankfully, no breakouts from what I can tell. Next time, I’ll check to see if they have a travel version of Normal to Oily. If all else fails, I wouldn’t mind purchasing this one again, as it’s a decent inexpensive standby for the winter months at least.

I can hardly believe how much this has lightened up my old acne scars. All my acne scarring is superficial, but since they’re tiny red marks it looks like i have acne. I’ve been using this for a little less than a month and they have faded almost completely. I was worried about the fragrance since i have sensitive skin, but this has never broken me out. I have oily skin so i don’t need a heavy moisturizer. If you have very dry skin i would recommend putting something over top of this or even an oil underneath since it’s not super moisturizing.

I noticed that I was getting some fairly dark spots from old acne scars, and after trying several different products I finally decided to give this a try. I wasn’t expecting much, so when it faded a very dark brown spot to a pink spot within a week, I knew I found my holy grail. I use this as my second to last step in my skin care regime. I do apply an additional moisturizer after giving this about a half hour to really sink in. Just because I noticed my skin was on the drier side since using this. I’m very acne prone and have had no significant reaction to this. Maybe the beginnings of a pimple, but I just dab some Mario Badesco drying lotion on it and it goes away without leaving a mark.

I don’t use this cream where I am supposed to. Let me tell you why. I used it as a face cream once and I didn’t like how it felt around my eyes. It sting a bit. So I decided not to be wasteful and to just use it as a hand cream. Oh my.
First of all, I really like the smell. It is the old school grandma perfume kinda smell, but I love it. I don’t think the fragrance is that strong or annoying.
Also, I hate greasy lotions with all my heart. Just hate them. This is not greasy at all, it absorbs quickly into the skin without having to rub it in for the longest time. It also got rid of my ashy scaly elbows in only a couple of days. I think this is the first time in my life I’ve ever had pinky elbows.
So I will keep buying this cream. Not for my face tho, but for my arms.

I can tell why this product is so polarizing. First it contains mineral oil and isopropyl myristate, and both are notorious pore cloggers for some. Second, it contains scent, and while the scent is not very strong, it is there, and invokes tubs of cold cream from my drama club days.
Lastly, it comes in a jar, and we all know that tubes are more hygienic.
All that being said, this is gossamer light in texture. It is fluffy, almost like a cream-gel. And, a little goes a very long way. You do not need to pile it on.
I have been using it for about a month now and have barely dented the jar. Once a night, after cleansing, and I do skip some nights. I am not as oily as I once was, as I am older, but I am not very dry, and my pores clog easily.
My skin is very clear, smooth, and very, very soft. If you are dry, your skin will drink this up. I do not see much fading of melasma, but the spots seem a bit softer in tone.
And it is dirt cheap.

I confess I have a soft spot for Ponds. How many times has someone asked an elderly relative how they kept their complexion so soft and young and the answer was, “Ponds”. As a moisturizer this is perfect, not too heavy, not too light, the scent is pleasant and not overbearing. It does the job. As a dark spot corrector, for me the jury is still out. Even though I am nearing the end of a 7 oz jar, those pesky spots still require concealer every morning. But asking a jar of face cream to fade them away may just be asking too much. Sunscreen and a few more TCA peels, however, may just do the trick.
