This is so, so shiny on the skin. Might be good as a first aid cream but this is the least matt thing I think I have ever encountered. Very disappointing. I should have noticed that silicone was third on the ingredients list.

I have acne prone skin and find it very hard to not pick at it. Eventhough I really try not to, it can be very hard to control the urge sometimes. I bought this gel to apply afterwords.
It is a very slippery silicony gel that never quite dries down (not a matte finish at all as some people say here IMO)
It does feel very moisturising and keeps the wounds from scabbing
I don’t really feel like it helps with accelerating healing of the skin, redness or inflammation
It does not break me out
I don(t really now how I feel about this product. What bothers me the most is the sticky, greasy look it gives.

It’s very good for when your skin is peeling either from sunburn or winter dryness. I can wear my makeup on top with no issues.
That said, used on its own without exfoliation, it won’t heal it quickly but its a quick fix for when you need to look normal and not like flaky mess.

A very good gel with true healing properties with an elegant finish on the skin. Although it tends to feel a tad thick and somewhat too rich at application, it is absorbed quickly leaving an elegant silky, very skin-like finish.
Because of its composition and actives, this is a product that every skin type can benefit of.
It contains 5% Vitamin B5, minerals of (Zn, Mg, Mn, Cu) and an excellent anti-aging active: Madecassoside along with Sodium Hyaluronate.
All these actives have documented effect on sensitive, allergic skin, but also on acne-prone skin along with aging skin.
It can be worn alone (in the summer) or under an additional moisturizer (in the winter) and not only by those who need to accelerate healing of the skin.
The formula is suitable for a dryer skin type or skin that is allergic and prefers a more cushioning richer feel, although this gel is on the thinner side after it is absorbed. An oilier skin type would use a product like this in colder and dryer weather since it might feel too rich.
I find it not moisturizing enough in the winter and use it under an additional moisturizer, but unfortunately too rich in the warmer months.
I really like that it is truly fragrance free and that it comes in a tube that is easy to disperse the required amount.
The difference in the formula compared to the previous version(s) after it was reformulated in 2017, is the much higher amount of Vitamin B5 (5% in the current formulation) and the replacement of Cyclopentasilixane and Cyclohexasiloxane with Dimethicone and Polybutene and Dimethiconol. The feel is (almost) the same but theoretically even more elegant finish and hydration. I wrote theoretically, because I don’t experiene that it is more hydrating even though the mixture of the emollients would let one believe.

Amazing product, it has saved many days for me. I use it as a primer, after moisturizing and before foundation. On days where I have dry patches or breakouts, this makes my makeup glide on and look super smooth. It does need a bit of drying time, and be careful not to overdose, as it will cause pilling. Also, it’s no good on it’s own, it makes my face attract any dust or dirt around me!! NOT a good look. I keep it for emergency makeup days, and overnight for healing of skin. Since it’s expensive, I will probably not repurchase, as I don’t use it often… And let’s face it; if my skin is dry, patched, and breaking out, I shouldn’t be putting foundation on it anyway! 🙂

I am a big fan of La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume, and I meant to get another tube of that. I was in Europe, where they hand the product to you from over a counter, so I thought maybe there was a re-packaging, but I’m disappointed because the Baume is much better and a lot more moisturizing.
This did make my skin nice and soft and smooth when I put it on at night. It absorbed right away and it’s incredibly mild, but I get the impression from the instructions that it’s not really for every day use, but for healing after procedures or injury.
It was fine when my skin was healthy, but when I had a dry, flaky patch this burned.
I also don’t like this under makeup. I cannot wear a silicone primer and this acts pretty much just like one. I still love the Cicaplast Baume, but this one is a fail.

This stuff is amazing for healing! A couple of years ago I fell on my bike and scraped my face really badly. I hade a huge graze below my eye and over my mouth – I looked like a real mess. Anyway, I cleaned with water and put cicaplast on the fresh graze, and continued to put it on a few times a day keeping it from drying out. For every day the graze got a little smaller and exactly seven days after I fell the scab fell right off. Underneath was new, perfectly developed skin. Totally smooth and healed. No scarring what so ever. NONE. I don’t really care for this as skin care for my face, but for wounds and grazing in general it’s amazing. Highly recommended!

Burned my skin. I didn’t know this was the culprit as it is supposed to be soothing. Yesterday I was trying to prevent irritation around my mouth by applying a thick later. It started burning after 2 mins. Now the area is completely red. Tried to use it as a lip balm instead – not moisturizing either. use physiogel instead.

This was recommended to me to help reduce scarring after I had to get stitches on my face. I was told to massage it into the affected area twice a day after the stitches came out, pressing firmly to prevent thick/distorting scar tissue from forming. I had great luck with it (the scar was hardly noticeable after 6 months) and so did the friend who recommended it. My skin is pale and scars easily so I always keep this in my cupboard to help heal up abrasions and any potential scar tissue.
