I got this a few months ago, when my skin got majorly flaky after combination of Differin, benzoyl peroxide, traveling by plane and being out in the cold. My skin was flaky all over, with pink patches of rough, flaky skin that almost looked like eczema. The first 2 weeks of me trying to deal with this, basically: nothing I tried gave any significant change in the condition of my skin. I used the heavy creams that have always helped my skin when it was in need of intense hydration, but the dryness remained. I had almost given up, and saw this on 30% sale (it’s pretty darn expensive – I don’t know whether I would’ve tried it otherwise). I’m not a fan of this having perfume though. Not only do I see it as a bad idea to have perfume in skin care, but especially when making skin care for really dry skin, which often has a compromised barrier, there’s an even greater chance of irritation occurring.
I had no high hopes for this, and was pretty sure I had just wasted my money on a sales item, but I was so sad about my skin at that point that I didn’t care. This proved me totally wrong though. I don’t know how it would perform completely by itself, but when I applied it under the Avene Toleriane Teint Riche Cream (on of my go-to’s for super dry skin), my skin was totally smooth after 4 days of use! It went from rough and flaky to super smooth and hydrated – all of the dry patches had healed. Since, I have used it when I got flaky from retinoids. If I ever get super dry skin again, this will be my first choice of products to use.
