I received this oil as a gift from my aunt. Specifically, my aunt gave a bottle to my mom and one to me.
Unfortunately, I only used this once because it broke me out like crazy :((( I have sensitive skin in general but I have used jojoba oil and almond oil on my face in the past without problems. This made my face super red then I started getting more acne. My mom didn’t get acne though but she wasn’t satisfied with the oil as well. It’s very oily and thick and doesn’t absorb that well. She used it once and decided it didn’t suit her.
Even if I hadn’t received it as a random gift, I would have still bought it myself because the Abeille Royale line looks so luxurious and enticing. And I find that gold color and packaging irresistible. Also honey in general makes me feel like its supposed to be very nutritious for the skin.
So sad that this didn’t work out on my face T T

I love this oil. After using it I do not wear any make up; I receive compliments on my skin all day when I wear this.

I just discovered this and am in love. This oil with royal jelly from bees considered the purest in the world, is outstanding. I have just used it for a few days and my skin is so soft and supple. Of course it is a little sticky, because it’s honey!!! And of course it’s a bit watery because they have to diffuse the honey down. But it’s divine and it truly is one of the most exquisite ingredients possible for skincare! I have been using oils all of my life because I love them. But I never had one give me such effects and I know it’s the honey!! I wish I could afford the entire line but from reviews I have read elsewhere, this oil is the best in the line. I love guerlain! It’s that French genius!

I got a generously sized sample of this face oil, enough so that I had a good, long time to evaluate it.
All I can say is: ho-hum.
For an oil, it really wasn’t very oily at all. Perhaps this is because it has alcohol in it. It seems strange to put alcohol in an oil, but whatever. While it didn’t make my skin feel dried out, it didn’t make my skin feel supple and moisturized either.
It actually did absolutely nothing for my skin, good or bad. I’ve had far better results using Rosemire Melodic Skin infusion, a product which after only one use made me say “wow” the next day when I looked at my skin.
I’ve actually had pretty good luck with Guerlain skincare in the past, even though it bothers me that they put fragrance in everything, so this product is something of a disappointment.
This oil does have a fragrance. It’s not really strong, but if you are sensitive to scents, stay away!
No, I would not purchase this, but if I was again given a sample, I would use it.

the first product i purchased from Guerlain and after a month i am still not really sure what to make of it. I have used La Prairie dry oil which i love . I only use this oil at night as it speads easy but feels a little tacky on my skin but by morning that has gone. As i have been perscribed vitamin A cream i need to make sure my skin is hydrated and i feel this has helped alrhough i still prefer my Dry Oil
It is good on dry skin on the body though and i apply two drops on the back of my hands each night and rub it in here it absorbes superbly and i apply hand cream on top It is helping my skin heal after sun exposure I am however liking the sample of toner and cream i received as a gift when i purchased this oil. i will probably not repurchase this oil but i have high hopes for other Guerlain skin care
well after another month i have gone back to my La Prairie oil. but this i am using on my hands and heels where it works well For me it is not good for my face I would purchase it to mix with my hand cream again but as for my face. no definatly not. I am happy with the honey necter toner though as this has been good and the orchid cream i also enjoyed using
It is now June and i am half way through this bottle. While i would not use it on my face again. I have revised my thinking to purchase it again as it has been fabulous when mixed with a good quality hand cream at night. My hands take a real beating in the hospitality field where i work and winter dry conditions. this oil has made my hands soft and helped keep them intact If you are dissapointed in guerlain as a face oil try it with your body and hand creams

I knew for a fact that none of Guerlain skin care products that I have tried so far leave a good impression on me. So I was surprised myself that out of compulsiveness I purchased this gigantic fragrance water. The SA told me how this product is going to lift and tone your skin. I have diligently applied this product for a week and it didn’t impress me at all.
For an oil, it is way too watery. It doesn’t have the consistency that face oil should have. The fragrance is too strong I felt like I pour down perfume on my face. It leaves a tacky feeling behind. The application requires an extra effort too. Despite the product is quickly absorbed, it leaves a very sticky feeling. It just gave me slightly hydration but aside from that I am really disappointed with it.

This is a very misleading representation of a face oil. It’s extremely watery (why is there alcohol in this oil!?) and obnoxiously fragranced. Not to mention the fancy-shmancy honey extracts and other beneficial ingredients are present in such a minute quantity that I doubt it actually does anything. You’re better off with slathering pretty much any other pure oil on your face. At least those aren’t tampered with drying alcohol and potentially irritating fragrances.

I received samples of this face treatment oil when I purchased the Guerlain Lingerie de Peau foundation so have only used it a few times but that was enough to determine that I would never purchase this for it’s intended purpose. It doesn’t feel like an oil at all (not that I consider that a bad thing) but it’s like putting something like sugar water on your face. It absorbs quickly but doesn’t feel hydrating and it leaves my skin so sticky I can’t stand the feel of it on it’s own. It’s not bad if you layer your night cream overtop but I swear my face would stick to my pillow if I left it on it’s own. As other reviewers have mentioned, it does a nice job as a primer, really gives your foundation something to grip onto and I usually mix 1-2 drops of a facial oil in with my foundation before applying anyway. This is a great technique if you suffer from dry skin or want to give your skin a luminous glow. I don’t find that it sheers out my foundation either. As with most Guerlain products, this is expensive and I just can’t see myself shelling out for this oil over some of the others I’ve tried. To be fair, I can’t say if this product provides any of the benefits it claims because I have only used a few samples but for me, I just didn’t enjoy using it.

I purchased this product at my local Nordstrom for $98 USD which is kinda pricey. However, I only need to use 4 or 5 drops at a time to moisturise my face and neck, so it has lasted almost a year. That’s not actually terrible value for the money considering. The scent is light and honey-like and it does not break me out or cause any allergic reactions. I have oily skin so this is just enough moisture for me, though it does leave behind a slightly sticky feeling on my skin. The best use of this product though, seems to be as a makeup primer. It makes any makeup you apply look a million times better.
I don’t think that it would be enough by itself for someone with dry skin and that would be the main downside as having to layer multiple products from this line gets VERY pricey very quickly.

I love most Guerlain make up products and of course fragrances. After a big make up haul the Guerlain SA gave me many samples and 2 pretty generous samples of this oil 5ml each . I took a look of the ingredients and I wasn’t impressed at all but since I had it i decided to try it anyway . First of all this isn’t an oil. Its very watery absorbs pretty much easily and leaves a slightly tacky feeling behind , Its very thin and watery and fees like a regular serum and not like an oil at all. it has a slightly golden color and smells not strong like honey or honey-ish . its not even moisturizing enough for sure you need to apply a moisturizer over it if you have dry skin. I cant say that I have noticed any kind of improvement on my skin but one thing is for sure. This stuff on me at least works FABULOUSLY as a make up primer. As I said it leaves a sticky residue and apparently that helps my foundation to last and last looking fabulous all day long. Im really impressed by its performance as a primer. I have really dry skin and winter is a nightmare for me because all foundations look dry on my skin . Common primers do nothing for me mostly make my skin even dryer . this product really made a difference my foundation looked smooth and luminous and didn’t even set into my lough lines which always does. I used it as a regular primer after my usual skin care (cleanse, tone, serum, moisturizer) i put this on I wait a few minute and then I apply my foundation and I m really impressed it really works excellent as a primer. I wish it wasn’t so damn expensive . I cant convince my self to spent this much on just a primer .
