It feels nice under the eyes but it has a horrible scent of fish. I actually didn’t know it was this at first because at first there is not scent. Thank goodness it doesn’t last long but it grosses me out, it is a strong 🐟 smell.

Rich, moisturising lotion cream, absorbs easily, leaving the eye area shiny and sticky. First of all, it claims, “Targets under eye darkness for brighter, well-rested looking eyes”….NO! Doesn’t do anything for my dark circles.
Secondly, the inclusion of Omega 3’s is a terrible ingredient to use in cosmetics, making it stink of old salad dressing, vegetable oil, or rancid flax seed oil as it ages. Omega3s are a highly delicate and unstable oil that goes rancid smelling really quickly no matter how its stored. Its a bit like some forms of vitamin C. Sure, if you made this product from freshly pressed oils fresh every month, and kept away from light in a fridge they will be good for skin for the next 30 – 60 days. But after that they go off and cause MORE free radical damage to skin, causing what may feel like an allergic reaction. I got mine from Mecca Cosmetica (Australia and New Zealand dupe for Sephora). In the reviews there are alot of people saying they got an allergic reaction from this and it smells really really bad, like mine. One reviewer said it smelt like “fish oil”. When you get that distinctive “off” vegetable oil smell you know that its already gone off and aging your skin. Elemis do not make fresh batches of this cream every month and its not kept in lightproof packaging in a chiller, so this is no surprise to me whatsoever. Perhaps this brand has other nice eye creams formulated without rancid Omega 3s.
