This is a very thick balm. It is moisturizing enough but I do not like having to rub in a thick cream into the delicate eye area. Also this contain mineral oil as the second ingredient and contains paraben preservatives. Unscented. I like eb5 anti-aging eye cream better as it is very hydrating for me and has better ingredients.

this balm irritated my eyes. once applied the skin around my eyes would sting and l would feel a burning sensation. it also made my eyes water and my under eyes puff up. once l discontinued using it my eyes would recover in 24 hrs~. l will not buy again.

I am in the target demographic for this eye cream, turned 50 this year, and I absolutely love it! I have tried samples of many high end eye creams and this is simply the best at a great price point! I still have slightly oily skin but this rich cream sinks right in and I am able to use it both day and night. I wear contact lenses and have no sensitivity to the scent or ingredients which go very close to my eyes. It definitely counteracts undereye dryness and never looks crepey. Highly recommend it!

I recieved this free with the purchase of the matching skin balm. The texture is creamy but thick so u have to pat very gently around the eye area, the scent is not overpowering. I didnt see any noticeable difference in the appearance of lines but I will say that after one week my lids looked very swollen, my eyes began to tear and get really red and I felt like I had allergies. I stopped using it for a month to give it a second try. Same reaction. This is not a winner for me. Will not repurchase

Update 12/24/2018: I have bought it twice since my review in 2012, however, it disappeared off shelves for awhile and then to my delight I saw it again. It looks the same except the it comes in a square jar instead of a round one. I think they reformulated it because I HATE now. It forms a thick waxy layer that just sits on top of skin and it pills under makeup. The Golden eye balm in the round jar was the one I loved because it extremely creamy, sinks into skin, and extremely hydrating. I have since changed my rating to reflect the current Golden eye balm (i.e., square jar).
I am not in the target market of this product, however this balm is a god send for dry under eyes! I have tried expensive eye creams such as Dr. Brant lineless all the way to drugstore eye creams such as Neutrogena ageless. None has been able to get rid of my deep dehydration lines. This balm has been able to moisturize without irritation and its not greasy. It is thick but it has not caused any mila. I would definitely buy again and hope they never discontinue this!
I dont know about the other review on this, but my golden eye balm has NO fragrance what so ever!

PROS: Moisturizing (but no more so that the regular Age Perfect or Revitalift eye cream.) Reasonable price.
CONS: Heavily fragranced. Sometimes runs into my eyes. Burns the eyes when it gets close to eye opening.
ALTERNATES: L’Oreal Age Perfect eye cream for mositure or Revitalift eye cream for wrinkles/moisture. For moisture, Devita Revitalizing Eye Lift Cream with Polypeptides
