So, let’s start by saying that I’m 41 years old and have been using L’Oreal’s Revitalift line very sucessfully for years! I’ve always liked the way it kept my skin looking smooth, blemish and relatively wrinkle free. The eye cream in particular always kept puffiness AND dark circles at bay. However, since my skin was looking a bit dull I decided to try Bare Mineral’s Brtilliant Future Age Defense & Renew Serum and since the accompanying eye cream was also on sale at Ulta I decided to try it as well.
I really like the Serum (I’ve written a review on it, if you like you can check it out!) and got some nice results using it, however, the eye cream….meh. I’ve been using it on a regular daily basis just as I have the Serum for over a month now. It’s a really nice eye cream, moisturizing, not irrititating at all and gives a nice smooth base for concealer. However, it doesn’t help with the puffiness under my eyes at all. Dark circles sure, but puffiness, no.
Just in case you want to check them out, here are the ingredients:
Water (Aqua/Eau), Butylene Glycol, Propanediol, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Glycerin, Ascorbyl Glucoside, Peg/Ppg-14/7 Dimethyl Ether, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Isodecyl Neopentanoate, Behenyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate Se, Dimethicone, Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Peg-40 Stearate, Polysorbate 60, Isohexadecane, Potassium Hydroxide, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hydrolyzed Lupine Protein, Polysorbate 80, Sorbitan Tristearate, Trisodium Edta, Medicago Sativa (Alfalfa) Extract, Silica, Sodium Citrate, Sorbitan Oleate, Citric Acid, Hydroxypropyl Cyclodextrin, Sodium Metaphosphate, Xanthan Gum, Oryzanol, Sodium Metabisulfite, Olea Europaea (Olive) Leaf Extract, Crataegus Monogyna Flower Extract, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5, Manganese Pca, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-38, Bupleurum Falcatum Root Extract, Tocopherol, Lycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Phenoxyethanol,Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Iron Oxides (Ci 77492).
And here are product details that the Bare Minerals website shares:
Manganese is a known antioxidant to help defend against environmental stressors. Vitamin C helps resist signs of aging and support skin’s natural collagen. Alfalfa seed reduces overall puffiness and improves tone. Eye-reviving peptide improves the appearance of dark circles to promote a revived eye contour. Dermatologist tested. Ophthalmologist tested. Non-comedogenic. None of our products are tested on animals.
Overall, this eye cream helped with under eye circles but not really with puffiness, at least on me. So I’ll be sticking with the L’Oreal Revitalift Eye Cream which combats undereye circles AND puffiness!
