I don’t like this. It’s very hard to spread evenly… It leaves a streaky finish and nothing covers it except a very opaque polish. Considering that this isn’t cheap, I would skip this and try something different.

Nope. Just nope. I guess if I had to say more than nope, I might point out that this base filler essentially destroyed my nails. I have purchased this product twice, once years ago and more recently, forgetting that I did not like it. The worst. It doesn’t fill the ridges but often makes ridges more apparent. The colour has a shimmer and goes on quite patchy which is apparent when used with any nail polish that isn’t completely opaque. It adds to the nail polish application time where it need not be. My nails are so dry and brittle when using this. Great price for a nail slaughter.

I Iove SV quick dry top coat so I wanted to try a base coat since a few of my darker polishes were staining my nails. At the store this was the only one available so I bought it. I’ve used it a few times but I hate it. This was causing my polish to chip sooner than normal. It was the only thing in my home manicure routine that had changed. I am now using Essie millionails as my base coat with Essie polish and SV top coat and my polish lasts for a good 4 days or so again. Like I have mentioned in other reviews I’m sure if I did things like wear gloves while cleaning and washing dishes it would last longer. This base coat will be going in the trash.

Ok I really don’t understand the bad reviews! I wish I had a before and after photo! I had a really bad break /crack that went to the middle of my nail and it was like past the bed of my nail so I couldn’t really cut or file it off without allot of pain. I had to use the tea bag trick with Sally Hansen acrylic gel . I did like three layers because I wanted it secure enough to grow out a little. Anyway I put like three layers on and the Sally gel gets super thick so my nail was very uneven! Very very uneven! Like a lump where my break is. So I needed a top and base coat and after hearing good things about this company I decided to get both, I needed more of a base coat than a ridge filler but what the hell, they didn’t have any other brands at winners. Anyway i put two fairly thick coats of the base on top of the nail gel and it actually made a huge difference in the unevenness. I even found it to dry in that nice glossy way too! If you are trying to even out your nail at all I would fully recommend this product. I could see myself using the rest of this bottle since I’m into holo nails right now, and they show every imperfection! I really like this base !

I saw many bad review on SV ridge filling base coat but it works for me. I applied two coats of the base coats, two coats of polish and seal with SV fast drying top coat and it last for 10 days. The difference I notice when applying the ridge base coat is, my polish went on smooth and no streak as compare to before without using SV ridge base coat. I bought this base coat is because of a dent on my left thumb nail and surprisingly it help smooth out my nail polish application. Love it.

I do not have a serious nail ridge issue per se, but I have minor ridges on my right big toenail and my left ring finger. I needed to purchase a base coat, and after successfully using Seche Vite top coat, I decided to give Seche Vite Ridge Filling Base Coat a shot.
The main thing with this base coat is that it is not transparent, which is obvious from the bottle. It has a sheer, slightly opaque cast . This is no big deal if you wear colorful polish. But I almost always wear sheer nude polish (mainly Essie Mademoiselle). As a result, my manicure ended up with a bizarre milky cast, which I did not care for at all. Luckily, I saved the receipt, took it back to Walgreens and traded it out for Seche Vite’s clear base coat. Now I’m happy.
Having said that, while using the ridge filling base coat with Seche Vite top coat — together with my Essie polish — my manicure lasted over a week with no major chipping or peeling. So it’s effective, but it just shows through sheer polish.
However, when I first put it on, I though it looked sort of cool on its own because it has a slight shimmer to it. It might look kind of nice by itself with just a top coat over it for low-maintenance days… just a thought.

I don’t think I have ever disliked a product enough to review it a 1!
I am a big fan of the fast drying top coat so I ASSUMED (you know what they say about assuming…) that this product would be great. Boy, was I wrong!
This product caused my polish and top coat to promptly peel off of my nails within the same EVENING! It was the weirdest home mani experience I have ever had.
It is being returned to the store for a refund. However, Seche Vite owes me back a couple hours of my life back! 😉

I have been looking for a filling base coat for my “wavy” nails because I buffed too much and it got weak. I found myself stupid buying this only because of the name. Thought I love their top coat so must be great the base coat too (hmmm…. why?) But well, it sucks! Expensive and chipping after 7 hours!
I do take a lot time with my manicure (nearly an hour). I do clean the fat from my nails before put on the base coat and then 2 coats of OPI color and Seche Vite fast drying top coat.
I have uploaded a picture here, I have used the ridge filling base coat from Seche Vite, I had my personal BEST quality nail polish ever with 2 coats (OPI DS Classic – never chipped before with normal base coats!) and Seche Vite top coat. I done my manicure yesterday night before I went to bed, and day after in the morning (today) went to shower, got on the bus – went to work, and this photo taken when I saw the chipping. So so so so so annoying – just the beginning of the day! Or is it because of 13th of Friday?! 🙁 I hate this product. Never happened this fast with Original Nail Envy neither.
But there is one plus: fills the ridges – that’s my 1 point, otherwise I would give 0
NEVER BUY THIS AGAIN – and I think I gonna give this away to someone…

Yik. This is a terrible base coat – for any purpose. It is not effective at filling ridges, or at holding polish better to the nail. It does not even create a smooh or even surface/base. I found it made my mani/pedi last less time when using this base. The polish chips aftera couple of days around the edges, and begins to peel a day later. The polish even peels off the nails in one piece. Th formula is gloopy and bubbly, uneven and streaky – which, obviously is terrible for lighter shades. Very disappointing. I woul never repurchase or recommend to anyone.

I’ve used this at least 10 times, a mixture of both manicures and pedicures utilizing a variety of different polish brands always with the Seche Vite topcoat, and it has consistently disappointed me.
I don’t think it helps my nail polish stay on any longer, it’s hard to work with (going on somewhat streaky and thick), and it doesn’t prevent staining. I completely forgot it was supposed to help fill in ridges until I came to write this review because it doesn’t even come close.
In essence, it does nothing I expect a base coat to do and the only reason I use it is because I want to finish it up. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
