   I didn’t realize I needed this product until I saw a YouTuber explaining who it was (mainly) for: women of a certain age whose nails develop vertical lines, which are actually ridges. I’m not a big fan of Essie in general, but this particular treatment is very good. It fills the ridges (as long as I don’t use too thin a coat) and works well as a base coat at the same time, which is exactly what it claims to do.

   Not a fan of this ridge filler base coat. Didn’t seem to make a difference in the overall smoothness of my nails also it did not add strength that most ridge fillers add. It appears to be no different then any other basic base coat polish. Would not recommend. It also seems to make my nail polish lasted less then normal.

   If I don’t change polish or otherwise touch it up as soon as there’s chipping my nails peel. Have been able to avoid that happening for a couple years but I picked this up when I ended up with two peelers.

   I apply over Feed Me (hg for dry nails) and it does create a smooth surface for polish. It’s beige, applies without streakiness and just happens to be the perfect base for Loreal color 696 – the tempress’ power, a sheer, iridescent beige with blueish miscroshimmer.

   Lastly, this base coat looks better – more ‘polished’ – than bare nails under a clear or sparkly top coat. A good mad-dash manicure is this topped with a clear, speed dry top coat.

   Found this at TJMaxx for under $5. I’ve been looking for a good ridge filler and this is ok in regards to that purpose. It smoothed my nails out a bit but nothing great. I do like using it as a nude polish. The shade works perfect with my NC42 coloring.

   I bought this filler to even out my nails after I peeled off my gel manicure yet again…

   This is going to work for you if you have some damage, peeling and of course moderate ridges however it will not even out nails if it has deep ridges.

   I use it as a base coat now even though my nails are no longer damaged because it make my nails look like I got them done at a salon.

   This product has a baby pink creamy color and a creamy consistency. It dries pretty quickly (my right hand is dry by the time I finish painting the left hand 🙂

   I think that my hopes were too high for this product when I bought it. I had just taken off my acrylic nails that had been on for over a year, and I thought that this would fill in some of the weird lines that were leftover. Although it didn’t fill in all of the random ridges, I guess it took care of some. I thought that it would be a thicker consistency than it was. The reason I gave it 4 lippies instead of 3 was that it ended up being a really good base coat. My manicure didn’t start chipping until day FIVE, and I bartend for a living, so my nails go through a lot of wear on a normal night. I was very, very impressed with the way this stuck polish to my nails… although, I guess my Orly top coat might have helped too.

   This is a fairly good Ridge Filler IME. While I still prefer OPI’s ridge filler first and foremost, this does a pretty good job of evening out my nail bed pre-polishing. Like OPI’s .. this has a somewhat sheer “white” cast to it that also works well to eliminate some of the discoloration that nails tend to get from darker polishes. It doesn’t do much to increase the wear of polish .. but being a total nail junkie, nothing stays on long enough for that to even be a factor. All in all .. a solid ridge filler, that will undoubtedly get used up.

   Unfortunately I have to agree that this is not a great ridge filler. I forgot to ask my nail technician what she recommended, but I figured Essie’s a good brand so I’d just pick it up. It smoothed out some of my ridges – but so would any nail polish if I applied one layer on it expecting to cover it with another.

   I put two coats of the ridge filler on, but still didn’t get great results. I proceeded with navy blue nail polish – the ridge filler didn’t even act like a base to prevent dyeing the nails. None of it really works. Not recommended.

   This is a decent ridge-filler, but not as thick as other brands’ formulas. Other ridge fillers separate into fluid and powder in the bottle if left unshaken for long periods of time, but not this one. In fact, it appears almost like ordinary peach polish. It smooths nails adequately, but is not as strong a base coat as, say, Orly Bonder.

   Essie has more than one ridge-filling product: one for artificial nails, and one for natural nails.

   The one for artificial nails appears to be an off-white color in the bottle, while the one for natural nails is peachy.

   Perhaps those who reviewed this item poorly were using the one for artificial nails on their natural nails.

   I noticed this while shopping on eBay. I haven’t received my bottle yet, but I’ll update once I try it.

    It seems that I am in the minority on this one. I brushed this on, planning to apply color over it, but my nails looked so pretty with only this that I skipped the color. This product gave my nails a pretty, smooth, buffed look—my nails looked very healthy, pretty, and finished. My HG base coat, SH Dries Instantly, seems to have been discontinued. I really like this and plan on repurchasing when I run out.
