Opal is a flakie top coat. A friend handed it down to me, because it ‘didn’t work for her’. I used it over dark green, cream polish (Color Club Artsy Crafty) and the combination of colours worked really well. Also I was pleased that the flakies were relatively easy to spread out evenly, despite the thick suspension jelly. However, the surface felt rough, even after a couple of coats of clear top coat over the top.
I quite liked the effect, but I did not love it and I don’t see myself wearing it often (if ever at all). For that reason I wouldn’t repurchase.

I bought this from the outlet book and was really excited to use it because I am partial to iridescent colors. This polish is absolutely beautiful … In the bottle! Applying it was a thick, gloppy mess. It looked and felt awful. Rough and snagged my blouse when it was dry. I am glad I only paid 1.99 for this mess. I guess you sometimes get what you pay for. I would never buy this particular polish color again.

After seeing many other high end polishes including flakey specs I purchased this polish. It applies rather thickly and not smooth at all. It gave my nail the effect I wanted but I ended up with the most horrible textured nail even with a top coat. I barely use due to this. If your after a cheap polish with this effect its your ideal, I wish I’d have saved for something such a china glaze instead

I received this as a christmas gift, I used it on my toenails over some sinful colors nail polish. I don’t really like it only because I’m not really sure how you’re supposed to use it? So maybe its just me. Other than that I usually love Avon’s nail polishes, this one not so much..
