The gel is a reasonable price, it goes on easy. But it stated that it would not drag color, well it does. I made sure that the polish was very dry before applying the gel. A little disappointed, but it will do fine for the cost.

To everyone stating it doesn’t last 14 days, the instructions recommend reapplying every 3-4 days.
I swear by this product. Saving me hours at the nail salon on shellac.

Pros: economical, will keep polish on for 3-5 days on average, performance is comparable or better to more expensive topcoat options.
Cons: does not last near the 14 days advertised, gel like sheen not present
I wouldn’t purchase again simply because I found something I like better. However, for the price, it is not a bad value but you need to adjust your expectations as the product may not live up to its claims.

I am one of those unfortunate people whose nail polish is chipping and peeling within 12 hours of the topcoat drying. I can hardly ever keep polish on my fingernails, and it’s super frustrating. I’ve tried pretty much every high-rated top- and base-coat out there, and my fingers laughed at me and my sad face when I saw the chips start appearing only a few hours after I finished my nails.
BUT NOT ANYMORE. I picked up the nail-aid Gel Xtreme Shine top coat when I saw it at Walmart. I thought “Hey, why not, it’s like $5. Worse comes to worst, I’ll give it to a friend.” So I filed and buffed my nails on Thursday, polished them on Friday with this as the topcoat, and went about my business. I used a linear holo polish (Float On by ILNP, check them out Barbra’s polishes are fantastic~), and I realized this wasn’t quite as shiny as I liked, so I threw a coat of Seche Vite on top for the added shine.
Saturday wound up being a true test for the nail-aid Gel Xtreme Shine top coat. One of my friends and I have the same car, and we both needed to change our front brake pads, so we decided to make a day of it. Changing them isn’t too complicated, but it’s hard work… and super dirty. I was already resigned to having to remove my nail polish after scrubbing all the grime from the brake dust and general car-underside dirtiness. Imagine my surprise when the grime came off and my nails were unchipped! There’s some tip wear and the tiniest ding on my index nail, but everything else is perfect. It’s amazing! And so cheap! Seche Vite’s $8-$10 a bottle, and most other gel or gel-like topcoats are around the same price range.
nail-aid Gel Xtreme Shine top coat is now my Holy Grail topcoat. I’m never looking back.

Love love love. Lasts long, glides on easy and dries incredibly fast. My favorite before this was Sally Hansen hard as wraps acrylic gel + nylon, but this stuff is way better for less than half the price! nail-aid has a thinner consistency which makes it easier to put on. Because it dries almost instantly you can also re-coat before you run out the door without hassle! If you put on a reasonable coat (not too thick) you can be fully functioning in about 1 minute. 4-stars because no it does not last 14 days, but re-apply a new coat every 3-4 days and it just might!!

This top coat is no joke. Walmart didn’t do me wrong for once.
In my list of financial priorities, nail salon appointments rank very low. But, since I’ve been working as a waitress & spending time with waitress coworkers, I’ve begun noticing how important perfect nails are.
more chips = less tips!
I saved the big bucks a gel or acrylic manicure would’ve costed me by
a.) buying this stuff dirt cheap.
b.) being pretty good at self-painted french tips.
c.) sticking to a strict bare-nail strengthening & growth regimen for the past month.
Product:
I personally ADORE it’s consistency when going on. It’s just liquid-y enough to coat the very edges of your nails.
I’ve NEVER experienced a drying time this FAST from a top coat… My previous go-to, Sally Hansen’s Clear Insta-dri, has nothing on this stuff.
After 2 coats it dries to a smooth, brilliantly shiny surface.
I swear, it looks and feels like a professional Shellac job.
The only reason I give it four stars is because it didn’t live up to it’s 2 week no-chip promise, but let’s be honest, 7-8 days is a HUGE improvement over any other top coat I’ve used, as much stress as I put on my hands & nails at work!
