The bottle says it’s a “moisturizing nail primer. I don’t know how moisturizing it can be when the second ingredient is SD Alcohol, a drying ingredient. It’s formaldehyde and toluene free.
It was more moisturizing than any other base coat I’ve tried.

You can find this product at Sally’s Beauty Supply. The name listed on productville is a little misleading—the bottle is named “base coat” and underneath described as a moisturizing nail primer. I just wanted to point that out in case anyone was confused! This product comes in a little or big globe shaped bottle with pink looking liquid inside. I chose the smaller bottle, .5 oz (the large one is 2.5 oz I believe) for a price of $2.49 with my Sally’s card ($2.99 without–get the Sally’s card, it pays for itself!). I use this base coat every time I do my nails–it gets the job done well. I found the coat went on well, no clumping or flaking, and dried quickly. I definitely think this product keeps my nails from staining yellow and makes the polish last longer. I also use Beauty Secrets’ Base Coat after I buff and file my nails, for a clean glossy look. I have strong, thick natural nails so I can’t speak for it helping dry or brittle nails but it does keep mine looking nice. I think this is a great choice for anyone doing at home manicures–on a budget or not!
*EDIT* I’ve been using this base coat for manicures and I’m becoming less enchanted with the product. It still works fine but I feel like the little nicks and chips are quite noticeable with brighter polish colors. I may switch to a ridge filling base coat instead. I’ll use this one up or pass on to my sister. This BC is worth a shot because of the price.
