Don’t like this polish – as a top coat, it shrinks on your nail. Which makes it look like the very tip of my nails have no colour because the polish recedes back. I’ve tried it with numerous colours and base coats, same effect.
Matte colour is great. Product is very thick.

LOVE this topcoat!! It dries really fast and is completely even… when I miss a spot I can put a dab on the spot and it’s seamless. It wears great without chipping too, I change my polish about every week or so and it didn’t budge whatsoever! Great stuff.

My bottle is five years old and still works perfectly. My polish is chalkboard matte in seconds. Dry time is also fantastic, since mattes dry fast. I particularly enjoy mattifying glitters for some reason. The effect only lasts for a couple days before becoming satin (which prompts reapplication), but that is typical of any matte I’ve used.

I really resisted the matte nail trend for years. I hated the look and never thought I’d ever want to try it. Years later I’m seeing so many amazing matte nail designs on Pinterest, so I relent and buy this top coat. Some reviews said it was very thick and slow to dry, but I found the exact opposite, it goes on smoothly and easily, dries as fast as a matte base coat and it can really blur imperfections in the polish. Maybe other reviewer bought a bottle that been sitting on the shelf too long, that’s my only idea why their top coat behaved so differently. I think this top coat is even more resistant to chips than a glossy top coat, and three days, no chips and only a little worn down on the tips. I usually don’t wear polish past three days due to nail growth starting to show and boredom. The only negative I have is that oily lotions or heavy hand creams can “shine-up” the matte finish and make it more of a satiny or eggshell finish. I had to avoid rich hand creams while wearing this top coat. That aside, I think I’ll be doing more matte nail designs and will definitely buy this again.

Effective, affordable, and easy to use. Just don’t put too much pressure while applying or it’ll move around the nail polish underneath and ruin your manicure.
Also, I read this tip online and – much to my surprise – it actually works: another handy use for matte topcoat is to make those impossible-to-work-with sheer polishes (a la Essie Ballet Slippers) usable. All you have to do is apply one thin coat of your nail polish, wait for it to dry, follow up with the matte topcoat, and then apply one or more layers of your nail polish again. I’m so ecstatic that now I can wear those beautiful, delicate sheer polishes without it looking like a hot, streaky mess!

I Love this top coat! It leaves a nice satin/matte finish to your polish. It makes dark polishes a little easier to pull off during the day.
I’m not crazy about it for my toes…..that’s just me.

Great mattifier! Does exactly what it is supposed to do! Does not look streaky and dries matte incredibly fast. The only reason I would not repurchase is because I would want to try a different mattifying polish, but regardless it is great. It cost me about $10 at Shoppers Drug Mart which is not bad.

I looked at a ton of reviews and comparisons of matte top coats before picking this one, and I am not disappointed. It makes my nails super matte, and I love the effect over shimmery and metallic polishes. I have been obsessed with trying all of my polishes in matte form ever since I bought it, and I get lots of compliments on the matte manicures.
It goes on very easily and dries reasonably quickly. It is definitely an effect polish, not a protective top coat, but I have good results using it over a non-chip glossy top coat first. It also gradually gets less matte over time, after 3-4 days it looks more satin than perfectly matte, but another coat will refresh it, and as far as I can tell that happens with every matte top coat.

I’m extremely torn about this product. On the one hand, it does a fantastic job mattifying my nails. It’s very satisfying to see your boring old polishes turn into gorgeous matte colours. My nails look amazing, with no more hassle than my regular nail routine is. On the other hand, I’m severely disappointed in this as a top coat. I’ve used it with two different, good quality and usually long lasting nail polishes, and with this top coat they’ve started chipping within one or two days. Despite a base coat (Essie’s All in one, which I adore), two coats of polish and this top coat, they don’t last nearly as long as they do with Seche vite top coat, my standard choice of top coat. I guess instead of creating a protecting layer like Seche vite does, this sinks into the nail polish more, and I feel like it makes the polish brittle. I get that a top coat that changes the appearance of a nail polishes won’t be as longwearing and protecting as for example Seche vite, but the way I see it it’s a problem when your polish chips earlier with top coat than it does without.
Overall, fun product, but I wouldn’t repurchase as I don’t fancy having to repaint my nails every other day.
Edit 14th of february 2016: I’m now about 100% done with this product. My OPI polish didn’t even last 12 hours before it just crumbled off my nails!! This top coat completley ruins any staying power of a nail polish. I feel tempted to give this a single lippie, but I’ll be generous and give it two because it does work as a mattifying top coat – for a short while at least..

This is a very good topcoat. I don’t love the brush (it’s the standard Essie brush, which I hate) but the product is great.
It goes on easily, dries very quickly, and is completely matte. I wasn’t sure I liked the look at first, but I’m really getting into it.
