I was not all that impressed with this product based on its intended use; I do a fairly good job with my manicures, so I do not really need to apply a manicure extender after a few days. When I did, just to try it out, it somehow reduced the life of my manicure (i.e., eventually caused the nail polish colour and top coat underneath to crack). I do, however, like to put a top coat underneath Seche Vite. I decided to try this one day and was really impressed. This stuff is really watery, so you have to wait a minute or two in between applying it and then the Seche Vite. The combination of the manicure extender underneath the Seche Vite makes my nails like iron – and I have tried this combo over different brands of nail polish (OPI, Essie, China Glaze, Sally Hansen to name a few) and it works every time. I would suggest giving it a try if you have this product and are looking for another use for it.

Like others I found this worked great when brand new but once opened it turned yellow, thick and stringy as it got older – even though I’d only used it once.

When the bottle is new, it really works for extending your manicures and also hardened my nails. However, as the bottle was used and the contents were exposed to more air, it yellowed, and I noticed it was putting a yellowish tone on my polish when I applied it. Out it went in the trash. I think you should be able to use more than half a bottle of a product before it goes bad.
No repurchase.

Let me start off this review by saying when this bottle was brand new and fresh this top coat was AMAZING, by far the best results from any top coat i have used, it dried super fast and just kept my nails looking shiny. Sadly, however, once I had used more than half the bottle it started to dry and thicken to the point i couldn’t use it. I had a lot of product left so I was pretty disappointed that I couldn’t use it any longer. I would say I still had a good third left in the bottle. The formula would streak and when you pulled it out the bottle the formula would get stringy( i don’t know how to describe it) SO i guess this is a great top coat when its brand new but after a while especially once you use about half of it it goes bad quickly…. i also paint my nails about twice a week so it wasn’t as if this polish was months old… i used a lot quickly i guess it just goes bad fast. If I can find this at a cheaper cost I would purchase it again and just get a good use out of it for a month or two.

I LOVE this, it’s a miracle for me! Very surprised that there aren’t more good reviews. I use this the day after I do a mani, that is after basecoat, 2 coats of color and Poshe quick dry top coat. I’ve tried it same day and it takes too long to dry. Using this this way, I get a full week with no chips, cracks or peeling on my natural nails. My only complaint is that I cannot find it at a beauty supply, but only at a discounter like TJ Maxx. Usually when I find it at TJ Maxx, it’s packaged with some other Barielle product that I am forced to buy, and won’t use. Oh well, I guess it’s better than not being able to find it at all. I would pay full price if I had to.

This topcoat did not play nice with me. It did not want to dry my polish, and when I applied it, it smeared the polish around. it was weird, and something that has turned me off of this product.

Wow, I can’t believe the success everyone else has with this product. I tried a couple of different methods—sandwiching it between my dried polish and regular topcoat as well as using it the second day as a reinforcer. No matter what, my mani chips like crazy when I use this. After a day or two, I see cracks in the polish, and then it starts to peel. I’m wondering if it makes the polish *too* hard—so when my nail flexes, the polish cracks because it doesn’t move with it.

I have always been able to find this at TJMaxx at a good discount, but I would gladly pay full price if I had to. This stuff is amazing! You don’t use it as an initial top coat but apply it the next day. I use on day 2 and 3 and can get a full week on my manicure. I hope it is never discontined.

Barielle Manicure Extender does just that and it’s one of my go-to top coats after doing my nails.
This product is intended to be applied a day or two after polishing (not as the initial topcoat). This applies very smoothly, doesn’t get thick other top coats have, and also dries fairly quickly. This doesn’t provide a ton of shine, but definitely does what it’s supposed to do, which is allow me more time in between changing nail color.

Works well but not fast drying. Would recommend to top this topcoat with Seche vite as other reviewers stated. I found mine at TJmaxx. I think $5 is a decent price, but I would not pay full price for this topcoat.
