Great inexpensive fast dry top coat from the Australian, cruelty-free, professional nail care brand, Hawley. Dries within 5 mins to-the-touch and completely dry at a max of 10 mins (especially if the bottle is older or over 2/3rds empty).
Lasts for a minimum of 4 days, before minor chips start to appear, but can last over a week (I always ‘cap my tips’ for all layers of polish: base, colour and top coat). Does not peel, nor remain sticky after application.
I wish the bottle would last a little longer, as once you get to 2/3rds empty, it becomes thicker and gloopy, but this applies to almost all fast dry top coats. It can’t really by solved by using polish thinner (i.e. not acetone), as this just makes the polish stringy (with thin tails of polish during application) and less manageable.
It does leave a little white cloudiness on the tip of the nails (more noticeable on darks, although this disappears within 12-24hrs) and with more than 2 or so days wear, it begins to get these indentations or ridges on some nails that become more pronounced with time.
Hawley has another, faster drying, top coat, ‘Hyper Dry 60 Seconds’ which is also good and does dry almost immediately after application. However, I prefer their normal Fast Dry top coat, as it doesn’t leave many application ‘lines’ (where not-enough polish was applied to the nail, creating some dents/ridges), dries more gradually (giving me time to go over areas that need more polish), the bottle lasts longer and the cloudiness and ridges are less noticeable on the normal Fast Dry than the Hyper Dry.
