I used the rose petal one for a couple of years a few years ago. Can’t remember why I stopped using it, but I decided to try the unscented one recently. It’s a little soon to tell if it does anything for my skin as far as acne goes, but it seems to depart just enough moisture to relieve dryness for me, and it feels refreshing and pleasant. It’s a nice step at night, and in the morning it feels like it helps my sunscreen lock moisture in, if that makes sense. I’m disappointed that Thayer’s recently changed the formula, but so far I like it.
Update: I don’t think this really does anything for my skin honestly.

I used to use the on my teens and early 20s and it really helped keep my acne under control. I stopped using it when got into Paula and Beautypedia but lately I’ve been questioning their advice. Also this product seems to get a lot of love with people with acne prone, dehydrated skin like mine is now. My acne has. gotten pretty bad now in my late 30s. I bought this in desperation last week and its really helped my skin out.

Witch Hazel is handy to have around – especially if you are oily/acneic – but for my tired old dried out 40-something skin? Way too much. My 11 year old can still get away with this astringent, cooling toner – but for me? My witch hazel days are long past me.

I wanted to love it… I had been using Humphrey’s Witch Hazel and it cleared up my skin really well. Bumps were gone, pimples were gone, redness went down a lot. Only thing was, because of the alcohol in it, it was making my fine lines more pronounced. Which is why I switched to an alcohol-free witch hazel. This Thayer’s stuff didn’t help with the redness at all, it made my whole face oily, and made me break out. But it did tone down the fine lines, since it made me so oily! I won’t be buying this stuff again.

I’ve been meaning to buy this product for a while because of all the good things I heard about it! I found it in a random cosmetic store in Japan, squeed gleefully and raced home to try it…only to find that it gives me breakouts 🙁 I tried it several times (directly after cleansing, applied with a cotton pad) and every time I ended up with a few pimples the next day. It’s so disappointing, and now I have a great big bottle which I can’t use 🙁

Love this toner!!!! Never irritate my skin and there is no smell which is good cause fragrance may cause some allergy. Thx god that I found this one.

I love this witch hazel! I use it on everything and its so soothing on my acne/rosacea seb. derm skin.
Update: this proved irritating to my rosacea after a while. Definitely great for normal skin though. Excellent on bug bites.

I have not really been a fan of toners, since I never seen results from them. After starting at home chemical peels, I needed to purchase witch hazel because the one that comes with my kit runs out pretty darn fast.
I have only been using this toner for one week, but I can already tell that its helping my skin. Although I’m purging because of all the new products/peels I’m currently doing, my skin feels soothed after using this. My skin doesn’t feel tight and dry, it helps moisturise it a bit more. I use it twice a day, once in the morning and once at night.
I think its very reasonably priced. I purchased mine for $13.75 from a health store. The reason I gave the packaging 3 lipsticks is because for some reason sometimes If I hold the bottle in a certain way, with the lid closed of course, it leaks a bit. I’m not sure if its just my bottle, or a defect in all.
UPDATE 02/02/2015: It’s been a bit past the one month mark and I am so happy I found this. My skin feels amazingly clean and soft after using this. It removes anything you might have missed while cleansing. It’s helped control my breakouts, I realized this after stopping to use it for two nights. I got right back on it, and my breakouts started to get under control again. I’ll be trying rosewater next to see if its better. If not, at least I have this as back up!

I had given up on toners for a while because I noticed it would cause excess sebum however after seeing the situation of my pores I’ve decided to do some research for a good light toner that would still have a good effect on my skin and still not make my rosacea go crazy.
It took my about 2-3 weeks or reading reviews and trying out various samples available on the Korean market and then I saw that Thayers was finally available in Korea so I went for it.
I got the unscented one after trying out the rose one (the smell was horrible).
I’m really into this so I hope it won’t eventually fail me. I even waited for a month before i decided that I really did like it.
Pro: it doesn’t smell a lot (it does have tiny bit of mossy smell but it goes away fast), it doesn’t irritate, it does it’s job with the pores too,
Cons: it bit more expensive that the US price but it’s too good a product to not buy.
Recommended for people with sensitive skin and sensitive noses 😀
