BEWARE – evidently the packaging is not the only thing that has been changed for this toner. I’ve used this toner for years, and am very disappointed in the new formulation. The ingredients on the new bottle don’t even include Tocopherol (vitamin E/antioxidant), though the ingredient list on the website clearly includes it. Also, Polysorbate 20 (which is just a surfactant), has been moved up to the 5th ingredient listed, which means everything after that ingredient (all the good stuff) is in smaller proportion. I am so disappointed in their decision to effectively “water down” the formula. To top it off, you now almost need a magnifying glass to even be able to read the ingredient list on the bottle. Since Paula’s Choice has a history or “modifying” reviews on their own website if they consider them to be too negative, I decided to post here as well.

I wanted to like this so bad. So many ingredients great. A milky, relaxing texture that soothes your skin. The opposite of what I thought a toner should be (alcohol and drying).
Unfortunately, this caused some nasty pimples to form. I haven’t had acne prone skin since I was a teen. And I know it was this because everything else I’ve been using is the same.
So, this might be a decent toner if you have really, really dry skin.

The one I tried doesn’t have the writing “Skin Remodeling Complex”. Anyhow, as in other Paula’s choice toners I have tried, there are something in this toner that irritates my skin slightly. If it wasn’t for that, I would have given this toner 5/5 as it feels hydrating. Such a shame, not sure what ingredient it is that irritate my sensitive skin.

I cannot recommend this toner. Indeed, after just 2 uses, it has started stinging my cheeks as crazy.
I have fair and sensitive skin, and it is not the first product by Paula’s Choice, giving me problems (her chemical sunscreens are terrible to me!!!).
Moreover, I dislike many toners by Paula’s Choice, The main issue is they have too many ingredients, even if some are really good and reputable for the skin. I really don’t know which ingredient is the culprit, but I think the formulation itself and the interaction of the elements together may be the problem.

I used to love this product and use it daily but my skin has become very sensitive in the past couple of years and even this product is too strong.
The ingredient list is great so it’s definitely worth trying. Just order a sample first to check it is compatible with your skin type.

This is the best toner I’ve ever tried on my dry skin. I’ve used up countless bottles and order a few at a time. It has a thick consistency that is moisturizing without feeling heavy. If I’m feeling lazy, I just slap this on and skip moisturizer and it is enough to make my skin feel nice and moisturized. I prefer applying this directly with my hands rather than using cotton balls or pads. I used to think toner was unnecessary, but now I can’t live without this.

This is the best toner from Paula’s Choice and IMO the best toner on the market (for my skin anyway). I’ve gone through a couple bottles now and it’s basically become my staple fall/winter toner. It’s a welcome extra step to my skincare routine because it has improved my skin tone and texture. I started out with Paula’s Skin Recovery toner (which I’ve also reviewed) and it was great as well, and a lot cheaper than this one. However, as I mentioned in my Skin Recovery review, as soon as I tried the sample for this toner, I could tell it was better-formulated and gave superior results. I’m frankly shocked the overall rating is so mediocre. Perhaps too many users have the wrong skin type for it, or maybe are expecting it to be something it’s not (e.g. a stand-in for a moisturizer). This does not replace my moisturizer, but toning + moisturizing does improve my skin more than moisturizing alone.
The other toners I’ve tried from PC are the Earth-Sourced, which is my go-to summer toner because Resist and Skin Recovery are both too heavy for those months, and the Ultra-Light version of the Resist toner, which is way too watery and only suitable for very oily skin.
This toner has a milky, nourishing texture with a lotiony quality. It absorbs quickly into the skin and feels soothing on the skin. As I mentioned it’s too heavy for summer, especially if your climate is humid, but otherwise it doesn’t make my skin oily or shiny. My skin type is fairly normal but slightly dry, so this may not be right for oily-skinned or highly acne-prone types. Personally I’ve had no bad reactions and will continue to use it.
How I use: I use a cotton pad to apply this at night when I’ve been wearing makeup, to help finish off the cleansing process. Otherwise, I pour a few drops into my palm and apply with my fingers so as not to waste product. A little goes a long way. Don’t forget the undereyes, it’s great there!

Didn’t do anything for my skin. I initially bought this to replace my daily moisturiser since I have oily skin. I heard that a hydrating toner can be a good replacement (according to a paula’s choice research team member). But this is just not hydrating enough. My skin became flaky and peeling so I had to use my original moisturiser again.

I’ve pretty much given up on toner when I purchased this two months ago. I love it so much that my backup arrived last night. This has extra ingredients that my mature skin needs. I won’t do without this.
If you in your 20’s and not necessarily putting much effort in your skincare routine,you should check read about this products.

this is a thick toner, very hydrating. I could even forget moisturizer after using this and my skin would be hydrated anyway. it is expensive but the bottle is large and you need a tiny amount. I rub it into my hands and pat it on the face and neck. love it
