This is a very wonderful rosewater. It is also the purest rosewater I have tried and I have tried a bunch of different ones. If it gets in your eyes it does not sting. Unlike other rosewaters Chantecallies does not smell overwhelmingly of roses. The scent is very very light and does seem more like water than a rosewater but I like it. Its very refreshing and does not leave your face sticky like some other rosewaters do. The spray mechanism is exceptional. It sprays out quite a heavy mist of rosewater but the droplets are fine. I can tell I am going to go through this bottle quickly considering how much rosewater is sprayed out with each pump. The price though is absolutely outrageous for a rosewater. $74.00 for a 3.4 ounce bottle. The bottle is quite lovely in that it is glass. And actually I bought the limited edition bottle that has lovely hand painted roses on it of which only 100 bottles of the limited edition were crafted. The thing that was disappointing about it though is that it is not a refillable bottle. I was hoping to get this beautiful limited edition and have it for many years to refill with other less expensive rosewaters but no dice. So two lippies off for the price and non refillable bottle. It seems like a shame to throw away such a beautiful hand painted bottle but what am I going to do with a rosewater bottle. Display it? Lol. We’ll see.

This is a nice rose scented toner/ setting spray it smells great I just don’t get the hype.

This stuff is nice but because it’s so expensive I make my own. All it is is rosewater you can get at the grocery store, which is too strong so you mix it with some distilled water and then add a little glycerin. Leave out the two chemical preservative and you’ve done it for 5 bucks!

Pure Rosewater : Price $64.00 : Quantity 100ml / 3.4 oz. Glass bottle – with spritzer (shall post a pic in with the cap off). This is a staple for me – I have tried other rosewaters and I end up going back to this one. An SA spritz’d this on my face one hot AZ afternoon and that was it! … the cooling sensation, the fresh, light rose scent … well, I was smitten! You can use this as; a toner, to set your makeup, as a cooling facial mist in the summer, … the SA also spritz this on my hair! so you could almost use it as a light perfume. As I said I have tried other less expensive rosewater toners but some were too ‘rose’ scented and made me nauseous… they just did not have the same effect for me – it could be a sensory memory of that first, refreshing spritz … I don’t know … but I just cannot be without this toner. It smells wonderful, calms my skin AND me! (: This stuff definitely lifts my mood! and anything that can do that is worth the indulgence.
I do alternate with another toner so it lasts a bit longer – I get about 15-18months out of a bottle … I think if I see it nearing the end I of a bottle I start to treat it more and more preciously 🙂

I was skeptical of this product because everyone says it is just plain rosewater and you can buy rosewater from an ethnic or health food store for much, much less than what Chantecaille charges. I have tried the latter and I have to say that Chantecaille’s Rosewater is far superior to the cheaper rosewater. For whatever reason, it is much more potent than cheaper versions. It hydrates my skin and makes it glow! I spritz it on my skin after cleansing and before applying serum, and again before applying moisturizer and it definitely enhances the hydrating effects of my other skincare products. It feels refreshing and smells amazing. I could not live without this! I also love that it comes in a glass bottle. I feel this helps to preserve the product’s integrity.

This used to be my HG toner. The smell is natural and comforting to my sensitive skin. No irritation whatsoever. And I like the fact that they use glass bottle. I already used 4 or 5 bottles. But I just got another bottle a few days ago and it feels and smells a bit different from before. The new one seems a bit stronger and doesn’t feel as comforting to skin. I don’t know if they changed the formula or it’s just a defect. Even that, it’s still pretty good, just not as amazing as before. Until I find a better toner, I’ll continue to use this.

I love this refreshing spray. It has a very strong rose essence but I find that very calming. I have seborrhea dermatitis, and between the Rosewater toner and Jasmine and Lily healing mask, the redness quickly dissipates and stays away. I just recently discovered this line after years of La Mer, which is a lovely heavy moisturizer but didn’t resolve the redness problem. Chantecaille is my new love.

Chantecaille uses their Rosewater as the base for all their products, hence the amazing healing qualities of their line. I have fair skin which often has redness, and when I spritz my face with this Rosewater it immediately begins to soothe my skin and reduce the redness and inflammation. I’d previously tried Mario Badescu, but all of the bad ingredients that go with the very few good ones aren’t worth it. People complaining about the scent were likely expecting a more perfumed/faux rose scent. I find all of their products to be incredibly lightly fragranced, and the natural Rosewater used is very subtle. No, it doesn’t smell like a bouquet of red roses. And thank goodness, since those with sensitive skin would not benefit from added fragrance whatsoever.
A couple times a week, I even use this Rosewater as my toner. I love using it prior to applying their Vital Essence Serum and Retinol Intense Cream at night. I generally use La Prairie, but immediately switch to Chantecaille when my skin is irritated, inflamed, or needs TLC. I catch myself spritzing my face several times a day with this delightful, revitalizing and healing spray. I simply can’t say enough wonderful things about this incredible product. It’s not just a toner.

Luckily, I got it as a gift from someone from Korea and the price is literally twice the price in America. $120. Even if it was bought at the originial price, I would say that it is not worth it at all.
The smell is horrible. Other rosewater products I have used and still do did not come close to smelling like this. This toner smells unpleasant and kind of like fishy. It’s unfortunate. I think the bottle itself is pretty but the spray top is a little flimsy. Sometimes, it’s difficult to work. Also as in terms of the hydrating properties, it gives you a cool feeling after you spray your face put it’s not hydrating at all. I advise you not to get it!! I am trying really hard to use it all up.
I recommend Sisley Rosewater Toner instead. It smells much lighter and natural and Actually hydrates your face.

About my skin: I have combination skin with a very oily t-zone and am prone to breakouts and blackheads on/around my nose. However, my skin is also quite sensitive, especially since I’m currently 7 months pregnant, and sometimes fragrances and certain ingredients irritate me, so I have to be careful with what I use.
I received a small size of the Pure Rosewater toner in a skincare value set. I’d tested it before at the Chante counter and really liked it — found it refreshing, and loved the rosewater scent, however, found the price a bit prohibitive. ($60 for a 3.4oz bottle)
I have to say that I really enjoy this. I spritz all over my face after I wash with the Rice & Geranium cleanser (which I love and have reviewed separately), and let it air dry before following with the Vital Essence serum and the Flower Harmonizing Cream. Sometimes, I will spray a bit in my hair to refresh it, too.
My skin feels dewy after spraying this on. Although it doesn’t claim to have moisturizing effects per se, the Pure Rosewater does make the dry parts of my face feel comfortable.
Overall, I do like this product a lot and would not hesitate to repurchase.
