I was browsing in Space NK, and saw this product, I needed a new toner and this one claimed to address large pores, oil production and break outs. I’d never heard of Sunday Riley and like trying new products so decided to buy a bottle. It is quite expensive costing £45 and I was curious about the description that it turns to liquid when applied.
I used the toner on cotton wool, I expected it to turn to liquid as promised but it stayed as a lotion texture. I used it all over my face but to be honest I didn’t like the feel, it felt as though I was using face cream, not refreshed as per a liquid toner.
I’d started getting hormonal spots on my chin and hoped this toner would help, due to the various herbs like mallow and witch hazel, but I think it made it worse, not only that, it had the most horrid fragrance which almost smelled like a mixture of urine, ginger and cheese. It was very offputting. I was concerned that other people would get a cheesy whiff as I walked past.
I only used this toner for about a month and probably won’t use it again, bit of a waste of money really. I would not recommend.

Brilliant for combination/oily skin types, I use this AM & PM with a cotton pad and it’s definitely helped clear hormonal acne which I tend to get on my chin and sometimes (rarely) forehead. Also keeps my t-zone matte and holds back the shine a good 2-3 hours longer compared to when I’m not using it. The texture of this toner is unusual I have to say, feels slightly slimy going on but gradually changes into what any regular toner would feel like – watery.
The only reasons I’ve knocked off a lippie is because A) It is very pricey for a toner! and B) I’m not so keen on ‘alcohol’ being the 2nd ingredient in this (which in itself is unusual as it’s marketed towards oily-but-dehydrated skin types!). The fact that it contains so many good botanicals i.e green tea, turmeric, cucumber and even pearl powder means I’m willing to overlook the alcohol content and continue using, however if I notice my skin drying out I will definitely discontinue using it and amend the rating on here accordingly. For now though I’m definitely seeing the benefits of adding this into my routine.

This is good for acne prone and oily skin people. It controls the oils, and soothes the skin. I would repurchase.
