Usually I use (& adore) Humphrey’s Cucumber Melon Witch Hazel toner. However, I saw this toner at a discounted price that wound up being cheaper per fluid ounce than my holy grail, so I decided to give it a shot. It’s not terrible I guess… but I didn’t realize how much I loved the Humphrey’s until now.
I typically use toner right after cleansing my face, to remove trace remnants of makeup that are left over & to balance my skin’s pH. This product doesn’t do anything to take off lingering makeup though. I know that’s not necessarily the purpose of toner, so I didn’t take off a lippie for that. It’s nice that the Humphrey’s one works for that purpose too though.
The smell of this product okay. I’m a huge lavender fan but this scent doesn’t appeal to me much. Also, this toner leaves my face feeling sort of dry, even though the formula is alcohol-free.
I like the packaging alright. I like that the ingredients list is simple & natural. But those are about the only pros I can think of. I’ll use this up but won’t repurchase.

Very nice alcohol-free toner. No breakouts, stinging/burning or adverse effects while using this twice a day. I don’t recommend it as a makeup remover since it’s so gentle, and you’ll go through a lot of cotton pads. Soft lavender scent and leaves my skin refreshed and smooth. I will repurchase, maybe in another scent.

I’ve just purchased my second bottle of this and it has replaced the Origins toner I had been using for a few years. I get mine from Whole Foods for $10. I get twice the amount for half the price of Origins. I feel this does just as good a job as my old toner, it gets off the very last trace of whatever Cetaphil didn’t during my nighttime wash, but doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight or stripped. I also use it in the morning instead of Cetaphil. It’s very refreshing.

This stuff is so awesome, I love it. It has no chemicals, the ingredients are great. I really enjoy using this stuff. I wanted witch hazel with no alcohol so I tried this and it’s the only kind I will use now. Doesn’t smell like witch hazel, slight lavender scent, very mild scent. Witch hazel is so beneficial for your skin so that is why this stuff is amazing. There is no alcohol in it so it works better for your skin.

I was very disappointed with this toner. It is supposedly for sensitive skin, but it ended up breaking me out. I won’t be using it again.

I’ve only been using this product a for about 2 weeks. I had formerly sworn off astringents/toners because they were always either extremely drying, or did absolutely nothing for my skin. This one seems to remove any residual dirt left over from after I wash my face, and helps tighten my pores. I absolutely LOVE the smell–I had used pure witch hazel before and hated it because of the smell, and I usually don’t care for the smell of lavender either but somehow they got it right. I was a little surprised at the complete lack of drying effect it has on the skin. I don’t know if that’s because it replaces the oil with aloe vera or what, but I almost wish I could have just a smidge of dryness to reassure me that its working. The price was on point, a respectable size amount for something like $5-7 at Drug Emporium–the higher end toners are usually tiny bottles at $10+ and then the lower end (i.e. Sea Breeze) ones are basically pure alcohol. Packaging alone I think is brilliant, and conveys that idea of using an old fashioned natural toner (witch hazel) as it once was. I think the one with lemon oil may provide slightly better results, but I will definitely be using the lavender in the meantime–if for nothing but for the cleansing boost and smell!

This is by far the best toner I have ever used on my skin. I have used high end down to the cheapest toners and have always had bad results. I ordered this from Amazon to try and was not expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised. This does such a great job of toning, soothing and helping moisturize my dry skin. Normally, toners make my skin feel tight but this makes my skin feel smooth after use. Plus, it smells great. A keeper in my skin care regimen for sure!

I don’t know what’s in this natural product that is breaking me out!
I was looking for an alcohol-free witch-hazel concoction, as I usually use the regular drugstore ones with partial alcohol blend without problems.
The product: A liquid toner that feels soapy, and dries slightly sticky. I bet that I could try sudsing it if I wanted to. lol.
The bottle leaks profusely during travels.
It has a strong, artificial lavender smell that kinda gives me a headache. But apparently the lavender in there is natural.
My thoughts: I should’ve avoided the pretty purple packaging, and tried the regular alcohol-free Thayer’s toner.

I have oily scalp with clogged hair follicles; my hair falls out easily because the clog cuts off the delivery of important nutrients to my hair. Ideally I should just get a guy’s short hair cut and wash my hair/scalp everyday, but I am too much of a girl to do that. I wanted something that will help cleanse my scalp. I decided to try this product because it is the only witch hazel that I’ve come across that doesn’t have any drying alcohol in its ingredients.
I don’t like the packaging. The cap top has a hole in the middle and it tends to drip and goes into waste whenever I pour it out on a cotton swab, mostly because the design of the bottle made me forgot that it’s as liquid as water. This toner doesn’t have a strong lavender scent; I don’t know how witch hazel is supposed to smell like but it smells more like witch hazel than lavender to me. The smell goes away shortly after application, so it should not be a main concern to anyone.
I have only been using it for a week; it does help me reduce and get rid of excess oil on my scalp to a certain extent. Now I can skip a day not washing my hair, but nothing more than that. I also tried it on my face after shower; I did feel that my skin had a sticky residue after it dried, so I guess that’s because of the moisturizing aloe vera. Therefore as advertised, this toner is not drying in anyway. In fact, it contains more aloe vera than the Thayer proprietary witch hazel extract, so this toner is more like an Alcohol-free Aloe Vera Toner Enriched with Lavender and Witch Hazel than what it’s being advertised.
